Bistro Vendome - NYC Ratings and Reviews
Bistro Vendome is authentically French, from the moules to the frites. While everything is delicious, I love the chicken so much that it's hard to have anything else ... but we have tried an array of their foods and never been disappointed. It's comfortable, unrushed, and elegant.
We met friends for dinner, we were well received and had the opportunity to have conversation without speaking over any noise level in the restaurant. The food was well prepared and flavorful. We loved the choice of mussels, the pomme frit, and the onion soup.
Never fails to please my wife and me. Varied menu, superb fish soup, good Bordeaux by the glass. The chef gets better and better. it is also a very civilized place, low noise level and courteous service. I sometimes eat alone at the bar and enjoy that as well.
When the bread eventually came it was stale. The wine also took a long time to arrive. The service was intermittent and slow in general. The food quality, in general had declined since our last visit. The quenelles, for example, were doughy and dry. Too bad, as we live nearby. We’ll reluctantly move on to one of the several competing NY French bistros.
We had a lovely Sunday dinner with another couple. The food and service was excellent. I liked the tuna tartare and the bronzino but all the dishes ordered were good. WE intend to return often. The restaurant is conveniently located in the Sutton Place area.
The food was delicious. A bit pricey, but for your average customer I'd say it's a nice night out for a special occasion. The server was very polite and quick. I generally consider myself a bit out of place in fine dining areas but I felt comfy here. The portions for the food are adequate for the average person. The champagne was also delicious. I would say overall it's a good date night spot. I could see myself eating here every other month.
I had lunch here with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience. The food was authentic French provincial and was flavorful and tasty. The ambience was so French, the service so friendly and the garden dining made us feel that we were in an oasis in the middle of New York City. I will definitely be going back soon to sample the dinner menu. Thank you Bistro Vendome!!
The food was delish but I only gave it a "good" rating as the egg on the frisee salad was a tad done (the yolk should have served as dressing but this did not happen). We also had the scallops and risotto which were among the specials for the day. The flavors were spot on but the scallops were overcooked.
the service could have garnered an outstanding review if only the catsup we asked for were delivered the first time we asked.
My friend and I returned because we had a fine experience last year, and because we both remembered the fantastic sea scallops, which we ordered again and which were, again, fantastic.
Entire meal was wonderful and there was, as before, a cheerful, friendly feeling from patrons. Service was fine, even during peak time.
