Great service by all the staff and food was great for the first being here
Very good celebrated Mother’s Day Waiter was very good everything was hit enjoyed it
Our server was great she made us feel special she took really good care of us 👌🏻
I took my mom here for Mother’s Day and did the campfire feast for two. Loved the servers she was so nice and attentive. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, but it came out kinda cold so they made us another one that was steaming when we got it and was perfect. They time between our remake dip and when our dinner was a good amount of time we enjoyed the appetizer and had a little down time and then the food came out everything was perfect liked what we had ordered including the temp on our steaks. It was a lovely meal and since the covid restrictions have people spaced out it wasn’t noisy at all.
Food came out wrong. They took it back and my meat became beef jerky but was hungry and didn’t want to complain
Steaks were over salted, we got our sides before we even got our steaks, they didn't have the wagon wheel combo, alcoholic beverages were horribly watered down, requested more bread more than once never received it until upon leaving. To be honest I feel that after so many years of tradition to come to black angus for a celebration this is our 1st and last time ever going. Server was not attentive.
Nice Mother’s Day
Food and service was very good, but the menu was limited and prices definitely higher than last fall. Could have been Mother's Day prices.
We went for Mother's Day lunch and sat outside due to Covid19 restrictions. Location is a block from my mother's senior facility so that is a big plus. Food was good -- shrimp, prime rib, Caesar salad, hot chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert. Service was very good for this type of restaurant. They kept our drinks topped off and food came at a good pace. The price for the set meal (appetizer, entrees, sides and dessert) was excellent. There is nothing fancy or creative on offer here, but what they do they do well!
Great food and service..the ambiance of the restaurant is good too..
it would have been nice to have some specials for mothers day
The service was outstanding! However, my ribeye was so full of grizzle that it was hard to cut. The prime rib had a lot more fat than we normally see. I've never been disappointed before, so I'm hoping this is a "one off".
The service was superb, the meal was outstanding. Need I say more? LOL.
We were eating outside which is fine, but our table top was warped and very dusty when we arrived. I asked the server to clean the table and he got to it right away which was nice. Our meals were good except my boyfriend’s steak was more well done and he ordered medium. My strawberry margarita was very good, so I ordered another one.
Mostly a good experience, but not great.
Mother’s Day dinner
For the high prices charged, the food was absolutely below pedestrian grade. Everything had clearly been prepped in advance so there was no freshness at all. The outside dining is literally a bunch of tents cobble together with zero atmosphere. Not a plant, not music, nothing. Might as well eat at Red Lobster.
Reservations were easy to make, the service was fantastic and food was really good. We had a great time and we will be back.
We have been celebrating birthdays and anniversaries (or just because) at black angus for decades. The food is good and, with coupons, a good value. The customer service never disappoints. We are so happy they have indoor seating again, that I’m already trying to come up with something to celebrate so we can go back soon.
Location has spotty service - inside less helpful and prompt than when we sit outside.
They handled pandemic needs with making the dining special. Recommend for family.
The meal was amazing! The service was great and since your not sitting on top of each other due to required spacing it was a very nice.
I will certainly be back again.
Thank you for an amazing experience and great meal.
Great place always take care of us. Ate outside still si street noise was bad. But overall excellent
The staff at this BA was great. Friendly and personal service
Always enjoy going to Black Angus. Great food and selections. We always get the combo plate of seafood and steak. Service was a little weak last visit but other times very good.
It was different eating outdoors since usually we enjoy the indoor dining.
We didn't know reservations were needed. When we tried to get in, we were told the 1st opening was at 7:00 PM (it was 5:00 PM). Before we left, I tried Open Table and I was able to get a 5:15 reservation. When we went to check in, the guy acted as if we did something wrong and made us wait 10 minutes before we got seated. Another couple were right behind us and said they had 5:30 reservations and the took them right in! So wrong in so many ways! Our server was good, but it would have been nice if he could have checked on us more and got us refills. The social distancing was awesome though!
I had a free birthday dinner valued at $22.99, they only gave us $16.00 off
It's nice to be indoors again. Everything was great. A great steakhouse in South San Jose.
Always great food at good prices. The "Campfire Feast" is our favorite go to meal. (And it's worth the extra for the "Sampler Platter.) The Western style decor is not extravagant, but it is pleasing to the eye. We've been customers of Black Angus restaurants since the mid-eighties in Colorado, and have continued to enjoy the food and the ambience here in California. And their house brand of steak sauce is better than the national brand, A-1. Thank you Stewart Anderson for "Black Angus".
Glad you are back open. Service and the food was excellent. We're seated as soon as we arrived for our reservation. All protocols for covid were met
The New York strip had a lot of fat throughout, not just on the edges; it was also a tad salty. But was cooked perfectly.
The glazed carrots were also really salty; neither my companion nor I could eat them.
The service was excellent, and (due to reduced capacity) it wasn't at all noisy. Will definitely go back.
Food was very good. Outdoor ambience is blah. Put some potted plants around . Waiter was helpful and attentive. Wine by the glass was pricey.
Outdoor dining. Awful tables and chairs, very run down looking. Could do so much with the outside to make it look nicer but they have not! Food was ok. Cheesy Garlic Bread was good, my son's Burger was fine and my husbands Top Sirlon was just ok. My Prime Rib was the most fatty piece of meat I have ever seen. Should never have been served!!!
We will not be back!
It was ok. Servers were nice, food wasn’t worth the value but edible
Staff was friendly and staying safe. Food was delicious. Was a little worried about it getting cold outside but the staff was able to accommodate us with outdoor heaters. Overall I am very pleased with the service for being social distanced and outdoors
Service and Covid precautions were excellent. Our campfire dinner was good until the cowboy cookie with ice cream. It was not fresh—but stale and so crisp I could hardly cut it. Maybe they have changed vendors? We’ve ordered it for years and it has always been fresh, hot , tasty and delicious...not this time!
It was nice and quiet, didn't really hear other people around us. Our server was very nice. We made a reservation and when we got there we were seated at once.
Our waiter was the best very funny and attentive. Quick service. Food quality not as good as I remember it to be in the past.
The personnel are outstanding! Food choices are OK.
