This was a birthday celebration and couldn't have been nicer. Superb food and great ambience!
I have been here many times. This used to be my favorite restaurant. This time the Halibut fish special was sub par. The couples in the tables on each side of were to close. The booths are much level. The noise level was extreme. We left after the entree even though we always order desert
Was a wonderful dinner from the atmosphere to the service we were very happy. The food was superb.
My hubby and I celebrated our 30th Valentine’s together here! Everything was excellent! Food , service and ambiance! It wasn’t our first dinner at the Bistro and will definitely not be our last! Thank you for such a lovely evening!
We had a fantastic night, our meal was perfect, great portion and seasoning was spot on. Nice wine list. The service was attentive but not overwhelming. Chef was friendly and approachable.
Looking forward to returning
We had the absolute BEST MEAL there this past Saturday!! The oysters were to die for as was the French onion soup, and almonds! We are still talking about how good everything was! The steak was also excellent and the service was super friendly. Highly recommend! We will be back! 5 ladies on a girls weekend :)
Wonderful menu selections, great cocktails and a fabulous wine list! We particularly love, Marie, our favorite server.
Very attentive and accommodating staff. We had a group of 7 and the restaurant did a great job bringing all our food out at once. Love the food and the ambiance.
Very good service, wine selection was great, cheesecake was delicious
Excellent service - amazing Foie Gras, beautiful ambiance overall a wonderful restaurant.
Wonderful Saturday brunch, food, service, value. A gem in the area.
It was mind blowing experience and had an excellent waiter, Thomas who had provided excellent service. I just wish I gave him a bigger tip. I will return again in the future and looking forward to have Thomas serve us again!
Great staff....excellent mixologist (creative!), and very, very good food! Try the best quiche ever for Brunch on weekends.
Fabulous meal, great service, great menu . Definitely the best onion soup I ever had. A must go if you are in St. Michaels
Bistro St Michaels is a gem, always and consistently excellent, creative chef, delightful staff. Moved to St Michaels from another place in Maryland, a town with 200 restaurants - but Bistro would top their list!
It was delightful!
It was an amazing experience with a kind and attentive staff. The value was great -- and so was the food!
Bistro St. Michaels is a great little restaurant with excellent food, ambience, and service. The staff is, not only, very knowledgeable and helpful, but also very engaging and pleasant.
We recently had both dinner and brunch at the Bistro and both meals were out of this world! The oysters and mussels were the best we've eaten anyway! Main courses were cooked perfectly and full of creativity, the chef did an outstanding job. I would recommend the Bistro to anyone looking for quality, atmosphere and a great way to share a meal with friends. We will be sure visit The Bistro again!
Always excellent - great staff and food. We always look forward to a dinner here
Excellent service, wonderful entrees
On December 8, 2018 I took my girlfriend of 7 years here for a romantic dinner and proposed to her. The setting was private, quiet, and relaxing. The staff was very supportive in helping me set this special occasion up to be perfect. The service was amazing and the food was excellent. A big thank you to the staff for being a part of a very special moment.
We live near St Michaels so we get to town a few times a year. We always get there for the St. Michaels Christmas Festival which is the first weekend in December. For us it is all about the Christmas House Tour and then a great meal before the 1.5 hour drive home. So, our restaurant selection is important. There are 2 restaurants right on the main street in whcih we like to dine. My wife and I don't share the same culinary tastes so we alternate. This was my year. The menu here is more adventuresome and always well prepared. The service is great with an attentive and experienced staff. Be aware that there are kind of 2 Bistro's in one here. There are the cloth covered tables and quiet atmosphere at the front and upstairs and a newer more contemporary part in the back with a bar and booths that face the open kitchen. (There is also the TV on the back wall on a sport's channel that seems out of place even in this contemporary setting.) The back part is busy but the energy is contagious. The final conclusion? Go for the food and pick your seating according to your mood. Can't go wrong.
Delicious as always. Great brunch! The chef owner is making it his own.
Delicious well served meals and nice wine selection. A gem!
We had a table for four (two couples) and enjoyed our dinner very much. We got salads (Arugula and the Ceasar) which were probably the lowlight of the meal. A couple of us got the French onion soup which was very good, with lots of cheese and bread on top. For our entrees, we had steak (excellent but wished it was a bit larger), seafood gumbo (very good, but spicy!) and coq au vin (also very good). Besides the already mentioned steak, the portion sizes were reasonable, but certainly not big. But enough that we were full and did not opt for dessert.
The food and service was top notch. One of the best meals I have had in a long time.
Delicious meal with a good sparkling wine. The divers’ scallops were exceptional and the rockfish a real treat. We would go back in a heartbeat if we lived closer.
It had been years since we ate at the Bistro. The best parts of the “new” Bistro are the creative menu of meats, seafood gumbo and Oyster concoctions, attentive service and friendly Shore vibe: less stuffy than our 11 year old last experience. We’ll be back.
First time to the Bistro St. Michael, definitely not the last. The staff was terrific and food rustic and comfortable. This was a 50th birthday and my request for a wonderful table was 100% fulfilled. Our server was warm, knowledgeable and accessible. He also knew when to give us space for conversation. So appreciative of the team, thank you!! Food was well prepared , properly seasoned and presented beautifully.
Personal service and delicious fresh food! Second visit to the restaurant and will be going back!
Best Restaurant in St Michael’s
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, the food was excellent. Christian was a tremendous server - he was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The ambiance was lovely and allowed for quiet conversation.
My husband had the award winning oyster stew and said it was fabulous! I had fresh rockfish expertly prepared and it was delicious. Service was outstanding.
Wonderful small venue. Very nice menu with outstanding preparation! The service was impeccable. Our waiter, Peter, was personable, very knowledgeable of the menu, and was attentive, without hovering.
It is my understanding that many of the ingredients are locally sourced.
I would definitely recommend Bistro St. Michaels!
The chef made a vegetarian dish for me (not on the menu) that was excellent - one of my favorite all time meals. My husband had the fish and liked it ver much as well. Altogether a memorable experience!
Great service and good food. Oyster Pot Pie was excellent . It was a quiet night so service was attentive.
Excellent food, nice ambiance, good service. Chef had recently won an oyster stew competition, and the award was well deserved. We also had oysters (very fresh, as expected), and duck (well prepared, but not local). If we lived in the area this would be our regular restaurant for well prepared french cuisine.
Small storefront restaurant in St. Michaels, with a bar and tables in front, and booths in back along the kitchen. Food was very elegantly prepared, all fresh and local ingredients; sophisticated without being fussy or cutsey. Did not have many gluten-free options which was a problem for my partner. Extensive and sophisticated wine list, though we didn't partake. Not cheap but good value.
We had a wonderful time. And are looking forward to going back ASAP. 🙂
