Baby Kale Salad was amazing!
I will give it another try due to the service, drinks and cheese board. However the mac and cheese with short ribs had no cheese. The macaroni was dry. The risotto with scallops was under cook. Scallops were great but risotto should be fully cooked.
Very nice place with a great atmosphere and high service levels.
The service, personnel and ambiance were excellent. The food, however, was not. The filet was small, not tender or smooth, had an overcooked exterior and was overpriced. The halibut portion was very small and overpriced.
It was our first time at the restaurant. Very disappointed in our evening. First our server had no personality and acted as if she didn’t want to be there. She never asked if we had dined there before. She never guided us through the menu and offered suggestions in any capacity. She got an attitude when we didn’t want to give our order all at once. It was a special occasion for us and they never asked if we were celebrating or what brought us in. With that price point they should be more professional. Very disappointed.
We have known of Bistro VG for years, but just never went. My wife and I babysat our grandchildren on Valentine’s. So we celebrated on Friday, the 15th. Our experience was great there. We shared a lobster tail as an app along with salads. Awesome! Our server was the great mix of enthusiasm and professionalism. Our mains were great but the cherry bread pudding was one of the best desserts anywhere. Also worth mentioning is the wine and cocktails were terrific. Will not be long before we’re back.
This place was the cherry on top for Valentine’s Day.
GOOD FOOD BUT SMALL PORTIONS FOR WHAT YOU PAY NOT WORTH IT
Delicious meal and quite a festive atmosphere. Great for special occasions. This was the first time we tried the pizza and it was excellent.
Fantastic service fabulous flavors and impeccable service.
This place gets 5 stars from me! The ambiance is super serene and warm; candles and soft lighting accompanied by white brick walls.
The food was excellent. I recommend the truffle fries and the duck patè. Also the ribeye with the puréed potatoes was mouth watering. It was a large portion, enough for two.
It’s got a great atmosphere, lively scene and a convenient location in the heart of Roswell.
Was 1/2 hour late in being seated to our table past reservation time.
Servers not professional. Our bread came after our meals were consumed and no one from staff came to ask how our meal was.
Food however was excellent. May give restaurant one more chance to see if any change in service.
The food at VG was, as always, very good. However, the service was uneven. The main course was brought before we finished the appetizer. The waiter was not as attentive as VG waiters usually are. To top this off we were seated closed to a large table - 11 woman celebrating a birthday - who were extremely loud making conversation especially difficult. Management came and walked through the area several times without doing anything. There were other open tables in other areas of the restaurant where we, and the others, could have been seated. We also observed amateurish serving at a table near us where the wait staff could not get the correct dish to the proper diner (there were only 4 people at the table).
Great place for date night or any social gathering....Love the food and the service is outstanding.
Bistro VG has a great atmosphere. We like the variety of the menu, preparation of the dishes and very professional service.
A fine quiet, romantic place. It is getting harder to find a quiet place with good food. This fills the bill.
It’s Roswell Restaurant Week and we thought we’d experience it at one of our longtime local favorites, VG Bistro. We made an early reservation as we’d both had long and taxing weeks. The service was incredibly rushed, the food was mixed (of the six dishes - two 3 course menus - we thought one was good, two were average and three we’d never order again). One of the servers scraped and stacked the dishes at the table. It was so bad and so not what we’ve come to expect from this restaurant over almost two decades that we both actually laughed about it. I’m hoping this was just a totally “off” night and not a trend.
They were running more than 30 mins behind for an 8:30 pm reservation.
The interior is attractive but amplifies sound so even at a two-top we could barely hear each other.
The food was mediocre at best in flavor and presentation.
We missed the movie we planned to see afterwards because the service was so slow. In fairness, our waitress was very good. The rest of the operation really seemed to struggle, especially the front of house that really had problems seating people. They didn’t give you any information unless you asked even though we were forced to practically stand on top of them for more than 30 mins. Really looked out of control. Could have been worth it if the food (I had lamb and my husband had the pork chop) had been stellar, but instead it was disappointing.
We got seated pretty late, but they brought us a lovely complementary appetizer without our mentioning anything. They were apologetic and very gracious and the meal was lovely. We look forward to next time.
