The bittersweet team has an artisanal approach to hand crafted, playful and artfully created food that is not only grounded in fundamental culinary techniques but our verve for the Avant Garde. We make everything we can in-house using the best possible ingredients. By sourcing from local farms and fisheries, and partnering with those who take our same care and approach to their own harvesting and herding—we offer food that is fresh, seasonal and artisanal.
Bittersweet’s wine and cordial list have been hand selected to pair with both our cuisine as well as create the same interesting combinations found in our food. We feature and ever changing wine, beer and cocktail lists as well as spirits that represent both local companies and quality craftsmanship.

The menu and food was outstanding and the vegetarian/vegan dinner is topnotch.
Taylor was a great server. Friendly and knowledgeable! Food fantastic. A great evening.
Very charming restaurant with a lot of different menu choices. I had my family in town and we went to Bittersweet and the service was great food, service, and cocktails!
I went to this restaurant for the first time on my birthday a few nights ago. It was incredible. The food was even better than I had imagined! We just got starters, but they were perfect and plenty of food for the two of us. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed dining here. I will absolutely be back!
Excellent and delicious menu and food with beautiful presentation. Lovely cozy atmosphere! We entertained out of town guests who are world travelers and they were so impressed! Service was outstanding too!
Bittersweet consistently puts out really special food. The restaurant is SO cozy. Because they are constantly changing up the menu they often are running out of the dishes I would prefer but I usually end up dining later. Their Thursday tasting menu is a FANTASTIC deal but it can sell out, the last time I went in at 7pm they were no longer serving it. The staff there are always very attentive and it really has a family atmosphere. A Denver gem!
We go every Saturday as a date night...old married couple and having fun discovering a new place each week. We will be back!!
A very nice evening We don’t always go there because the menu can get a bit off stream This one was spot on.
We love Bittersweet. The food was superb as always. Not really anything special for an Anniversary save a couple of kind “congratulations” ...but we enjoyed the evening as usual.
The thoughtfulness of people running this restaurant is always extraordinary. From the unique cocktails, wine pairing suggestions, seasonal food and beautiful plating, this restaurant is the best in Denver, hands down.
A great meal as usual.
We've never had a problem with noise but last night was different. There was an incredibly loud group of four sitting in the main dining room, the dining room that has the bar in it.
They were incredibly loud she it wasn't tolerable.
Our server quickly moved us to what I refer to as the back room, which was perfect.
The result, great meals and a very pleasant evening.
Bittersweet has been our favorite restaurant in Denver over the last 8 years. Even with the growth of Denver’s food scene, we still do not believe there is a restaurant that reaches Bittersweets food, drink and service quality. It’s an extraordinary staple and we will continue to support it (and enjoy every moment)!
Had a lovely evening! My favorite part was that the waiter did his magic without interrupting us much. He just served and cleared, only talking when he needed to. Refreshing!
appetizer sized entrees left a lot to be desired
Duck confit was DRY
very different experience that we had in a previous visit
Would NOT go back
Beautiful restaurant with lots of natural light. It was our first time there and for a special occasion. We were greeted with some complimentary champagne - so thoughtful. The mahi dish was heavenly and they did a great job working around my dairy allergy.
This is one of the most consistently great restaurants in Denver. The menu is small, but each and every item on it is thoughtful and seasonal and delicious. Beautiful plates, and always unique cocktails. The service is excellent.
As a wheelchair user it's extremely gratifying to find a neighborhood restaurant with great food and service that is willing to go out of their way to make parking and access as easy as possible. Thanks so much!
Service was mediocre and waiter rushed us out without offering dessert. Food was tasty.
Food was wonderful light and perfect. It was a little loud but we were in the front room don’t know how quiet the back room was
Great, creative food.
I think the wine list is difficult and doesn't offer a lot of choices in the wine by the glass.
When I mentioned this to my server, he found an off the menu option for me which was perfect.
Great food. Excellent service.
Food was great and service very good. We had to wait a bit for our table, but they picked up coffee and tea by way of apology. We would definitely go again.
Small but excellent menu. Food was delicious. Loved the beet salad! A little loud but overall a great place to celebrate a special occasion
We did the restaurant week menu with wine pairing for our anniversary - the food was melt in your mouth delicious and the service was warm and attentive. The wines were also quite nice.
One of the best places in Denver! Amazing food and service
Great food! We had a lot of dietary restrictions and they were able to customize some dishes to meet our needs. The service was amazing and the setting very warm and cozy.
We’ve come to Bittersweet since it opened, and have always enjoyed it. Our meal this evening was the best ever. Every dish was beautiful and delicious; perfectly prepared and presented. Loved it!
While this was not my first visit, sadly it definitely was my last.
My original request of seating by the window was ignored. The first table presented was too small and my guest was unable sit at when only then, we were seated at an open table (by a window) which seemed to make things appear toward the positive.
The wine selection our choice - not the best, but we fully take ownership of that. One of the starter appetizers recommended was served with a heavy side of al dente pasta.
At this point, we’re taking into account that the place was packed and perhaps the chef was rushed. Every ounce of excitement was left expecting a 5 star entree similar to the last visit and to yet our amaze -the entree of the short rib was 80 to 90 % fat and not something i could eat. I politely finished part of the entree’ accompaniments and decided that was it.
Upon actually getting a proper follow up from our waitress and the check I advised that the short rib was full of fat, her initial/ immediate response was short ribs are mostly fat. Well, that was my final wrong turn for the night with this establishment. Primarily I had been there before had the best dish and service now this, of second the table next to us (which is arms reach) ordered the exact same dish and you could clearly see a nice portion of lean short rib that should have been what mine looked like but was not, and last- to imply I don’t know or understand how a slice of meat is served was ridiculous and rude.
An quick offer of free dessert to remedy but then she just vanished with a note I will make sure to inform the chef. Of course declined dessert paid and tipped out being patrons and hope that others would have a better experience.
Amazing staff, incredible food and perfect atmosphere for a lovely dinner. Definitely will be back!
The Friday night crowd was a bit noisy but the food and service were very good.
Really good food and experience overall.
Awesome from start to finish.
Food was great! Service was mediocre and at times quite frustrating.
This was clearly a five-star experience. Every single dish was remarkable--excellent combination of tastes on beautifully prepared plates.
We have been to Bittersweet three times within 4 months ever since we discovered it last October. The Thursday tasting menu is impeccably executed flavor wise and presentation wise. The wine pairings are always delightful and well thought out. We have always had spectacular service there as well. One of our favorites for sure in Denver. We will keep coming back to Bittersweet!
Had a wonderful 4 course Valentine dinner here and loved every part of the evening.
I have eaten here many times and always am glad I have. It is one of a handful of consistently great dining experiences and has a warm and inviting ambiance.
And when the weather is nice, what a great patio!!
Great recommendations from the server, fantastic drink list, and very good food. Contemporary American well done.
Amazing service. Delicious, creative food and outstanding cocktails. Will be back.
The 4 course meal with wine pairing was excellent. The small plates were overall better than the entrees. The boudin blanc was perfect.
We love the Thursday tasting dinners. One of most creative chefs in town.
