The bittersweet team has an artisanal approach to hand crafted, playful and artfully created food that is not only grounded in fundamental culinary techniques but our verve for the Avant Garde. We make everything we can in-house using the best possible ingredients. By sourcing from local farms and fisheries, and partnering with those who take our same care and approach to their own harvesting and herding—we offer food that is fresh, seasonal and artisanal.
Bittersweet’s wine and cordial list have been hand selected to pair with both our cuisine as well as create the same interesting combinations found in our food. We feature and ever changing wine, beer and cocktail lists as well as spirits that represent both local companies and quality craftsmanship.

Beautiful restaurant with lots of natural light. It was our first time there and for a special occasion. We were greeted with some complimentary champagne - so thoughtful. The mahi dish was heavenly and they did a great job working around my dairy allergy.
This is one of the most consistently great restaurants in Denver. The menu is small, but each and every item on it is thoughtful and seasonal and delicious. Beautiful plates, and always unique cocktails. The service is excellent.
As a wheelchair user it's extremely gratifying to find a neighborhood restaurant with great food and service that is willing to go out of their way to make parking and access as easy as possible. Thanks so much!
Service was mediocre and waiter rushed us out without offering dessert. Food was tasty.
Food was wonderful light and perfect. It was a little loud but we were in the front room don’t know how quiet the back room was
Great, creative food.
I think the wine list is difficult and doesn't offer a lot of choices in the wine by the glass.
When I mentioned this to my server, he found an off the menu option for me which was perfect.
Great food. Excellent service.
Food was great and service very good. We had to wait a bit for our table, but they picked up coffee and tea by way of apology. We would definitely go again.
Small but excellent menu. Food was delicious. Loved the beet salad! A little loud but overall a great place to celebrate a special occasion
We did the restaurant week menu with wine pairing for our anniversary - the food was melt in your mouth delicious and the service was warm and attentive. The wines were also quite nice.
One of the best places in Denver! Amazing food and service
Great food! We had a lot of dietary restrictions and they were able to customize some dishes to meet our needs. The service was amazing and the setting very warm and cozy.
We’ve come to Bittersweet since it opened, and have always enjoyed it. Our meal this evening was the best ever. Every dish was beautiful and delicious; perfectly prepared and presented. Loved it!
While this was not my first visit, sadly it definitely was my last.
My original request of seating by the window was ignored. The first table presented was too small and my guest was unable sit at when only then, we were seated at an open table (by a window) which seemed to make things appear toward the positive.
The wine selection our choice - not the best, but we fully take ownership of that. One of the starter appetizers recommended was served with a heavy side of al dente pasta.
At this point, we’re taking into account that the place was packed and perhaps the chef was rushed. Every ounce of excitement was left expecting a 5 star entree similar to the last visit and to yet our amaze -the entree of the short rib was 80 to 90 % fat and not something i could eat. I politely finished part of the entree’ accompaniments and decided that was it.
Upon actually getting a proper follow up from our waitress and the check I advised that the short rib was full of fat, her initial/ immediate response was short ribs are mostly fat. Well, that was my final wrong turn for the night with this establishment. Primarily I had been there before had the best dish and service now this, of second the table next to us (which is arms reach) ordered the exact same dish and you could clearly see a nice portion of lean short rib that should have been what mine looked like but was not, and last- to imply I don’t know or understand how a slice of meat is served was ridiculous and rude.
An quick offer of free dessert to remedy but then she just vanished with a note I will make sure to inform the chef. Of course declined dessert paid and tipped out being patrons and hope that others would have a better experience.
Amazing staff, incredible food and perfect atmosphere for a lovely dinner. Definitely will be back!
The Friday night crowd was a bit noisy but the food and service were very good.
Really good food and experience overall.
Awesome from start to finish.
Food was great! Service was mediocre and at times quite frustrating.
This was clearly a five-star experience. Every single dish was remarkable--excellent combination of tastes on beautifully prepared plates.
