   It was my wife’s birthday and you guys made it really special with the note and dessert! Loved everything from the staff to the amazing food! I’ll be back for sure!

    Everything was great. The only problem was my wife's Beef Wellington. Her first bite was is a fatty part and she did not finish it. Good thing they have to-go boxes. It was Mother's Day meal so she was disappointed. The rest of the food was great.

    It was amazing! We took my Mother in law and her husband to celebrate Mothers Day. The food was exquisite and the service was exceptional. Would not change anything about the experience. Definitely will be going back to bring friends, occasions and next time will bring our own bottle of wine! One of the only places in Birmingham you can bring in own bottle of wine!

    Wonderful time my partner and I sat at the bar and had excellent service. Food was very good but lacked a little salt. The charred octopus was fabulous. Will definitely return on my next visit to Birmingham.

    Our family was celebrating Mother’s Day. The service and ambiance were excellent but the food itself was fair. Our reservations were at 5 PM so we opened the restaurant on Saturday. Disappointingly, our entrees were not hot but barely warm. It almost seemed as if portions of the plate were pre-plated and sitting to get ahead of the rush. We almost sent our meals back but didn’t want to make a fuss since it was a celebration.

    Service was pretty good overall. Waiter said he would get us bread, but didn't bring it until we asked after about 20 minutes. I ordered the Tournedos au Poivre to be cooked medium (well), they were brought to the table RAW. Good thing my date liked raw, so we switched plates. I wasn't going to send it back because she insisted on having it and we had already waited over a half hour for the food. I ended up with the Wild Gulf Shrimp and Vegetable Risotto, which was good. For the high price of the meals, I expected them to be cooked to order and bit more timely. The drinks from the bar were perfect at least and our server was good on refills. Probably won't go back because I can't trust the cook for that high of price.

    This is our favorite restaurant in Birmingham. We had the redfish with fried okra and grits. My wife had a salad and I had the gumbo. All were simply amazing. We enjoyed having the wine steward come by the table and help us select the perfect bottle of wine. All in all a tremendous experience. We highly recommend this restaurant

    We'd never been to Bistro Two Eighteen but had a really nice time and would definitely go back. Great service, amazing food. Was a nice restaurant but also didn't feel out of place in jeans. The market salad and Beef Wellington were both fantastic.

    Well, the real question is what part of our experience wasn’t excellent? And the answer is nothing. WOW! Our party was 6 total and we sat in bar side. From the moment the nice young lady opened the door for us until we exited, every minute was literally perfect. Service was excellent - our waiter was informed, engaging, had the right tempo for everything, and served us right on time with every part of the meal. The food? OH MY … every bite was a flavorful, perfectly cooked treat. We just can’t say enough good things. We eat out a lot, and at a lot of finer dining establishments, this was our favorite in quite a long time! Just outstanding.

    My husband and I had dinner at Bistro 218 last night. The food was excellent, as always. The blackened redfish was indeed blackened, but not too spicy. Beautiful flakiness. The grits are so creamy they could be a savory dessert! My husband had the beef tournedos. They were slightly undercooked for him (he ordered med rare) but the cut of beef was so good it didn’t bother him. The bartenders make a mean cocktail, the servers and hosts are very professional and friendly, and the playlist was 80s hits. Perfect for us! About the noise level - there were lots of graduations going on and there appeared to be several family groups. When we have been to Bistro before, the noise level was moderate.

    Bistro 218 went above and beyond to make our anniversary a special night! They had a card waiting on our table and brought us complimentary champagne as soon as sat down. Our server was so attentive and I cannot say enough good things about the food. We had frittes and gumbo as appetizers - both were great. But the blackened red fish was the star of the show! It was incredible.

    Ate here on the night we went to the Ballet, my daughter ordered the beef Wellington which was incredible, all the food was very good! They were even so accommodating since we were pressed for time to bring us our desserts before our entrees per our request. They likewise were exquisite!

    Everything was great. My husband had Red Fish and it was very dry. Just would not get that again. We loved pork belly, gumbo, and beef Wellington, Cream Brûlée.

    The staff was pleasant and the food was terrific. The restaurant itself was bad. The floor was extremely old tile, very slick. One could skate around if wearing leather-soled shoes. The acoustics in what seemed like a brick-walled alley were very poor. With tables closely packed in a fairly large space, the noise was unbearably loud. We had to yell at each other when the tables were full. I would avoid this restaurant unless you enjoy a hyperactive, loud dinning experience.

    Fantastic French food! This place rivals the culinary cuisine in my hometown of New Orleans. Whenever I travel back to Birmingham I will certainly come back to this restaurant. The ambiance was perfect, the service was exceptional and the food was outstanding. Bravo!
