Our visit was absolutely horrible! This was our 1st time there but went with a couple who goes there often. First, our waitress completely ignored our table. Drinks sat empty even when we placed them at the end of the table. We eventually got another waitress to get us drinks after about 30 minutes. Our first couple drinks were flat and we had to send them back. No big deal but the waitress kept trying to give us an excuse. Just replace them and dont make excuses or try to make us keep them. The crab cocktail was very tiny, not worth $16 for 2 shrimp and a teaspoon size of crab. Once we got our meal everyone dug right in since we waited nearly an hour for it to arrive. My niece had steak, hers was way undercooked for what she asked for and made clear it was a health precaution. I got duck and it was super overcooked and rubbery. Our waitress never returned after our meal was delivered. They came by and cleared our table as the dishes were set aside, so for that the people bussing them did the best job. Once the waitress came back, she placed dessert menus on the table and walked away. When she did come back she reached over my niece, took her plate and silverware and walked away. She wasnt finished eating and took the remainder of her meal! In conclusion we only got 1 drink refresh because they ignored our table, our food wasnt good at all, the waitress was beyond rude and we wont br going back. I'd rather spend my $150 at El Gaucho or Daniel's Broiler and get great service and perfect quality food.
Bistro San Martin is one of our all time favorite places for fine dining and Chef Martin excels in every course. Tonight we had the wonderful surprise of venison chops on the menu which were fabulous as only Martin can do them. I had had them here four years ago and still remembered them. They were moist, perfectly grilled and flavorful with a luscious juniper berry red wine reduction pan sauce. We all four had the venison and were thrilled. For dessert we enjoyed a delicious rich chocolate cake with fresh raspberries. The service, presentation and every course a delight.
Outstanding quality and presentation! A little expensive if you include drinks and desserts but worth every penny.
Always great and our all time favorite restaurant.
Worth the trip to Arlington! This chef owned restaurant is a gem. We went a little crazy - ordering a variety of menu items - all were delicious. Save room for the Naughty Chocolate Cake!
Beautiful place for a celebratory dinner with friends. Everything was perfect as always. Love this restaurant.
Great dining experience. The beet salad was really good.
Not as good as I had expected, very noisy. If I lived nearby I would go again maybe I would think differently but too long a drive.
Bistro San Martin remains our favorite spot for special occasions and date night. Thanks yet again for great service and superb food!
Wonderful food and service as always. We invited friends who had never been before and they were impressed.
We all were very satisfied. Took our friends who had never been. Had cocktails and wonderful meals with a bottle of wine. Service was top notch. The specialty cocktails were all a hit (Manhattan's were excellent). My husband had the Sea bass special and said was cooked to perfection. I had the chicken, because I love the dish so much and it never disappoints. We will be back, just wish we lived closer!
First let me say, I love this restaurant. The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 star was due to the noise level we experienced during dinner. Perhaps it was just this night, since I haven’t experienced this problem before. The food is delicious and the owners make a special effort to make the rounds with their guests. Definitely make reservations since this is a very popular restaurant.
We were there for a birthday dinner. We waited 40 min for appetizers. There was a large chip and crack in a drink that was ordered. Service was extremely slow. We tried to cancel dessert because it took so long. The food was delicious, but won’t be returning.
We celebrated our 20 year anniversary at the Bistro.
The meal (from the fresh prawn & crab cocktail to the rich seafood bisque to the sweet, buttery sea bass entree to the melt-in-your-mouth ‘naughty’ chocolate cake all the way to the warm, delicious cappuccino) FIRST CLASS, the service (friendly, attentive Becky) FIRST CLASS, the ambience (romantic, candlelight)...ALL first class! We had a WONDERFUL, special evening!
Can’t wait to return!
This is our third visit to Bistro San Martin. We really like this restaurant. The ambiance, service and food are outstanding and we have always had a great experience. We invited some close friends to dinner. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is this: my friend and I both ordered the prawn entree and we agreed that the prawns were a little over cooked. The duck and steak entrees were excellent.
This is an awesome restaurant in downtown Arlington. There are always wonderful seasonal specials. The main menu has something for all taste and they will accommodate dietary needs. The service is friendly and professional. My go to special place.
