Black Angus Steakhouse - Blossom Hill Ratings and Reviews
Had reservation but, restaurant wasn't ready. Waited in bar for 20 minutes. Got seated and service was slow. We finally got our food 1 hr after ordering, at one point we looked around and 7-9 tables near by were ALL just waiting for service or food. This place is really in need of management, you can tell the staff wants to help but, they have no systems/proceedures in place. I've been to other Black Angus and they were good. This one is lousy--clearly it is the lack or competent management.
Won't be back
We love Black Angus and go there quite often, however, this time was a tiny bit disappointing. We asked for water 3 times and finally got some after we asked the manager when he went by. The food was good, we just felt like the service wasn't up to the normally great service we usually receive. We will be back though! It would be nice if you guys served lunch, just a thought.
Our dinner was for a Birthday celebration. Number in our party was four adults. We were able to have a booth which with its high and upholstered walls, we felt very private. Menu items were cooked to order specifications. We appreciated the lobster tail served cut out of shell with a pleasing presentation. Service was prompt, if not abrupt at first. The server, Lin may have been so very busy early on, but became more personable toward dessert. On his own initiative, the server brought extra plates and spoons for sharing the dessert. We definitely plan to return to Black Angus.
Our food was hot, our server was friendly and took her time to get our order and serve it. We didn't feel rushed at all. My only complaint is the place was very crowded, so the noise level was pretty high. It was hard to hear each other speak. The temp was a bit too warm for my taste. We drank a lot of ice water to cool down.
We have eaten here many times before and it has been a very good dining experience with an occasional glitch. None have been serious and we have always been taken care of. When we ate last we had great service: seated on time, wait staff friendly and attentive, great cocktails and wine, good food and dessert. We really enjoyed ourselves. The one glitch was that they cooked my steak medium (little or no pink) instead of medium rare (warm pink inside). They did offer to get a new steak (which I appreciated) but then it would be several more minutes while my wife ate her entree as I waited for the steak. They were pretty busy so I opted to keep the steak as served. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the check and saw that the dessert was comp-ed. We will be back because they do have great food and service, even with the glitch here and there.
Admittedly, we went on a Sat night about 6:30 so it was VERY busy. Our reservation was for 6:30 and we were seated about 7:00 but not a big issue really for me. The service was fine but the food for the price was very disappointing.
The portions were small and seemed to have no seasoning at all. I ordered a Cobb salad with salmon and half of the ingredients were missing. My friend ordered 1/2 rack of ribs which turned out to be 4 small ribs.
We were there for a birthday (4 of us) which I listed on the reservation, and no mention of as every made of it. Oh well....will find another place next time.
Hubby and I went to the restaurant with a free meal birthday coupon. Had the small prime rib, Caesar salad and tator tots. Prime rib was very tasty as was the salad. This was first time I had tator tots - some of the best I've ever eaten. We were gifted with a birthday dessert: warm large chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream on top - divine!
OK, so we did NOT eat here after all. We were disappointed with the way Black Angus handled our reservation. I booked a 7:30 PM dinner through OT. When I showed up, the place was buzzing with lots of people waiting. So I'm thinking, phew, I'm glad I made reservations. I let the hostess know we had reservations (in fact we were about 10 mins. early). She said she sees our name and have been checked in. However, she said they are extremely busy and there are a lot of groups ahead of you and they would not tell us how long the wait would be. Confused, I mentioned that's why we made reservations and she would not tell me how much longer to wait. 15 minutes? 1 hour? She says she does not give that info out because it will create a false hope. What she doesn't understand is if it's a long time, we'll go somewhere else. If it's short, we'll stay. Without knowing one way or another, it was like waiting for paint to dry. After 10 minutes, WE LEFT. Bottom line: what's the point of Open Table and reservations if they can't honor it?
Great food and service for a special night. The menu options are great. We would recommend the ribs, they were fantastic. Our server was great, the food was a bit slow due to the number of customers but he was very courteous and took a small discount off for the inconvenience. We had a great experience at this Black Angus Steakhouse.
The Food was outstanding. Our waiter was quite the opposite. He almost seemed like we were a bother. When we sat down he wanted our drink orders as though we knew what was on the menu. We asked him to give us a moment, but after 15 minutes we had to ask a waitress if she could find him as we were ready to order. By the time he came back, we had decided what we wanted to drink and also placed our order for food. He looked at us as if we were out of our minds placing both orders at the same time. The first thing he brought was Mom's salad and it was on a very warm plate. 5 minutes later our drinks came.
Not too sure what was going on as the restaurant was not that busy. It was a Tuesday evening. I will give them another try, but I don't want Linh serving our food.