We have been to Bittersweet three times within 4 months ever since we discovered it last October. The Thursday tasting menu is impeccably executed flavor wise and presentation wise. The wine pairings are always delightful and well thought out. We have always had spectacular service there as well. One of our favorites for sure in Denver. We will keep coming back to Bittersweet!
Had a wonderful 4 course Valentine dinner here and loved every part of the evening.
I have eaten here many times and always am glad I have. It is one of a handful of consistently great dining experiences and has a warm and inviting ambiance.
And when the weather is nice, what a great patio!!
Great recommendations from the server, fantastic drink list, and very good food. Contemporary American well done.
Amazing service. Delicious, creative food and outstanding cocktails. Will be back.
The 4 course meal with wine pairing was excellent. The small plates were overall better than the entrees. The boudin blanc was perfect.
We love the Thursday tasting dinners. One of most creative chefs in town.
The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that my dietary restrictions are met while giving me delicious food! I appreciate their individualized approach to food preparation. Everything I’ve ordered at Bittersweet has been 100% wonderful!!
Fantastic food and service, beautifully presented!
great little place. Food was top notch and our server was exceptional dealing with both my elderly parents and young son at the same table. Had the boar. Loved it.
The Thursday night tasting menu never disappoints! It is always changing and the wine pairings are always spot on. We also enjoy the background music.
We were pleasantly surprised by this find. My husband took me out for my birthday dinner and this was the perfect special meal. We stuck to cocktails, appetizers, and desserts and we were not disappointed by any of it. The chefs' creations were amazing, the flavor profiles of everything we ate were unmatched.
This would be a 5 star if we would have had better service. Tried this restaurant for the first time so we ordered 4 different dishes for 2 people to share. Server didn’t ask how we wanted them spaced, so we just assumed they would course out the dishes appropriately. Instead she dropped ALL of the 4 dishes off at the same time. We ended up eating food that was supposed to be hot- lukewarm and the cold dish had crispy rice chips that got soggy. Flavors were all delicious and ambience was great. Would have loved to give the server feedback but she never asked us how our meal was.
Joe...our waiter who we have had before is FANTASTIC!
We went to Bittersweet to celebrate my husbands birthday. Upon being seated, our waiter brought us each a glass of sparkling wine to toast the birthday boy! It was delicious and so thoughtful. Dinner was fabulous and our waiter was top notch! Never disappointed with Bittersweet!
The food was good. It’s good to go with your girl friends. If I was to go with my husband he would leave hungry.
I haven't been to Bittersweet since they opened 8 years ago I think. Wow! It's going strong, we had a great experience. Tasting menu was amazing and so fun. Our server Jen was great too!
I've been to Bittersweet half a dozen times, and it has been consistently excellent. So good, that I would go out of my way to eat there.
The cocktails are unique and well thought out. The bar must be run by someone engaged in the excellece of the place because the cocktails seem to change seasonably. More than once, we've had the server pick a glass of wine to accompany one of our dishes, and the selection has been good.
My wife and I have found that the small plates offer the best bites. In particular, the pasta dishes are as good as I've ever had. They are all so spectacular that I wouldn't go there without ordering all of the pasta small plates. Five small plates, including three pasta dishes, will make a nice dinner for two (saving room for dessert). And the desserts have always been a cut above most of Denver's other well-reviewed restaurants.
Simply put, it is hard to go awry at Bittersweet. At least, I never have.
Had a lovely little date night with my husband here. Love the simple and fresh menu. Everything was cooked perfectly and I ate every morsel on my plate. Happy to have this place in walking distance to west wash park. Waitstaff paired a nice wine to go with our meal, and we we're able to cork the bottle and take it home. Dishes are on the more expensive side, but perfect for a special night
Food was delicious. Wonderful drinks. Agreed our desserts the highlight. But value for our meal? Way too much. Many other restaurants in town serve equally as fine a meal for less hurt on the bank.
