BITE Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The food was well prepared and presented well. They only gave us bread if we asked for it which is a bit of a turn off. The service was excellent and the view is excellent though.
The seafood dish was very nice, the filet mignon was cooked to perfection but the food overall flavorless. It seems to be a place fit for people who prefer bland flavor but the texture is perfect.
My expectation was that Bite was a finer dinning hotel restaurant.
I expecting a more upscale restaurant given the rest of the hotel atmosphere.
So my expectation is the problem, not the restaurant.
The atmosphere was too pedestrian; however it was fine for what it was.
I may eat there again in a pinch. It was fine. Just not what I was hoping for.
My girlfriend and I wanted to try someplace different and we found BITE on OpenTable. Thank goodness it was here! I would have usually never considered looking for a restaurant in a hotel.
It didn't feel strange at all, it was open to the main interior of the building and it did give an artistic feel.
It doesn't seem to be a very busy place, but the service was excellent, the menu was simple, and the food and wine was great. Definitely a nice place for a relaxing dining experience!
Friday evening, one other couple in restaurant when we arrived, one came in as we were leaving. Felt awkward to have so few patrons. And given there were so few of us, the staff did an amazing job of hiding or carrying on their own conversations rather than providing good service. Food was good, bit pricey. Arugula salad was greens, olive oil, couple of tomatoes, a few bits of cheese. Salmon was good but serving size small and a few leaves of sorrel which was more garnish than market vegetable as on menu. Asparagus thin spears came out to $1@. Chicken with soba noodles was fine. Restaurant is hidden away in Murano Hotel, so walk in traffic doesn't happen. Nice setting with some artwork around, contemporary design. Menu has small plate offerings and entrees.
we were there for the glass on display in the hotel and had limited aspirations for the restaurant. that was incorrect: the food is excellent, the setting is festive, the ambiance is friendly and warm, the service was fine and unpretentious, [breakfast was as good and interesting as dinner] and the prices were shockingly reasonable compared to what we expect to pay in San Fran and environs. overall we were delighted.
When I am in Tacoma, I make it a point to try to get to Bite, especially if I have a friend who like poutine because they make some of the best I have ever had (I am not Canadian and I am not lying right now about not being Canadian). The gravy is Zinfandel and mushroom based and really out of this world.
Bite is a fine hotel restaurant. I would neither call the menu "limited" nor "robust", but I will say with confidence that if something on the menu sounds like you will like it, odds are good that you will.
The green market salad is packed with gorgeous veggies and most delicious. The truffle Mac N' Cheese is stupid good, but a potential gut bomb if you do not share or take some away. The salmon is fresh caught and was cooked to order but the portion seemed a bit small for $17.00 and it only had 3 new potatoes halved and some blanched greens (sorrel perhaps?) with a strawberry rhubarb gastrique.
We were there at 11:30AM on a Sunday and they serve breakfast until noon (it's a hotel restaurant) so we had to leave and come back (we really wanted lunch and we not drinking, so no cocktails). The hostess was gracious about this.
My take on the service is completely neutral. Our server perfectly competent taking our order and bringing us our food, but not terribly engaging... or maybe not terribly engaged in his job?...perhaps he was new to the position, or perhaps he is not long for this line of work. No complaints though.
Beer there is limited but they have an impressive looking list of signature cocktails.
Came for a birthday lunch a few months ago, now back with the husbands for a birthday breakfast/brunch. Once again we were thrilled with the food, the drink and the service. The smoked salmon eggs Benedict were "the best ever" and the vegetable hash was delightful....as was the breakfast sandwich devoured by my husband. The bartender/waiter was friendly and helpful. An extra bonus is all the beautiful glass exhibited in the Hotel Murano!! Oh yes....great Bloody Mary and excellent coffee!!
I stayed at Hotel Murano, which was lovely. and an unexpected pleasure was BITE restaurant on premises. The food was delicious - I highly recommend. The only con was that for dinner, the hostess did not seem to know what she was doing. One of us got a lunch menu and the other a dinner menu, which is why we could not figure out what each other was finding on the menu. She neglected to give us the evening special menu as well. So, once we got that all figured out with the waiter, all was fine.
