The bittersweet team has an artisanal approach to hand crafted, playful and artfully created food that is not only grounded in fundamental culinary techniques but our verve for the Avant Garde. We make everything we can in-house using the best possible ingredients. By sourcing from local farms and fisheries, and partnering with those who take our same care and approach to their own harvesting and herding—we offer food that is fresh, seasonal and artisanal.
Bittersweet’s wine and cordial list have been hand selected to pair with both our cuisine as well as create the same interesting combinations found in our food. We feature and ever changing wine, beer and cocktail lists as well as spirits that represent both local companies and quality craftsmanship.

Lovely, attentive service and delicious cuisine from start to finish!
Waited about 15 min after being seated before we were given water or greeted by our server. Nice meal but that wasn’t a good first impression.
Tasting menu was once again beyond expectations.
Went here for my lady and I’s 4 year anniversary. The entire experience was fantastic. The food was out of this world and service was excellent. Thank you Garrett and staff for an unforgettable night!!
My out-of own-guests were impressed by our dinner on the patio. Bittersweet is a "sweet" restaurant. The service is superb, the ambiance delights and the food is very good, displaying artistic presentation.
Excellent service from Monet. The food was excellent
Food was lovely and the service was outstanding!
This is one of our favorite places to eat! The tasting menu is fabulous. I've never had a meal I didn't love. Treat yourself to Bittersweet!
Amazing. 2nd time back and its our new favorite place!
All around wonderful! Excellent food and service!
We enjoyed our first visit to Bittersweet. We sat on the side patio, not the one next to Alameda. Our server was great, food was very good, just expensive for what it was. The patio furniture ia showing its age, multiple light bulbs strung just above head height over the tables were broken with jagged glass & wires showing. It's just just not what I expected given all the 5 star reviews. With a little TLC it could easily deserve 5 stars.
Great, good attentive service. Halibut was lovely. Pork was slightly tough but good. Great staff. We’ll be back
Had the tasting menu on Thursday night. Food and service were both solid. Definitely one of the best dining options around for great food, wine and service. The wine pairings were spot on. For sure will return.
An elevated culinary experience with a variety of quality foods with unique twists
We went on a Thursday evening and enjoyed the tasting menu. The wait staff explained the wine pairings and each wonderful course. Definitely a neighborhood gem.
LOVED THIS RESTAURANT! I eat out a lot, and am picky. The food was wonderful (flavors, portions, plating all top-notch). The restaurant itself is very cute. Inside was a bit loud (acoustics), but had no trouble talking to and hearing my son. The patios look wonderful. I will go back and request an outside table.
The food was amazing. The staff was great as well. Very attentive and knowledgeable which is important to us since my wife is celiac. Awesome experience.
EVERYTHING we has was perfect. We tried six out of nine items on the starter menu and all were fantastic. Great drink menu and wine list. Very unique. Patio is a lovely place to sit when there is good weather. It was peaceful. This is definitely a place to try and return to. Probably one of the better dining experiences for us in the Denver area.
Food tasted really good. Presentation was spectacular. But portions for the price were horrible. A 4 oz fish filet for $37 or a 1/4 Cornish hen (about 3 bites) for $30 is not acceptable. We complained and got more but one shouldn’t have to do that. Wouldn’t recommend.
Excellent service. Pairing menu innovative and delicious. Neighborhood gem. Should be a top 10 restaurant!
Wonderful food prepared imaginatively and served by wonderful staff
Engaged wait staff - very pleasant and fun. Seemed to care what we were up to, and attentive to questions about the menu.
Nice ambiance - well I came early so we had the whole dining room to ourselves!
We’ve been to Bittersweet 4 or 5 times, and every time we go we are freshly impressed. The staff is always friendly and helpful when ordering. Their bartender is amazing- really innovative cocktails with varied ingredients and flavors, with a great (and reasonably priced) selection of wines by the glass and bottle. The food is fabulous, with a very farm-to-table vibe and some fresh takes on classic dishes. It’s one of those places where you can’t decide what to order because everything on the menu looks great. I think Bittersweet is underrated given the quality of every aspect of the dining experience.
