Black Angus Steakhouse - Blossom Hill Ratings and Reviews
The booking process was simple and there was very little traffic on that particular Sunday. The food was excellent, cooked as ordered and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. However, we tried to use some prepaid Cash cards from American Express and Visa to settle the bill all of which were denied because apparently this branch has an "old machine". We were not convinced and disappointed that we had to spent $120 when we had $85 in gift cards we could not use.
Restaurant is a popular local location. Management was very poor. Way overbooked on reservations the night we came which resulted in seating 35 mins after the scheduled reservation time. Food plating on service was clearly rushed. Ordered ribs and green beans. There were 5 green beans that looked thrown awkwardly on plate and the wet nap was placed in the beans on the plate. Waitress was clearly rushing to keep on top of rush. Overall pretty poor.
While the food was good as usual this was not one of our better dining experiences as this location. The first server left our table right after delivering 3 of 4 h'ordeuvre dishes. One of the items was not the item we ordered. A second waitress was quickly substituted for the first (nothing to do with the appetizer issue). This one was obviously extremely busy as the service from this point on was much slower than normal.
When the main course arrived one was not as ordered. It was a Teriyaki steak that was ordered to be cooked medium was in fact was delivered VERY well done (in fact dried out). When we brought this problem to the waiters attention she said she would have the dinner replaced and that it would take 5 to 10 minutes to do so. It actually took closer to 25 minutes for the replacement to arrive. During this wait the waiter did NOT provide us with any status update as to when the replacement dinner was expected to arrive.
All in all this was a very disappointing dinner event. This particular location usually provides very good food and timely/friendly table service.
While the food was excellent and the interactions with the staff was pleasant, the service was very slow. I ended up having to cancel my wine because I had to ask for it multiple times and I was halfway done with my steak by the time it arrived. They staff graciously apologized and I was given the glass on the house. Our glasses of wine, ice tea, and water constantly sat empty.
My wife's Filet was requested to be medium. It arrived rare & under cooked. They took it back to the kitchen for further cooking but arrived back pretty dry. I asked for a rib-eye cooked between medium & med rare. It was medium but cooked OK. Unfortunately, they served me a New York & not the rib-eye I requested. Since we waited for my wife's filet to be cooked further, the manager gave us an extra dessert. Nice & thoughtful. Mixed results .. food was C grade.... unfortunately not as good as previous occasions
As usual, Black Angus steakhouse fed us well, and quickly. Prime rib always great, med rare gets you a cooled piece, rare and it's cool, so be aware when ordering. My wife got tri tip, was disappointed in it, low flavor.
ALWAYS use open table before going here...unless you like sitting in the loby for 20-30 minutes! Use open table and walk right in and be seated.
We had a small family get together and wanted to go out for dinner. Black Angus is fairly close by. But the main reason we chose to go there was because we can get a fairly quiet booth. We had an elderly hard of hearing member of the family who can't hear conversation in a noisy environment. Black Angus's booth allowed him to be an active participate in the conversation. Our server was great. She was very attentive without being over bearing. She was a little slow taking our appetizer order at the beginning, but after that, service was perfect. The food was average to good. One member ordered the baby back ribs and they were extremely dry. The biggest complaint we all had was the portion sizes. Compared to other restaurants for the same price, the portion amounts here are very small. For example, the side of asparagus consisted of 4 spears. If I were to have ordered a side of asparagus at Red Lobster, I would have gotten about a dozen spears. The rice that the shrimp was served over couldn't have been more than 1/4 cup, even even that. So, even though the food was decent, the amount was lacking.
Have been many times to this black angus. Usually very good, not this time salad consists of spring green aka weeds 2 tiny tomatoes. Was not especially busy, noticed sticky dirt on menus, staff should really wipe down. All in all blossom hill black angus is going downhull.
We came for dinner on Christmas Eve and everyone were super welcoming. We made reservations and didn’t have to wait long at all for our table. We had wonderful service from a very energetic and nice serve. We even were checked on by management to make sure we had everything we need. We will for sure be back.
Kitchen was slow for some reason even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Server was very perfunctory- competent but didn’t say much and the food was a little cold when it arrived leading me to think that it sat a while before being brought out. Not our usual experience here.
We love going to Black Angus and were once again very happy. Having said that when you buy the "Campfire Feast for 2" lately there are a bunch switch-and-bait upgrade charges. We were charged $1 extra for the caesar salad side, $6 for using the wagon sampler starter and $3 for a side of teriyakis sauce. For a party of 4 using the coupon for 2 "Campfire Feast for 2" we ended up paying with tax/tip close to $150. Options which used be include are now extra.
We go to Black Angus fairly regularly because it is close to our home. Our last meal there was the best in quite some time - everything served was very good and our server was the best we've had anywhere in this past year. Drinks were tasty and the filet was melt in your mouth good.
I’m from Gilroy. Met my adult kids from Oakland and Mtn. View for early Xmas celebration.
Was so glad I made reservations- and was also glad I could change the time easily when someone needed the extra time.
Menu had changed again since I was there last, but the food was still delicious as always. Our server (and I’m sorry I don’t know her name) was EXCELLENT. She picked up clues and made suggestions. She made a point that she always repeats the order (to clarify), and she did get it all right for the 6 of us. ‘‘Twas a really nice evening!
Seated in back booth, per our request. Server was very patient with our slow eating patterns and at the ready to serve more bread, etc, when asked. Each of us enjoyed all the food served. The problem was at the outset when I told the server it was the young guest's birthday and would there be a wonderful cookie served. She said it was no longer being done and there were no complimentary birthday desserts. So we ordered three desserts, incl the birthday girl's, and were charged for each one.
May I please have management response to this. Other very recent reviews spoke of comped desserts.
