Black Angus Steakhouse - Arrowhead Ratings and Reviews
Sorry to say, but the service was a sore point during this visit. The food was good, but the server was way too stressed and rushed and just lacked in table side manner, I don't know if the restaurant was just way understaffed at the time, didn't seem too busy, but our server was running and working up a sweat. We didn't even get refills on our drinks. He did bring us three loafs of bread, which was appreciated and after telling me that I had been there often enough to KNOW that you don't have Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb or sweet tea (I didn't remember that at all, and who is he to tell me that?), anyway, he offered raspberry tea or mango tea, I chose the latter and found it too tart, so he did exchange it for the raspberry tea. Also, out of my group, I'm the only one working and when I asked for the check since I had to get back to work, he said he was trying to work too! He DID then bring me my check first and I paid first and managed to get back to the office only 10 minutes late. Anyway, we (my group of ladies) did enjoy the atmosphere and the food, but no extra points for the service... sorry. This is the first time I've been there with this ladies group, but I have been there often with family and service has never been such an issue before.... hopefully just a rare bad day.
Excellent meal - cold, crispy, tasty salad, perfectly cooked steaks and ribs. Nice touch to have the chef deliver our meals and tell each person what was on the place and how the meat was co0oked. Server was timely but not intrusive. No noise level issue for us. Great time catching up with our old friends. Wine by the glass might be a touch pricey.
We went on New Year’s Eve and restaurant was very crowded. We had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation to get seated but considering how busy restaurant was, that wasn’t too long. Food and service were excellent even though it was obvious server was swamped. Restaurant was a good choice for New Years.
Food here is usually up to snuff, served at proper temperature, good service. Noise level is generally better than average because of high, padded booths that help absorb sound. Last time we were in, there was a large, loud group next to us that was obviously celebrating an event, repeatedly toasting & singing. We couldn't hear our own conversation over these folks, so that distracted from our enjoyment. But this restaurant still provides a generally good dining experience.
We had a reservation at The Black Angus Restaurant on Bell Rd. and was seated on time. The hostess and server were friendly and helpful. Two of us had the Fall Trio, our friends had the Steak and Chicken, and all of the food was cooked as ordered. Our Anniversary cookie was a surprise, Yumm.
All 4 of us had the fall trio. Lobster,
Shrimp, and steak were done to perfection. The asparagus and green beans not so. The bottom ends of the asparagus needed to be snapped off before roasting as they were stringy. The greens beans weren't in season and were tough. Bread was good and on Wednesday nights bottle of wines are half price.
We had reservations for 5:15 but it became obvious diners without reservations who had been waiting were seated before us. We were seated next to the kitchen and the noise level was very high. The food was excellent as was our waiter. We would go back but will be prepared for a wait and will request different seating.
This specific location has the best service, staff, and is amazing! I take my friends, family, and business clients here and it never disappoints. The manager Sean ensures a well executed restaurant and Tiffany runs a great bar. Kudos to all at this location!
Overall this was a very pleasant dinner. Had reservations and the restaurant was ready, but some of our party was a little late. They gave away our table 4 minutes after our reservation time (but it was busy). We did get seated within 10 more minutes so we were OK with that. The food was really very good and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Considering how busy they were the service was excellent. The value was outstanding because we were able to use their coupons.
Thanks for being open on Thanksgiving Day. We appreciated the fixed-price turkey dinner with the usual sides: mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, dressing. (My plate could have used more dressing 😊). Added steamed broccoli (interesting choice in lieu of green beans, but okay) and warm molasses bread. The slice of pumpkin pie for dessert was fine. Soup of the day for first course was good, but the service was a bit rushed — we got the soup and the dinner plate almost simultaneously, so we had to wolf down the soup so our dinner didn’t get cold. Overall, though, it was a good dinner at a decent price. Thanks!
We were there for Thanksgiving dinner about 6 o’clock. For the past three years we’ve always enjoyed turkey dinner there. We had a party of six. We were pretty disappointed for the turkey itself the dressing was terrible. And whoever made the pumpkin pie was Bad. All in all the food was very disappointing. But the service was great.
