Always dependable and always good. If the weather is suitable, eat outdoors--very delightful but can be cool if the heaters are not in use and sometimes the service can be spotty as it may be difficult to find a waiter when you need one. Overall, a very good experience and doesn't cost an arm and a leg!! Ali is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Delicious food and we appreciated the nice and friendly service.
Service was very good. Food was delicious. Very good selections on menu to satisfy everyone in your party. Wine selection was good as well. Definitely worth trying.
What a gem! Came here on a sat night , it was very busy ! the food was great , highly recommend the oysters , the moules , and the hanger steak . The service was friendly and fast .
Upon entering Bistro Vida my wife & I were met by the owner and served a complimentary Mimosa. Outdoor seating was not available on this particular day, but we were shown to a nice table in the primary dining room.
Bistro Vida serves tasty food with good service at reasonable prices. The menu is varied, and diners have numerous options for appetizers, soups & salads, sandwiches, as well as entrees. We were most satisfied with our selection of a Bistro burger with French fries and a Quiche Lorraine.
This restaurant is good choice for brunch, lunch, or dinner. We'll definitely return in the near future.
Excellent ambiance, consistently delicious food. Great menu choices. Proprietor takes a personal interest in clients, and is there almost nightly to oversee his well run establishment. One of our favorite restaurants on the Peninsula. A little bit of France in Menlo Park❣️
This was our go-to restaurant for lunch, but twice now it's been just ok. Last time one person ordered the boeuf bourgonogne, and the meat was ok, not great. And this time we had a slightly disappointing experience which could have been avoided - we wanted to try the asparagus soup, but knew that the lunch was more than adequate, so asked if we could purchase a container of the soup to go because it sounded so good. They explained that they don't have containers for the soup. We were disappointed, but even more disappointed that they didn't come back with a small (maybe a shot glass) taste of the soup so we could try it. And we're regular customers! We will be looking for a new go-to restaurant!
The food is of modest quality, so do not expect much. The service is poor. Even when the restaurant is not full, a diner has to flag down servers or even get up from the table to get their attention. The only advantage of this restaurant is that it is open on Mondays. This was the sole reason why we chose it as it is uniformly disappointing.
This is a the most authentic French food in Menlo Park. The owner takes care of every guest even if he is not your server. Great for business lunch, amazing out door dining. Feels like Europe all over again. I'm here at least once a week for dinner and 2 or 3 times for lunch, that good.
Brought my mom for Easter. They were busy but winding down from what appeared to be a steady flow of business all day. Ali took good care of us and we all enjoyed our meals. Loved the Coq au Vin and the Porc Creme Fraiche with potato gratin was divine!
Enjoyed the meal
Easter brunch. Menu was very good but service outside was terrible today.
Easter Brunch. Good food. Owner very nice.
I had been to Bistro Vida a few times before and we recently went again for my dad's birthday. Everybody had great time, loved the food (I got Couscous Royale and it is perfect!) and the service was great. Highly recommend!
Bistro Vida is always great. Indoors is great, but we love it when it is warm enough to sit outside.
Sunday Brunch - so many tasty options to choose from. Everything was delicious.
This restaurant is consistently excellent. Service staff are quick and efficient. Food is well plated and the freshness interesting combination of flavors really satisfy. Nice variety of traditional and more unique French dishes. The gnocchi and BOEUF BOURGUIGNON is perfectly cooked and generous portions. Wine selection is outstanding. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.
It was perfect. Waiter overheard me saying it was my boyfriends bday and brought a free dessert with candles for him. So sweet! They got my heart and I will definitely come back.
The Bistro Vida experience was outstanding from the moment we made the reservation to the moment we left the restaurant. The food is excellent - we had trouble making a choice from the great menu and are in our party were happily satisfied. I want to return soon!
Dinner was fine except my roast chicken was not browned and didn't look very appetizing. However, it was cooked thoroughly and tasted good. Also, it was St. Patricks Day but there was no corned beef and cabbage special.
Nice service, tasty food. Popular place so it was crowded AND NOISY.
Excellent ambience and food, try the Beef Bourguignon and the Filet of Pork
My friend and I each had French Onion Soup and a salad. The soup was quite nice and the salads were delicious. I had hot tea and she had a Sprite. Ambiance was nice and the waiter was good. It was a bit spendy for lunch, $54, for the two of us. Nice place but I might go somewhere else for soup and salad for lunch for a lower price.
Dinner for 5. Owner took great care of us. Very nice dinner. Great service.
This was my second visit to this restaurant and can't wait to return. Both of my visits were with a group of friends. We all enjoyed the excellent food along with good wine and drinks. The wait staff was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The restaurant was moderately busy but quiet enough to be able to have conversations. Looking forward to returning soon.
It just doesn’t get any better.
Bistro Vida was excellent! Early dinner with friends. This strikes me as a true French restaurant. The french onion soup was the best I've had in ages. I would return just for that! All our dinners were wonderful and we finished with the lemon tart. Absolutely delicious!
It’s our go to restaurant. Always great food..love the owner & staff is always attentive.
This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We're "Francophiles" so we enjoy speaking a little French to waiters and their authentic French menu.
Couscous and merguez sausage with their harissa is really nice, the harissa tastes home-made. The ambiance is always delightful.
Wonderful food and great service! Highly recommend the escargot and the scallops. Good place to celebrate a birthday or other special event.
Very traditional French. Great Cassoulet. Love the Couscous royale as well.
Ali remembered that we were celebrating a couple of the gals birthdays and brought champagne for us. He also seated us in an area away from the tables close to each other, so we can have private conversations. We ordered what was on the lunch menu - the french onion soup was rich and tasty with tons of cheese on top. I had the steak sandwich and I had to take half of it home; same with the quiche that another ordered. The veggie open faced sandwiches were also very delicious.
As usual, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Bistro Vida. I almost always have the salmon, which is fresh and comes with vegetables cooked just right. She had the boeuf bourginogne and again thoroughly enjoyed her meal. She would have liked more veges, though.
Try the specials! Decent clean food
Wonderful French food and warm staff, reasonable prices
Valentine’s Day date
Booked a large table in advance. They did not set a table to fit us. When I asked for some changes, they said it’s too hard because it’s Valentine’s Day. I made the reservation over a week in advance. Not acceptable.
Great food and service. Way to go
The food and service were great but the restaurant was deafeningly noisy. That is a real problem!!
