Always reliable, always good food and beverages and service
Pretty restaurant with soft music and great waitstaff. So I had high expectations, to which my meal didn’t live up. Duck paté appetizer was delicious, though the patéseemed to come directly from the fridge. Frisée Lardons salad had a room temperature poached egg on top, and was drowning in dressing. I sent it back and got a warmer egg, but the salad itself was simply overdressed. Crème Brûlée dessert was so sweet I couldn’t eat more than a few bites. Because these are classic bistro dishes, they should maintain a higher standard.
I've been going here for years and the menu is always executed very well. Love coming to this great neighborhood spot.
very nice traditional French bistro the three of us enjoyed the lunch and all items were delicious
This is a great little neighborhood spot. Familiar French comfort food.
We return again and again to this charming neighborhood restaurant. Never disappoints. Food is always very very good.
Exquisite...as always. Welcoming with delicious food in a lovely, romantic setting with outstanding service.
Very comfortable neighborhood bistro I will be back!
Food was delicious and service was great!
We love the ambience and local feel!
Bisto Zinc is a nice place for lunch. The food is good; service is professional and friendly. It's quiet enough for conversation, and usually not overly crowded at weekday lunchtime. I've been here often, and will continue to patronize this bistro.
The setting was perfect for a business lunch. A bit away from the hubbub, but still central, a quieter place with very satisfying food. The service was attentive and efficient. We had quiches of the day, soup of the day and a salad, and fries. My only tinge of sadness that the mayo that we asked for the fries was not an ailoi or homemade. but maybe that's being picky.
We live very close and this is without a doubt our favorite place “in the hood.” The food is always good, as is the service.
Celebrated our anniversary and were treated like royalty.
The food, the wine, the team - all top notch!
Had a business lunch here recently. I've been to Bistro Zinc a couple of times before and always had good food and a good time. This is well done, straightforward, classic French bistro fare. My business meeting counterpart said her quiche was the best she has ever had! Everything else quite good.
Enjoyed the lunch special. The lamb sandwich had just the right complement of watercress and pickled onion. The french onion soup was classic!
Bistrot Zinc is one of our neighborhood favorites. Wonderful crepes and desserts with nice portion sizes. The servers are friendly and helpful. We like this place because the noise level is reasonable so we can have a nice conversation as well as enjoy the great food.
Jenny (who waited on our table) and the host staff were all excellent, were very attentive and personable, made our Easter brunch special. Thank you
Waitress did her jib. Nothing outstanding.
What a wonderful evening. Most marvelous waiter. Best I’ve ever experienced.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city! It is a neighborhood gem.
Always consistent food and service. Bartender is great. Server was a pro.
The food is good, solid bistro food. Not to be missed.
Bistrot Zinc consistently provides good food, wine, service, and atmosphere. I feel relaxed here and the classic bistro fare never disappoints.
A beautiful space with a comforting vibe. Professional and attentive service. Overpriced, contractor-grade food. I had the steak frites. It should be a signature dish for a French bistro. It wasn’t. Tough to cut, even with a serrated steak knife. My disappointment doubled when the bill came.
This was my second visit and will come back many more times!
Great neighborhood restaurant, but now getting so popular is hard to simply stop in and have a bite at the bar. Good and bad... Not a spot for millennials, also good!
First timers. Pleasantly surprised with the evening. Food was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Will be back for sure!!
I travel to Chicago a couple of times a year. I make a point to hit this place every trip I make because the food is so dependable delicious. I love the atmosphere and the service too. Every neighborhood should a a Bistro Zinc. The world would be a better place.
Have always been a fan of Bistro Zinc and tend to visit nearly every time we're visiting Chicago - the food and service were great this time, just like all the others!
This is a great restaurant. The food was delicious, the decor authentic and the vibe was indeed vibrant. A fun place to discover and look forward to returning to for another great meal.
I always enjoy bringing new friends to the bistro; an easy wow for me, as everyone loves it. Amazing brunch choices that aren't over the top, accompanied by upbeat warm service and a great atmosphere. What more could you want for Sunday brunch?
The food was good but the salad with chicken had like two pieces of it and when asked for more chicken was charged $5.00.
Had to pay for bread as well. Too many extra charges. Wine was great.
All 3 in our party have an enjoyable experience and excellent food.
I have been going to Bistro Zinc for many years, primarily because it provided authentic French bistro food at a reasonable price. On this visit, I found Bistro Zinc to largely fulfil this role, with the marked exception on the cassoulet. The cassoulet was essentially some tasteless white beans with a leg of duck confit with some bread crumbs thrown on top, in contrast to what a real cassoulet should be- extremely disappointing to anybody who knows what a real cassoulet should taste like, and at least, a waste of money for someone who doesn't. The service, the salads, the wine, and the dessert were all otherwise great.
Always wonderful to come back to one of our Chicago favorites!
Bistrot Zinc never disappoints. The food is always superb -we particularly like the specials every month, which number about 10. Very good waiters who really make it easy to have a great night. Excellent music.
Great place to have a business lunch, quiet and great food!
The ambience lends itself to intimate, comfortable conversation and dining. The menu offers an enticing and varied selection of dishes, and everything we ordered was perfectly prepared. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. And Bistro Zinc has the ability to transport one out of the hubbub of city life into what feel very much like an inviting neighborhood gem.
We come here time and again because it is a good local French option.
We've been there several times and it's aklways a treat. Great ambiance, pluse food is grear and service is rhe best.
Qe're in the area and they will find us there aften.
