Our server was great. Food not so much. NY steak was full of gristle. Ordered it Charred, but rare -didn’t dome that way. Asparagus was crispy undercooked. The “table side” baked potato was a real letdown. Just a baker with the usual condiments on the side. Martinis and wine were good.
All in all, this place is disappointingly average.
Great food, great environment. Worst service in the world.
We were there for the prime rib dinner for 2 for $80 which included caesars salad, prime rib and dessert as well as a glass of wine each (limited time offer, only good on Sundays or Mondays). Very good value. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. No complaints at all and I can usually find something to complain about. We added a side order of the brussel sprouts which were also excellent.
My father was mad because he didn’t get the seared foie gras he has been wanting... the staff told us they do offer foie gras...
Great place, great service, great food - definitely one to visit!
Amazingly great experience overall, fantastic spot for someone or something special
The food is amazing. I gave a 4/5 because there was a small mishap with the steak - it was slightly overdone and I know B&B delivers amazing quality so we asked for it to be redone.
Full disclosure - we were so hungry that we had two and a half strips before we realized the mistake but the staff were so accommodating and our server was very personable. Kudos to everyone there - it was my first time and I will be back.
Brought a close friend for their birthday and am super happy with my choice. We had the carpaccio, the meat and seafood platter, Mac and cheese sticks, and baked Alaska for dessert. Every bite was delicious!
Well presented, well cooked product, friendly service
Great wine list
Up market culinary experience
Steak was awesome...
what can I say more?
all the recommendations were up to expectations.
Awesome place with great food. Went for my gfs bday.
Slow start great finish!
The steak was OK. I admit....the tenderloin I had at the keg 2 weeks ago was better than the one at Black and Blue...
I don’t understand the desert menu, and why they have some of the items....the cheesecake sucked... the flavour was bland, and out of sync with the follow up to a steak. (Chai Cheesecake?)
A regular rich cheesecake would have hit the spot. My girlfriend had some cake thing....she described as dry and austere.
I suggest they re-do the desert menu, or at least taste the items they offer, as the desert menu is lacking...
The bill for the two of us was over $350.00. (With wine) before tip. I don’t count nickels and dimes...but it did cross my mind that I received better food for far less at the keg.
In regards to the service.....it was great. Our waiter was top notch.
The atmosphere is excellent.
Loved it!! Dining at black and blue is always such a treat!!! Our waitress was awesome!!!
Good portions and food. Price point was very fair. Service was excellent. Good atmosphere.
The jerk chicken was inedible. Fatty, grisly chicken that tasted as if it were well past its due date, unceremoniously plopped atop greasy lettuce and avocados. The seating on the second floor is fine if you have your back to the enormous window, but if you are facing it, you are unable to see the face of the person with whom you are dining ... just one big shadow. The servers were fabulous, as they usually are at Glowbal restaurants, but I was very disappointed in the food.
It feels like the quality of the actual cuts of meat has gone down. Previously I have had the flank steak, and left most of it on the plate. I was there as a guest of another person, so didn't complain, but I noted several people left food on their plate. I'm trying hard to enjoy B&B, but I think it is riding on the coattails of its better cousins, Coast and IK.
Overall good restaurant/cool atmosphere but unfortunately due to the size of our party (8) we were seated by the door. I was disappointed we didn’t get to enjoy the restaurants ambience and it was quite cold and drafty. The food was good overall but the steak I received was rare when I ordered medium. Not really acceptable based on the prices. Also it was my birthday dinner and the waiter didn’t know who’s birthday it actually was. I would try this restaurant again but based on the seating arrangement and service was a bit disappointed.
Amazing meal and service!
Jeffery M was a fabulous server and made the meal such a great experience!!!
Great service- Ashleigh was super nice and the sommelier was great!
Excellent evening. Pleasant service and good food and portion sizes.
My husband and I came here to celebrate his birthday and it really was an unforgettable experience. From outside it looks super clean simple and modern. Walk in and it’s everything you’d be hoped for and more with the fun lighting, the meat on display, multiple dining levels, friendly staff, etc. we sat in the main dining room and our server was very attentive and super friendly. The steak was so tender you could literally cut with a fork!! Amazing flavor! You can tell somebody loves what they do. They even surprised my husband with a sweet little birthday dessert. From start to finish we were both very pleased.
Steak was dry. Other food was alright.
Very good service. Very friendly
The prime rib dinner was great. However, the plates appear to be old for a nice restaurant. The steak knives do not cut very well for our table for 4.
Great atmosphere, server was totally authentic and knowledgeable, and the food was outstanding.
Another great night! Great service and great food!
Great atmosphere, amazing food and wine; perfect for our 10th anniversary dinner. Our server, Liam, was fantastic; attentive service and knowledgeable about wine & food pairings. The tableside Bananas Foster for dessert was fun and delicious!
Great evening overall. Our Server Caroline (160) was awesome, much appreciated! Food was amazing overall. Would definitely go again. Thanks everyone at BnB! Steve & Sandy.
Excellent steak, great meal! Will definitely be back.
In general, it was good, but we thought the service was a bit rushed on how the food came out. Also, a couple bus boys tried to take food off the table when the plate still had food on it. Also, although the food came out quick/rushed, it took forever to get the bill.
The food was good but the service in general was a bit sub-par compared to other times I have been there.
Heerlijk gegeten , prachtig restaurant , we kregen een mooie tafel , aardige en belangstellende bediening (Alex) .
Klassieke gerechten , heerlijk klaargemaakt . Ons menu: uiensoep/pompoensoep, Chateau Briand en als nagerecht een omelette Siberienne ( baked Alaska)
We hadden als bijgerecht spruitjes besteld maar die waren te kruidig /pittig en niet in balans met het vlees .
Goede wijnkaart .
Popped in for a quick dinner prior to an event at Rogers Arena and this was a short walk from our hotel. Food was decent - had the chateaubriand and calamari. Great value as it was happy hour so house red wine was at $5 (Rogers charges almost $10 for beer these days so it ended up being an ideal stop). The meat display the centre of the space is a nice touch. It was kind of loud but because we were there for dinner the hostess was nice enough to seat us away from the happy hour crowd but there's specifically this one patron/lady who despite being seated on the far opposite of the restaurant just sounded like she was being tickled by a thousand elves. Service was outstanding though- Jeff, our server, and everyone was super nice and checked on us periodically, never felt like I waited long for anything despite the place being busy.
The food was overall fine but the timing of our lunch was not ideal = 2 hours. That's just too long for a lunch. The waiter was very fun but I have no idea why the lunch took such a long time. So based on that I would not recommend this restaurant for lunch. However, I did go to the Italian Kitchen last night and had a fabulous experience.
We had an amazing meal with fantastic service in a beautiful environment.
Love Black & Blue! Very chic & modern, great music & ambience and unique decor - not your average steakhouse! Drink menu is very creative, wine selection is outstanding and steak is cooked to perfection. Definitely feel I got my money’s worth - will be back soon!
Our server Alex was super nice and friendly. Excellent service. But was quite disappointed with the food. If you want good steak, I would prefer Gotham or Hy’s.
My wife’s 50th birthday! On of our friends shares the same birthday and we had a great time. The food is always good and the service was fantastic!! Love being upstairs!!
Great food , great service. Will definitely go back next time we are in Vancouver.
Had a 9:15 reservation. Seated at bar to wait. 40- minutes later, still not seated. Apparently, host station mixed up names. Manager accommodating, taking care of the drinks at bar. When finally seated, food and service were excellent. Definitely recommend!
Food and service was great. However our table was very close to the entrance. (To the left of the door). Was cold whenever the door was opened and did not remove my jacket.
