A delightful dining experience. The food was prepared very nicely, and the three women who were the chefs and waiter, were very friendly and welcoming. Very enjoyable experience.
We went to Bistro Turkuaz for Valentine’s Day dinner.
The place is amazing!
Everything from Wine and appetizers to our amazing main courses and desserts.
The Turkish wine is so good, paired with the Turkish appetizer platter, I have never had humus so lemony and smooth. The lamb was tender and cooked just right and the baklava was hands down the best we’ve ever had!
The owner came down from the kitchen to talk to us and give a little recipe insight on getting tender lamb.
Her son and niece were helping in the kitchen and our server Freda was wonderful.
Loved it! Really cozy spot with authentic taste!
THE most amazing lamb I've ever had! I barely had to cut my bites with a fork! The owner, chef and staff made my surprise party perfect. The baked feta and warm dolma were simply divine, served with warm pita bread and garlic yogurt sauce. This blend of Turkish and Italian cuisine is truly a Seattle gem! Perfect for reservations, drop in or dine out. The desserts are heavenly and the Turkish wine tops it all off. Perfect for an intimate evening with friends. Make reservations to ensure you treat yourself to this Seattle/Madrona gem! Ciao! Go Hawks!
Very charming.
Very nice neighborhood restaurant, intimate setting. Service is friendly and the food is reliably good. Definitely recommended.
A truly great find. Some of the most exquisitely prepared Mediterranean/Turkish cuisine I have eaten, and that includes a couple trips to that region! Fresh, fresh ingredients, perfect suite of spices, Meat super tender and flavorful, wonderfully fresh and distinct flavors in side dishes as well as main meal. Excellent wine selection. This place is a true Madrona gem!
This was my second time in 10 days dining here at Bistro Turkuaz!
I met some friends here, this being there first time and they loved it!
The food again was amazing and delicious. The service was exceptional ( the owner waited on us and helped cook our dinner) her cousin Vinny was in the back along with another cousin and her niece was serving dinner and greeting people at the door. This place is sooo worth it!
This place!
What a beautiful, romantic, delicious place!
The food is fabulous, the owner made us a lamb and pasta dish that was to die for. The Turkish wine is so delicious and went with every item brought to our table. The music is perfect. The appetizer humus was so smooth and lemony, the baklava was the best I've had and the cappuccino gelato with the Turkish sour cherry jam and fresh mint is amazing!
This is a place to be.
The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. We loved the dolmas. Service was extremely friendly, however the timing of food and check-out on the slow side.
Felt like family! Food was excellent! Loved that I was given a small taste of their appetizers! Definitely will return!
It was our first time and it hopefully won't be our last. The roasted red pepper spread and pita was spectacular as an appetizer. The trio of kebabs (chicken, kofte, lamb) was a superb choice with half tabouli, half rice the sides. The baklava was also outstanding, not too sweet. It paired well with some hot Turkish-style tea and honey. We enjoyed the very friendly and personal service amid cute ambiance. What a great neighborhood gem!
Great find in a friendly neighborhood restaurant. Food is very good and the owner and staff are great. Will definitely return.
Been coming to this Madrona gem for years. Always a great experience. The family that runs it always makes me and my guests feel like houseguests, not customers. The food is first rate, prepared and presented with care. A much more in depth introduction to Turkish cuisine than is found in the rare Turkish restaurant. Highly recommended!
Going to Bistro Turkuaz is like taking a romantic vacation for my wife and I. The food is amazing, the restaurant is cozy, warm, filled with Turkish personality, and the staff make you feel like you are dining in their home. I keep going back there and taking friends there who also take others, because it's one of those rare and special place that transports you. You should go there a little later, maybe 7pm, so you can hang out and chat with the owner over a glass of wine as the place starts to empty out around 10. You'll love it.
Amazing food, reasonable price and a great host. Highly recommend it.
This was our first visit and won't be our last. Very much enjoyed the Karides Guvek, chicken kebab, and red lentil soup. Very tasty warm pita bread. Friendly wait staff, too.
Love this place family run feel like family when we're there!
The food is spectacular. I would say it is THE best Turkish restaurant in Seattle, hands down! The ambiance is relaxed and delightful. Best of all, the owner Deanne is such a gem! She is warm, welcoming, and makes every guest feel like they are a part of her family - all of which help run the restaurant. I've been going here for five years now and it is my favorite place in all of Seattle!