Bite may not have a wide variety of food selection, but we went for my daughter 14th birthday with our family, 9 of us. We ordered filet mignon, clam appetizer bloody mary, hamburger slider, clam linguini, beef brisket and steak. They are cook to perfection, the meat all are wonderfully seasoned and cook very juicy and so tender. The bloody mary clams appetizers, sooo good, the sauce of the clam is delicious, We are so impressed. Thanks, Chef.
BITE is a gem of a restaurant that is upstairs from the lobby of the hotel Murano. My friend and I went there for Christmas eve lunch and it was quiet when we were there. They were gearing up for a huge party later that evening. But, the service was stellar! Our food was wonderful and the presentation was beautiful. I will definitely be going back!
My husband and I ate at "BITE" a few months ago and the food was good. We went there this past weekend and it was such a disappointment. I don't know what happened! A brief overview of our experience: The restaurant was empty, our starter salads were very small (3 cherry tomatoes and a few bites of lettuce for $6), our dinner took 45 minutes, my husband's food was burned and not edible. They were nice enough to comp our bill since the food was inedible. I will not be returning even though they were generous enough not to charge us.
This is our Mothers' selection for her birthday brunch for several years and once again, we were not disappointed. We had an excellent server, Mayra, who made all of us feel special and even sang Happy Birthday along with us. The food was delicious and HOT when it came to the table, and we had asked for a special booth and it was there waiting for us when we arrived. No wonder Mom loves Bite!
We were guests at the hotel and enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at Bite. Both meals were very nicely prepared and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. My dairy-free requirements were met without any difficulties when I asked. The service was exceptionally good. The servers were efficient and friendly with just the right amount of checking in. We felt very well taken care of. The design and look of Bite is very pleasing as is the rest of the Hotel Murano - very nice colors and sort of a cozy and open feeling at the same time. I highly recommend Bite if you are in Tacoma.
Wonderful food and the service was amazing. There were many patrons with a sight disability that were eating at the restaurant in various groups and the service provided by the restaurant staff was wonderful. Although it was very busy and the staff providing extra assistance our table never felt neglected.
While on business in the SeaTac area, we wanted to explore Tacoma and we're so glad to have found the Hotel Murano and BITE! The menu was Northwestern and delicious. I started my meal with a glass of recommended local wine - a great choice - and beet carpaccio. Yes, beet. And it was the best beet starter I've had to date (and I typically order it everytime I see it on the menu).
The service was impeccable and the kitchen was able to easily accommodate the other person in our party that had both a gluten and dairy allergy.
The food was horrible. I got the Albacore tuna and it was still frozen in the middle. The other food was so salty or so bland that I almost couldn't finish it. The service was abysmal.
I ate at the bar, and the TV was so far to the right that you could barely see it or hear it. Why even have one in there in the first place if you don't want to be watched?!
Horrible food, terrible ambience, and poor service. It's not going to shut down because it's inside of the great hotel and it's probably what they're counting on to stay open.
Went here as a special occasion and it was a treat! Gracious, attentive service. Fun Cocktails--try the blackberry martini, fabulous food. Salads were excellent, Salmon was the best we had all week (and we ate a LOT of salmon) and my son's burger was really really good. And you really can see Mt Ranier.
BITE has always provided us with an exceptional dining experience, and this visit was no exception. What really put it over the top was the location of our table and the stellar view it provided. There are no bad views here, but having Mt. Rainier framed in the center of a wall of glass was absolutely a perfect complement to the delicious food and the impeccable, affable service. This one is on our permanent YES list.
The Bite has a nice ambiance, but the food was mediocre. The appetizers of hot wings and flatbread were delicious and I would definitely get those again. However, I ordered the Halibut and it was overcooked and quite dry. The asparagus tasted smoky like it was charred without oil and salt, it was not very appetizing. My husband had the seafood pasta and it was okay, the scallops were cooked perfectly but the pasta itself was uninspiring and not well seasoned. The waitress was very attentive and we always had full water glasses. Overall it was a place I would probably come back to for happy hour but not for dinner.
