This is definitely our go to restaurant. It never disappoints. The food is consistently excellent. There is usually something new and delicious on the menu. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list is great with a wonderful selection.
The “icing on the cake” is the beautiful outdoor space that is used from May until it becomes it becomes to chilly to eat outdoors.
All in all a wonderful dining Experience
Wonderful food, ambiance, service! Thank you.
love the food, the owners, the ambiance, toute!!!
We bring friends, they go back with friends.
Popular but manageable.
Staff is welcoming. Food is very good and the lighter side yet still French-original. Pleasant, low key atmosphere.
Quiet, pleasant, local (somewhat out of the way) French resto. Good food, fine service. Prices are good. Well worth the extra steps on the not quite Upper East Side.
Great food and good service. I liked the grilled branzino.
This is usually a place for a quiet dinner but we were unfortunately seated next to a large, very noisy group which made it unpleasant. It was early and the restaurant was still quite empty but they just took over.
We left as soon as we could.
I very much like this restaurant and enjoy bringing guests, who always love it. The quiet ambiance and the good food are much appreciated. One issue: I have had the salade niçoise a number of times. I always ask for the tuna rare and on a number of occasions it has been overcooked, as happened yesterday (though it was still delicious).
Bistro Vendome never lets us down. Always delicious food (roast chicken is a favorite) with tempting daily specials and excellent service.
Easter lunch
The best food in the neighborhood . Mussels are amazing. Great service
I’ve been here many times. We had an early reservation so we wouldn’t be rushed. We were chatting and relaxing after paying our check (which we did not request), when the Maitre d’ politely asked us to leave because “someone was waiting for our table”. I generally have little problem with this request if an establishment is fully booked l, but there were many empty tables. These particular patrons wanted OUR table. I found this to be totally disrespectful. The waiter actually retrieved our coats and had a bus boy standing there before we even arose.
The staff was nice, the service was great and the food was amazing.
Great local restaurant with large circle of regulars. Owners are very friendly; staff usually accommodating. Food consistently good. Among best mussels in town. But, can’t go wrong with anything on the menu
A good stable neighborhood gem.
Great food
Nice French neighborhood place
I love this restaurant-- welcoming, warm, reliable, delicious.
I liked the tuna tartare and the bronzino. However all the appetizers and entrees are good.
We all really enjoyed our meals. I now consider BV a true neighborhood gem. Consistently very good food and lovely service. Our favorite in the area .
We thought the food was very good. The beet and goat cheese appetizer was delicious. However, the service was slow. We waited too long for our order to be taken and had to chase down our check. It felt as though the B team was on the evening we were there. We would definitely return for the food and hope that the service would be better.
My absolute favorite neighborhood French restaurant. Close your eyes and you could be in France. Delicious cassoulet, authentic boeuf bourguignon.
The profiterolles are my idea of the perfect dessert.
Excellent for both lunch and dinner.
The food is always consistently tasty . The specials of the day very good ,
the hanger steak, mussels and tarte aux pommes are delicious
This is one of the best restaurants in the city.
The food and the service is outstanding!
Date night with my wife, we come here a lot because the food is really good. Best Tuna Tartare ever!
My wife loves their Steak Tartare. This is also the only place I get their specials regularly. Our go to .
I love Bistro Vendome. The food is always good, drinks well made (but wine is expensive) and I like the service. No one rushing us to leave early. I've been several times this month, mostly for Monday oysters, but I always get the artichoke salad and/or scallops or mussels.
Love the varied layout from casual pub entry to elegant dining areas and even seasonal outdoor seating. Looking forward to my next trip.
First visit was an excellent choice it was old friends doing business the perfect relaxed but formal atmosphere. Thank you!
From the moment I walked in, I felt I was in Paris. Amazing smells were emanating from the kitchen, and the very professional maître d' and waitstaff kept passing by with plates that looked delicious. Was hard to choose from many appealing menu options, especially since classic French specialties done authentically are hard to find in NYC nowadays.
We opted for wine by the glass, and both enjoyed our French red selections.
Everyone I have taken to this restaurant has loved it and wanted to go back.
Great food, service is good, always satisfied! Plenty of tables!
After a very busy and cold Saturday, we were lucky to get a reservation (probably the last one for the evening) on Open Table for Bistro Vendome and it was a real treat to sit down and enjoy a delicious meal in comfortable surroundings and experience excellent service. It has become our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
I hadn't been to Bistro Vendome for awhile, and must say it'll be a long time before I return. I was disappointed in the coq au vin. The chicken was dried out and the sauce dark, but tasteless.
The service was friendly and professional.
I used to go to Bistro Vendome a couple of times a month and knew a lot of the staff. On Friday night I didn't see one familiar face. Which leads me to the obvious-has the restaurant changed ownership or management? If so, the quality of what used to be a friendly neighborhood restaurant will be sorely missed.
Had a lovely table for two downstairs. The service was attentive, and the food delicious. Had the tuna tartare and the Thai mussels. Both were outstanding.
I did a search for a last minute brunch in the neighborhood and found this little hidden gem. The food was delicious and had the best flavor. I found the prices to be below average, especially for the quality of food I received. The gentleman running the front of house was the most attentive to the customers I have seen in a long time, not to mention I admired his choice in bow tie.
What appeared to be a small quaint restaurant from the outside was actually a rather large layout with many different setting options and atmospheres.
I will definitely be back when the weather is better to enjoy the terrace, and to try frog legs for the first time.
Excellent. Unexpected value
Food was first rate from start to finish. Nice table, attentive staff
An absolute winner.
Beautiful dining room, great food, wonderful service. Perfect in every way.
Very enjoyable bistro experience.
Excellent menu.
A fine place to dine and discuss personal and/or business matters with a friend or colleague.
Fish was underdone and bloody.
They did not charge us for the fish
Special liver dish was excellent. The Hostess and waiter were friendly and attentive and a rarity in New York dinning the waiter bought me a drink in appreciation for a compliment my date made of the excellent service.