Great experience, great food, romantic or business environment. The food is amazing and the customer service is very nice and friendly. We will be back!
The staff was amazing. They work well as a team. We could see that the Chief is doing all of the entrees and there is 2 assistants. This is out in the open and easy for patrons to see if there is any problems. It was clear to both my husband and I that the staff works both efficiently and as a team. The food was wonderful as well. Scallops prepared just perfectly. The food was fresh and the menu reflects local ingredients. There was a bit more noise the night we were there. There was an office party going on in the banquet room. The staff was very aware of this and offered multiple times to move us to a quieter table.
Excellent service and food. Has an upscale feel in a small town. Definitely will be back.
Everything is outstanding. The staff and owners are friendly and the food is great. This is a true gem. Thanks
Best food in Snohomish County!! We always go there for special occasions
A wonderful place for a special night out
Steven makes you feel very welcome and Chef Martin is a master at micing flavors
NY strip was done perfectly and the vanilla mousse was outstanding
My favorite place to eat while in the NW
The Bistro is a steadfast, reliable place to go when you want an above average meal in the Arlington. That said, I've been going for almost 10 years and the menu never changes. It's good food but it's under seasoned and not exciting at all. The chef appears to be talented and I'd love to see him be brave and experiment with something new. Especially with the vegetarian options- pasta with veggies? It's insulting.
Five star experience all the way!!
From the appetizers through to dessert, each course was absolute perfection. The menu has something for everyone, and they have an exhaustive list of wine and spirits.
The service felt personal. We were made to feel welcome by the friendly and dutiful staff, and wanted for nothing during our visit.
Food was, as always, excellent. the service also wonderful. We just wish it was a bit more quiet...once the restaurant fills it is most difficult to hold a reasonable conversation due to the din.
But...we will be back.
Consistently outstanding! A local treasure. Can be a bit pricy, but well worth it.
Well-prepared food. Consistent. Staff is always great. Steve is a great host. Martin is focused on making great meals. Nice and close to home. Just as good as any Seattle restaurant at much lower prices. Will keep coming back.
Service was impeccable as usual. Food was perfectly prepared. The owner Steve makes u feel very welcomed. Worth the 30mile drive.
The majority of the dishes served were excellent. The halibut and pork tenderloin were 5 star, however the crab cakes were mediocre and a 3 star dish. Appetizers and deserts were all 5 star. Service was excellent as usual. There were several groups there and the noise level was quite high. We have eaten here previously and the noise level has always been higher than we would care for and certainly higher than one would normally expect from a fine dining restaurant.
We visited for our anniversary. Great service. Awesome [seasonal] menu. Some of the desserts are huge - be prepared to share. We're looking forward to going back.
The very best quality and detail go into each item prepared. Gracious host. A local gem. We are sorry it took us so long to go. The duck and crab cakes are perfection
We love Bistro San Martin!! Best food and service in Snohomish County! The honey glazed chicken is tender and flavorful!! The desserts are amazingly delicious!
The Bisrro San Martin is never a disappointment, each course is full of distinctive interpretation.
It was my second time at this place and I absolutely love it . It is my favorite restaurant for sure!
Always delicious and fantastic. We never get tired of coming here and introducing to our friends. Great staff and amazing food. Every time.
Excellent restaurant. The service is first rate and the food is superb.
It is a bit crowded and the nise level is rather high but everything else makes this a worthwhile stop.
The food is always amazing, but the service hardly visits your table.
Filet & lobster and poached pear salad was DELICIOUS! Also, enjoyed the wine by the bottle selection.
It is a little trek for us and absolutely worth it. Fabulous in every way from the greeting at the door to the departure, with stellar service, and first class food. Whenever we are in the area, this is a stop for us. Everyone that we have referred has thanked us and has the same response afterword; awesome!
My family has been going here for special occasions for years. The food is always prepared in a visually appealing way, and it always tastes of quality and freshness. I have no serious complaints, other than when we arrived to a mostly empty restaurant on our date that I made reservations for, we were offered a choice of very small tables both right next to the only other couple in that area of the restaurant. It made it a little cramped and uncomfortable for us, as we prefer to have some space (especially when there was plenty of space elsewhere, and when offered we always prefer the larger room on the left side of the entrance). Other than that, the food was good and we left content - and will be back!