I went to dinner with 2 friends, we had a great time. Our server was wonderful, very knowledgeable and helpful. We had 3 apps, 3 entrees and 3 desserts. The lobster tagliatelle was amazing. We actually liked everything, except the wagyu steak was our least favorite. We would definitely come back. We thought the bill was reasonable, we had all the food plus a bottle of wine, 2 addtl glasses and coffee. Bill before tip was $315. All in all, a great time.
This was my second visit with a good friend for a weeknight dinner. As always, the service was excellent. The wine by the glass was reasonably prices, and perfect with the food, We split the buratta to start; it was fresh, generous, and surrounded by yummy veggies and flavors. Then we moved on to the steak: also generous in portion, and perfectly cooked. It literally melted in our mouths! I have been to Bittersweet many times for other occasions, and the food is always interesting and excellent. This trip was no exception.
We finished off dinner with the chocolate dessert, which was not too sweet, and absolutely divine. We have agreed that this will be our go-to restaurant from here on.
Bittersweet is one of our favorite restaurants especially in the summer when you can eat in the garden. The food has always been good but it is improving all the time. The seasonal menu changes are excellent.
We love Bittersweet. Small menu is thoughtfully put together. Food is delicious. Preparation always a surprise. Smaller portions means you feel good when you leave vs. stuffed. Always a treat to dine here.
Started with the Spring risotto which was a very satisfying starter and also beautifully plated. The duck confit was crispy and succulent and the creme franchise was a pleasant accompaniment. Finished the meal with the bittersweet chocolate bar which was decadent and the perfect size. The bourbon milk shake was incredible! I think I’d like a giant version in the future. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I’ll definitely be returning on my next Denver visit.
We had a really delicious meal here. From start to finish, we felt really at home dining at Bittersweet. I will be back!
We were impressed with the innovative menu as well as the outstanding service. We started with the lobster tagliatelle and went on to mains of scallops with risotto and frisée and pork loin with waffle potatoes and relish. There were several large parties in the small(ish) back dining room, which made the noise level quite high. Though the outdoor spaces are off the parking lot and busy street, they look charming and inviting, and we hope to return later in the summer when we can enjoy dining al fresco!
Good service, good food but super noisy. Expensive for the lack of atmosphere.
What a wonderful meal! Went to dinner with two friends. We ordered two appetizers (to share), drinks and each ordered a main. Everything was perfectly prepared. Server was friendly, knowlegeable and on the spot keep drinks full, etc. Without being overly intrusive. Very impressed. We will be back for a third visit very soon!
This was a very weird experience. It was my bday-The waitress was nice yet she disappeared about 3/4 of the way through the mail. She never came back to see if I needed a drink...
Or anything else.
After my meal I sat there by myself for about 20 minutes waiting for the waitress. Soon after that, the hostess came up to me and handed me a dessert menu. I thought it was for my birthday dessert because I was alone and have never been in a restaurant that didn’t buy birthday dessert!… No the house just handed me the menu for $12 dessert for me to pay for my birthday dessert. You never asked me if I wanted dessert which is why I thought the waitress had sent her over to send me a piece of cake.
I wouldn’t go back
30 minute wait between 1st course and entree appearance. Entree temperature ranges between warm (not hot) and cold. When we told server she seemed annoyed, and when we declined to Sen them back (didn't want to wait another 20 min) she abruptly turned and walked away while my wife was still talking to her.
The food was delicious and tasted fresh. The service was excellent, and the cocktails were superb.
Incredible food and service
A great neighbourhood restaurant. If you drive, parking is a challenge.
Wonderful! Great for celebrating friendship and birthdays!
Creative menu with helpful staff!