Only one thing went very wrong, we waited 45 minutes to be seated. Everything else was outstanding as we know it from the many times we went to this restaurant.
VG was very busy on a Saturday evening, and we had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time before we were seated. Drinks were brought quickly, but it was then another 45 minutes before our order was taken. The noise level was very high at first, enough to be difficult to converse, but after 8:30 pm it was more tolerable. Our server was very friendly and professional but quite busy.
We all ordered different combinations from the prix fixe menu, and everything was excellent and a good value for three courses. I particularly enjoyed the short ribs. The regular menu items and the wine list seemed a bit pricey. For a French bistro, there also weren’t many French wines available and everything was generally 3-4x retail prices.
We took advantage of the Roswell Restaurant Week special. The food was excellent. The rooms are a bit loud, which really is a testament to the popularity of the venue. We will return.
As usual, very good. Haven’t been disappointed yet.
Very loud atmosphere. Mot a good date night place due to noise level. But okay if going with a large group as that seems to be what primarily goes there these days.
Food and service was outstanding! My server had really good suggestions for wine pairings with the meal. The steak was cooked perfectly, and hand cut fries with a truffle aioli that had just the right hint of truffle.
If you’re going to have dessert, the tiramisu is a must!
We had an excellent dinner Friday night. The food was great. Our server, Kristin, went beyond to make our experience particularly nice.
My biggest problem with the whole experience was that it was a slow night at the restaurant and the service was just as slow. We had to find a server to ask for drinks and then waited for what seemed an eternity for the drinks to be delivered. We were sitting at the community table which was right next to the bar and could see that they were just not filling our drink order. Ordering food took just as long. Once we ordered, everything went very smoothly and though our server was slow initially, she was very attentive after. The food was fabulous and all in all the evening was a success.
Wonderful food. A bit pricey but to be expected from a high end French bistro. My waiter,Terry, was very pleasant.
David our waiter was exemplary!! His attention to detail amazing. We were celebrating 2 UPSers retirement the complimentary champagne was such a classy touch! I’ve been go to this restaurant for probably 10 years now and have NEVER been disappointed!! Such a special evening!! Thank you again!
One of our favorite restaurants. Had Pear Martini which was very novel and quite good. A little disappointed in the Pork Chop as it was a little overcooked even though I asked for "juicy." Wife had lollypop ribs which were very good as usual. Our friends had an octopus small plate that was very disappointing having a strange taste. It was returned and we were not charged.
This was my first trip to Bistro VG in quite a while. The greeter was very professional. The bartender was very personable and also very helpful in answering questions about the menu. The crab cakes are still the best in town. I would definitely go back for more!
The food is fresh and delicious. The menu is varied with fantastic specials. I enjoy both lunch with the girls and dining with colleagues. The decor is beautiful with a cozy atmosphere.
we had an outstanding birthday dinner where we celebrated 2 birthdays in our family.
our server was really great and very attentive. we will be back. thank you
Luncheon. Very welcoming place Everyone very helpful. Food very good. Plan to visit for dinner
VG is by far one of our favorite restaurants for sievoak events or a nice evening out. The service, food and ambiance is always impeccable. The calamari, seafood and meat dishes are well prepared, served at the ideal temperature and well prepared. We have never had a disappointing experience and always leave satisfied. The desserts are superb as well and great for gluten sensitive diners. Note: make reservations in advance and weekend eves it is busy and less quiet, however quality and quantity of food are well worth it.
The food was very good except the dessert. The dessert wasn't bad but was not representative of what we we ordered. We had the biegnets and flourless chocolate cake. Both were very different than traditional.
The service was extremely slow. We arrived at 6:30pm. We ordered a glass of wine and an appetizer. We received those and finished that by 6:50-7:00pmish. We then ordered dinner. We received our main course at 8:20pm. It was my wife's birthday (included that info on the OpenTable reservation). Instead of comping us a glass of wine, appetizer or dessert for the extreme delay they they were so generous they gave us an 1/8 of a glass of champagne each.
Has really deteriorated in ambiance and food selection/presentation. Disappointed
Love Bistro VG, always a great experience, great food and outstanding service.
Service was very slow and some plates were not hot when they arrived
