Excellent ambience and food, try the Beef Bourguignon and the Filet of Pork
My friend and I each had French Onion Soup and a salad. The soup was quite nice and the salads were delicious. I had hot tea and she had a Sprite. Ambiance was nice and the waiter was good. It was a bit spendy for lunch, $54, for the two of us. Nice place but I might go somewhere else for soup and salad for lunch for a lower price.
Dinner for 5. Owner took great care of us. Very nice dinner. Great service.
This was my second visit to this restaurant and can't wait to return. Both of my visits were with a group of friends. We all enjoyed the excellent food along with good wine and drinks. The wait staff was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The restaurant was moderately busy but quiet enough to be able to have conversations. Looking forward to returning soon.
Bistro Vida was excellent! Early dinner with friends. This strikes me as a true French restaurant. The french onion soup was the best I've had in ages. I would return just for that! All our dinners were wonderful and we finished with the lemon tart. Absolutely delicious!
It’s our go to restaurant. Always great food..love the owner & staff is always attentive.
This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We're "Francophiles" so we enjoy speaking a little French to waiters and their authentic French menu.
Couscous and merguez sausage with their harissa is really nice, the harissa tastes home-made. The ambiance is always delightful.
Wonderful food and great service! Highly recommend the escargot and the scallops. Good place to celebrate a birthday or other special event.
Very traditional French. Great Cassoulet. Love the Couscous royale as well.
Ali remembered that we were celebrating a couple of the gals birthdays and brought champagne for us. He also seated us in an area away from the tables close to each other, so we can have private conversations. We ordered what was on the lunch menu - the french onion soup was rich and tasty with tons of cheese on top. I had the steak sandwich and I had to take half of it home; same with the quiche that another ordered. The veggie open faced sandwiches were also very delicious.
As usual, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Bistro Vida. I almost always have the salmon, which is fresh and comes with vegetables cooked just right. She had the boeuf bourginogne and again thoroughly enjoyed her meal. She would have liked more veges, though.
Try the specials! Decent clean food
Wonderful French food and warm staff, reasonable prices
Valentine’s Day date
Booked a large table in advance. They did not set a table to fit us. When I asked for some changes, they said it’s too hard because it’s Valentine’s Day. I made the reservation over a week in advance. Not acceptable.
Great food and service. Way to go
The food and service were great but the restaurant was deafeningly noisy. That is a real problem!!
Met friends for lunch, and we ate outside. Good soups, salads and sandwich offerings. Their mushroom soup was excellent! Fresh & favorable salads. Friendly & attentive service. Will definitely dine there again.
An old friend was visiting us, and we wanted a restaurant with a wonderful ambience, great food and not as noisy as most places in the area. Bistro Vida was the perfect choice.
We all had different but equally tasty salads, excellent main courses: strip steak, steak frites and coq au vin. Helpful but not overbearing service. We sat outside which was pleasant and made it easy to conduct our business meeting.
Amazing ambience, perfect outside seating, service was excellent, accommodating, and patient. The food tasted wonderful, and dessert was perfectly sweet.
Last minute outing after long day at work and the ambiance and food was cozy and warm. Everyone in the room was having a great time. Started with Fondue and concluded with Banana and Rum Crepes!
Very good food, ambience and service. Recommend for any kind of occasion.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Bistro Vida. Really good food and the service and ambiance was just what we hoped for. Will definitely recommend.
I've been the Bistro Vida a number of times before and that's why I chose it for a reunion lunch with two friends. The service was great but the food for two of us was disappointing. Two of us had the quiche and the quiche was very shallow and not much flavor other than bacon and the salad was very small and short on dressing. I've had much better quiche elsewhere. We had creme brulee for dessert and the texture was not very pleasing. I don't know how soon I'll return.
I always love it here.
Nice ambience. Great food. Owner was exceptionally friendly.
Always satisfied. I’ve brought many friends for the first time and they all make it a regular place to go.
Bistro Vida is a good choice for delicious food and very good service. My wife and I enjoyed the beef bourgeon with a glass of champagne. Prices are a bit high, but within reason for downtown Menlo Park.
Great neighborhood restaurant.
Authentic, delicious french bistro food... Excellent service ... The food is always good and the staff friendly
Our family always thinks of going here when we want a nice simple authentic French food evening. Never been unhappy with the experience.
Christmas Eve dinner. The owner is gracious and remembered us from Christmas Eve three years ago. We love this place that reminds everyone of Paris. A gem.
Best overall restaurant in downtown Menlo Patk. Consistently very good service, food, and ambiance!
This was our second time at the restaurant and it was not as busy as the first visit so the noise level was more tolerable. Both dishes were okay, nothing great and the minimal staff was stretched thin trying to take care of all the tables. Will not return.
This is a cute place and our hopes were up, but for a French bistro the food was sub-par, the service almost non-existent, and there was a loud "girl's night out" crew in the back of the restaurant that reverberated loud laughter all through the restaurant. Made it hard for any of the other patrons to even have nice conversation. Maybe this was a bad night, but this place seems like it is loud by design (or lack of design).
A great bistro! Just like downtown Paris! Authentic bistro.
Everything we have eaten there has been excellent.
I ordered the Salad Nicoise which was topped with a thin grey piece of tuna that was not fresh. The majority of the salad was comprised of chopped cucumber. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich which he considered it a 'safe' choice, but it was followed by a weak tasteless cup of coffee. Our guest ordered the quiche and barely touched it. The restaurant smells heavily of cleaning products. The ladies room was dark and smelled like mildew. Not a pleasant dining experience.
