Had a wonderful meal at Bistro St Michaels! A $40 credit per person was provided to my sister and I as a part of the package we purchased at the Harbour Inn St. Michaels. We enjoyed a delicious charcuterie and cheese plate and glasses of Rose before digging into our entrees. I had the BEST crab cake served with mac and cheese au gratin (baked mac and cheese, basically) and asparagus. My sister had the pasta of the day, tagliatelle with shrimp and crab. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or simply a meal that is a step above your average restaurant.
PLUS our waiter, Tom, was wonderful! It seemed as if he really made an effort to make a connection with each of his tables.
We happen to visit on the first night of their new Spring Menu and found the selections and quality to be terrific 1 Thomas ,our server, was there when needed and not buzzing around our table at other times.
Mushrooms on toast was the best for an appitizer and the veal chop was delicious my wife had the shrimp and crab scampy and loved it. Creme Brulee finished a wonderful evening and meal.
Come here every time I visit St Michaels. Have been for brunch and dinner. Exquisite food, service and atmosphere.
Food was so fresh and delicious. Presentation and service was fabulous. We enjoyed the foie gras, very tasty. We split a wedge salad and they brought it on two plates! Great service! Then we split the shrimp and grits and the croque madame, which was lukewarm and the shrimp and grits had too much tabasco on top, which overpowered the dish. I had a dark and stormy drink which was delightful. We enjoyed the creme brûlée for dessert! Light and delish! A great place for a birthday meal and a wonderful addition to St. Michaels.
We dined at The Bistro on a Friday evening. The chef was kind enough to grill oysters for us and they were great. I had the steak and frites and every thing was very good.
We had Sunday brunch and it was lovely. We both had Eggs Chesapeake which is a Benedict with a crab cake added to the ham. You can always tell when food is extremely fresh. The crab cake tasted as if it was made just for this meal. The hollandaise sauce was delicious and also home made. The downstairs reminded us of a french Bistro and the upstairs was more like a restaurant. This was a lovely place and we highly recommend it.
Lovely bistro. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and pleasant. We will definitely be back.
Restaurant week special dinner deal was well worth trying this restaurant.
We had brunch here on a Sunday as a party of 6. We were seated quickly and the food was great. I appreciated that the servers kept an eye on our water and coffee cups to make sure we didn't go thirsty! The smoked salmon Benedict was delicious, as was the shrimp and grits starter.
Have been many times. it was nice although somehow the food was not as good as in the past. it was not overtly bad in anyway just did not feel really wow for the price. the wait staff was very competent and friendly. a fine local choice.
Absolutely amazing! It is our favorite restaurant and we make sure to visit Deborah and her team every time we're in town! Try the pate--it is to die for!
There on a cold windy night, greeted cheerfully and sat promptly. Started with a Caesar salad & mussels, both very nice. For entrees veal rib chop ( my very favorite) and
Wild boar ragout over pasta~ no room for dessert, nice selection of wines, friendly service. We come to St. Michaels often and we'll return to the Bistro.
No entrees on menu for someone who doesn’t eat beef or pork.
Celebrated our daughter's birthday at Sunday brunch. The food was fabulous and the service was as well.
Great service, food, and friendliness
Gary, our waiter, was great! Very attentive and detail oriented.
My husband and I went to Bistro St. Michaels last week with friends, and had a wonderful time! Deb, our hostess was warm and friendly from the minute we walked in!
We love the food, atmosphere and service every time we go to Bistro in St. Michaels! If you have not gone yet, you don't know what you are missing!
Thank you Bistro staff for making our experience so special!
I cannot wait to return!
Excellent service of superb food. Would recommend it highly.
My chicken was overcooked, staff nice, but maybe a little too attentive, and the cheese plate had pepperidge farm crackers. Overall, it was good, but not the best spot on the street. Brunch here is much better than dinner. Great wine list though!
The food was good. Was hoping for a wow that didn’t come. Thought the oyster pot pie was amazing, the short ribs were just ok. Bread was dry and tasteless. The dressing on the wedge was very aggressive and overpowering. The Caesar salad was good.
Great service. The food was excellent.
Delicious food, nice variety on menu, extremely attentive waitstaff
We went for New Year's Eve dinner. Service & food were excellent. Very pricey.
Been several times. Will not take a table upstairs any longer as large group occupied an entire wall and the noise levels made conversation at our table difficult
My daughter had the scallops & I had the tuna. Both were delicious and we had good service.
Wonderful food, great service. A favorite on the Eastern Shore.
Great location in St. Michael's. Very friendly wait staff and great service...gave you time to enjoy each course. The restaurant was cozy and quiet...very relaxing.
This was our first time at Bistro and it was wonderful. We had come into town to do some Christmas shopping. Kristen our server was lovely as was the young lady who greeted us when we came in. The young man who served our bread was just as kind. Food was delicious and drinks were excellent. This was a lovely evening and we appreciate the kindness, delicious food and wonderful time! We will be back!
One of the best dining experiences we've had in a while. Food was very good. Trumped only by the service. Our hostess and waiter were as welcoming, kind, and engaged as anyone could ever expect. We will definitely come back on our next visit to St. Michaels.
The food, service, and atmosphere was amazing! My wife and I were celebrating our 22nd year anniversary and a birthday and the hostess, Deborah made sure everything was perfect! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and wine which made our dining one to remember!
The Young Family
Great place. The culinary experience was great. Great breakfast choices, both food and drinks. Service outstanding. Clean bathrooms and definitely a place that will leave in every customer an smile upon check out. Thank you for having us ❤️🍾🥂
Favorite restaurant in St Michaels! Food and wine is great. Always love coming here when I’m in town.
My wife and I celebrated our 42nd anniversary and had a fabulous meal and evening. My wife is ovolactovegetarian and the Chef prepared a very beautiful and scrumptious special meal. The waiter, Thomas was friendly, attentive and personable, adding a nice addition to the evening. My wife and I liked the open kitchen, and it made us feel like we were part of the restaurant process. The atmosphere is pleasant, slightly cozy, and just comfortable.
Fantastic service and fantastic food!!! Fresh seafood, delicious pasta, wonderful wine list, and more!
We were greeted nicely when we arrived even though we had to wait, politely cared for at the bar. We were seated in a booth which we requested but discovered the booth was so wide our friends felt miles away. The menu is diverse, there were many attractive choices although our server heavily advertised two which he later said were sold out.
Some of our dishes were really extraordinary well one was really disappointing. The foie gras was grilled to perfection, served with tart stewed cherries and frisée. Amazing. Our friend said his duck confit was out of this world, falling off bone with a divine pasta stuffed with braised duck meat. The scallops with risotto and the schnitzel were reported to be excellent. However my bouillabaisse was truly disappointing with okay shellfish, way too much rockfish, homely zucchini all surrounded by a very pedestrian and way too salty tomato sauce. No fun to make the booking and have the least good dish.
I️ know we will come back as the restaurant is reliable and very pleasant.
We picked a bad night, Waterfowl Weekend, for a quiet anniversary dinner, but food was good as usual. Tables for two are small so we were advised to specify a large table next time.
The food was unexpectedly great! The pate was amazing, the crab soup yummy and the duck scrumptious. Will definitely go back!
Outstanding brunch! I had the hash which was delicious, great combination of flavors! My wife had the French toast and was very happy with her dish! Can’t wait to return for another great meal!
Always dependable and delicious! We regularly have dinner here and it is one of St Michael’s best!