Superb. It was a very nice evening.
Discovered a gem in my neighborhood after dining there for the first time. Every item we ordered was very satisfying and delicious. Had several appetizers, soup, and four different entrees. Service was friendly and personable. We were a party of five and everyone was very pleased with the experience. The host surprised us with two complimentary dessert items at the end of our meal which everyone enjoyed very much. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to provide a more comfortable dining room temperature on cold days. We will definitely return to our neighborhood bistro again soon.
The Turkuaz Plate appetizer was a bummer, with bland flavors and small portions for $16. Steer clear of this one. However, the Dolma plate was absolutely delicious and a much better value, and the Kofte entree was also excellent. And the service was extremely friendly and helpful, and really did help make the evening that much nicer.
Wonderful food in a small, cozy storefront restaurant nicely appointed with Turkish/Mediterranean objects. The acuka and baked feta appetizers are to die for and one could make a meal from these combined with the luscious marinated olives and a salad. The kofte are very authentic, better actually than what we had in Istanbul, and nicely combined with a tasty tabbouleh and green salad. The lamb kebabs and chops are excellent, and one of our party said that the chicken kebabs were also very good. We had Turkish rice pudding for dessert, totally yummy, and accompanied our meal with a good Turkish red wine. We'd highly recommend Bistro Turkuaz and plan to go back again soon!
I absolutely love their food. Some great dishes you can't find anywhere else and some old standards. Also great Turkish wine selection from Vino Rai. And the people there are the best. Highly recommend
The service is great, personal and genuine. The Turkish wine was very good, about $40 for the bottle. The place is small, but cozy. Not very many people eating there, which was good for the get together. The downside: the food. The humus appetizer was very small, they give you plenty of pita, to be honest, none of us really enjoyed the taste anyway. Most of us had lamb dishes, the lamb was cooked well, the flavor was sort of bland. The rice was flavorless and the salads were sweet, which I was not a fan of. The food is really expensive, especially for the portions you get. Won't be back, unfortunately.
Always amazing! A Seattle GEM!
Great place - warm and friendly staff and host , food
Warm, friendly service of delicious, lovingly prepared food! Be sure to have the acuka (roasted red pepper dip) as an appetizer!
Great neighborhood restaurant with nice food and great service.
This restaurant is an absolute gem. The food was fantastic and quite original (the beet and goat cheese salad is a work of art) and the service was outstanding.
Besides the food being the best. We visit Bistro Turkuaz for the excellent customer service. You are treated as family the moment you walk in. There is not a lot of that out there anymore.
Lovely staff ; food very tasty but entrees too little to qualify for dinner. We had the little meat filled dumplings which came in a light broth. Would have been a good appetizer. Might have ordered something else but a child was literally screaming for fun; Mom next to her said nothing nor did the owner/waiter! This was 8:30 on Friday night! Maybe this is better recommended as a place to bring children. We could not have a conversation with our friends so we left.
Enjoyable, well prepared food, comfortable environment, friendly, family owned and run establishment. I'll be back.
Perfection! Every dish was delicious and beautifully plated and served with warmth and genuine hospitality. The dolmas were amazing, the dips were delicious and the Turkuaz special with grilled lamb and eggplant was excellent! Intimate dining room, ask for window table if available. Thank you for a delightful dinner!
Excellent Turkish food in pleasant surroundings in Madrona. One waiter and two people in kitchen. We had lamb and chicken kebabs. Both moist and tasty. Mixed appetizer also good. Beer and wine selection thin. Decent value.
What a great find this was. I will definitely be making the trek from Magnolia time and again. The food was remarkable and fit the bill for vegetarian and carnivore alike. The wine was lovely and the service excellent. The owner stopped by the table to greet us and answer any questions.
Delightful.
We learned that we love Turkish food on a family trip to Istanbul. Thus we were most excited to discover authentic Turkish food not far from home. Everything was delicious. We tried almost every mezzo and the kebab sampler as well as both kinds of manti. The owner was our server and we felt like we were welcomed into a family. It was delightful.
Love this place. Amazing food. The people are great. It feels like a mini trip back to Istanbul.
Well-prepared food, good atmosphere, very nice host.
small spot, really quiet on a tuesday. the service was fast and friendly. the food was really good and authentic. i'll be back!
