Artisanal Cuisine
The bittersweet team has an artisanal approach to hand crafted, playful and artfully created food that is not only grounded in fundamental culinary techniques but our verve for the Avant Garde. We make everything we can in-house using the best possible ingredients. By sourcing from local farms and fisheries, and partnering with those who take our same care and approach to their own harvesting and herding—we offer food that is fresh, seasonal and artisanal.
Artisanal Beverages
Bittersweet’s wine and cordial list have been hand selected to pair with both our cuisine as well as create the same interesting combinations found in our food. We feature and ever changing wine, beer and cocktail lists as well as spirits that represent both local companies and quality craftsmanship.

Our dinners were creative and delicious / our waiter was very personable and helpful. Other than how noisy it was, we enjoyed our dinner.

Loved the cozy fireplace, the amazing food and friendly service. Two fish dishes had run out so that was a bit disappointing. Desserts are an experience of delight to both eye and tongue!

The food was excellent. We had the special Short Rib plate and the hangar steak. Both were great. Finished it off with wonderful deserts. Only thing was the portions are fairly small for the price.

We tried the tasting menu with wine. It was excellent, along with attentive service I would give it a definite thumbs up.

One of the best restaurants in Denver. The service, the menu, the ingredients, all outstanding. The flavors are really special too. The drinks are really creative too, it's a treat. The prices are really reasonable too, thanks.

We had another obligation later in the night so our reservation was at 5pm, they literally unlocked the door for us. Realizing this should be the freshest, best meal time of the day, ours was excellent. Definitely will go back again. Our server told us they change the menu up often and I’m looking forward to new choices.

The menu, starting with the mixed drinks was very unique and appetizers and entrées offered a variety of fresh ingredients that are were a tasty combinations. My only complaint is I wish for a vegetarian dish and there wasn’t any options.

Dinner at Bittersweet was delicious. We ordered spaghettini and the asparagus salad for starters. Both were very good. For main course we had lamb shank and cornish hen. The lamb shank was huge and very tasty. Really good lamb. The cornish hen dish was a smaller plate but also quite good. Scrumptious meal.

Service was attentive. Negatives: I was disappointed that at 6:30 on a Friday night they were out of short ribs. How can that be!? A restaurant with a small highly curated menu should print their own menus each day and if the supplier showed up with inferior meat and the kitchen decides to drop a dish, then reprint the menu in house.

The ambiance was very nice, cozy lighting but not too dark, the music not too loud, and encouraged conversation at the table for most of our meal. Near the end of our time a large, raucous group came in and the sound level grew considerably. So with a full house perhaps the noise level is higher than what we (mostly) experienced.

Never knew a radish could be this interesting! WOW. Another great meal with excellent service ("sure, we will do a small pour for a second glass of wine"). So great; clearly our favorite restaurant in town.

We were a bit late for our reservation and they were extremely gracious in accommodating. As we entered the restaurant we noticed it was quant and a very lively room. The tables seemed pretty close to one another but not out of the ordinary. As we were greeted by the server she was very nice and seemed well versed in the menus. We did

Because of Restaurant Week two of us older couples traveled (we live in SW area) to Bittersweet to try something new. The food was excellent with lots of choices on the regular menu. I had the RW food, the other three had food from the regular menu. The regular menu was not pricey in our opinion but if you ordered a salad or dessert the price picked up. I enjoyed the RW selection also. We would go back in a minute, it was delicious. Luckily we arrived at 5:30 on a Friday night and it was quiet.. By the time we left ,the dining area was getting noisy thanks to the tables being close together and two woman at the table behind us. I would give it the top star rating.

It is restaurant week. I wanted to try something new. The food they served specifically for restaurant week was microsmall in portion, and not worth the money spent. It wasn't flavorful at all. For my first time there, I wasn't impressed.

The meal was good but not worth the money. The portions were tiny and we actually left hungry. Unfortunately, this appears to be an on-going issue with the other reviews I’ve read post visit. What a shame because the atmosphere is great and the food is tasty. After $125+ meal, we went home and had to have something else to eat.

This was an amazing dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. Drinks, service and food were exceptional. Our waiter did a little wine taster at our table and he was very accommodating. Only two small complaints, one of my three scallops was way over salted (but the delicious aioli helped it go down with ease) and they did not provide a non-red meat or vegetarian appetizer on the taster which was a bummer. But that was little in the grand scheme of things and we would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful dinner at Bittersweet. The waiter was very knowledgable about the wine we selected and helped us find all of the vegetarian options on the menu, even modifying one slightly to accommodate. It did get a little louder around 7pm, but we could still carry on a conversation.

Not quiet sure why this could be in the top 25 of Denver. Food is ok but over priced. And be careful with the street parking, most of the place is only for local residents with permit, we both get $ 25 ticket.

The only issue was the portion sizes. We wondered after we were finished if we actually got our monies worth. The ideas about food are great but I don’t believe when you convert these dishes to your main menu that you would serve them as slight as we experienced. The lobster and spaghetini were our favorites.

We really enjoyed dining at Bittersweet. Everything was prepared well and the service was very good. Wonderful flavor pallets accompanying the main dishes. Portions were on the smaller side but the quality of the ingredients made up for a smaller serving. We will come back again.

My wife an ate at Bittersweet about 3 years ago and left feeling that the food was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. Thankfully we returned last week to a pleasant surprise of excellent creative dishes from appetizers to dessert. Service was great as well. We will definitely be returning soon.
