Bistro Roca and Antlers Bar
Great food and great service!
The chairs were sagged and uncomfortable, one spring touching the floor. The black and blue rib eye tough, grisly, and fatty.
H treat friends to brunch! Drink we’re fantastic and the food was so good!
Bistro Roca always delivers! Great food served in a delightful mountain vibe.
We always love coming when we’re in town!
Friday night everything was fabulous except the noise level!! We were between two parties that were extremely loud. Our conversation with our friends wasn’t what we would have wanted.
Price was a bit high for amount of food received without ANY bread.Salad "sampler" was a joke though.......come on.....lettuce with 4 croutons. Will definitely go back though.
Lovely seating on the porch with cool air coming through the window. I had the steak with blue cheese butter and my mom got the scallops. They were both fabulous. Wonderful wine (and very reasonably priced wine). Will definitely be back again when we come to town next. Would definitely recommend.
Love love love this restaurant!! Food always excellent. Service attentive and personable. Of particular note last visit was server Jamison, the eggplant frites and the butterscotch bread pudding.
Love sitting on the great back porch and feeling the cool, night mountain wind! Lobster Mac and Cheese is great and eggplant frites are to die for also!
Everything about Bistro Roca is loaded with " come back sauce" - the food, the location, the ambiance and the service - especially the service. This was the best discovery of our mountain vacation.
We enjoy going to Bistro Roca every time we come to Blowing Rock! The service is great and the food excellent. We were disappointed there was no trout in our last visit...and the chicken was a little undercooked; however, we had an excellent young woman as a server.
We LOVE the fig appetizer...not to be missed!
It was crowded at 7:30 when we arrived and though we had reservations we still waited a little. Service was somewhat slow. The ambiance is really nice- mountain rustic. The salad and eggplant fries were excellent. The chicken breast entree was a little strange (and I like inventive, creative treatments- this just did not work out!) I would give the chicken a below average score- small, not tender and a sauce that just did not compliment it. I WANT to love this place- we've had some good meals here but the last few have been disappointing.
Very nice wait person took time to explain any item my party had a questions about. Wait time for food to arrive arrive was appropriate, especially for a business lunch which i didn’t have much more than an hour for it to last. We frequent Bistro Roca a lot, and it is always consistently good.
Have dined here before. We have always enjoyed it. This time was a Sunday brunch on Mother’s Day. Over all the service was ok. A bit slow. The menu was limited. I ordered Huevo Ranchero. It was more of a casserole. Layered with scrambled eggs opposed to eggs on top. Maybe should have read the description of their recipe. It was dry. Not a fan. If this was my first time I would def wonder whether to return
Great food, terrific service. We’ve dined here multiple times for brunch, lunch, and dinner and have never been disappointed. It’s a terrific value given the menu choices, the excellently prepared dishes, and the attentive but understated service. The atmosphere is generally quiet, but was a little more raucous during the Mother’s Day brunch, with all of the family’s celebrating. It was terrific seeing all of the young children dining out with their Mom’s and Dad’s.
We were seated right by the kitchen so continuously heard the servers yelling, corner! It was a busy night so I felt that we were often left without a server for a bit. Food is always good but it could have been warmer.
We enjoyed it. We've been coming for four years. The first two years we thought it excellent. These last two it seems to have slipped some. The food was outstanding our first 3 or 4 visits, the last several it has not been.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Presentation was very good. Tried the Cuban crepe and would definitely order it again. Brought my great grandson newborn and found the staff very accommodating on all levels.
The last 2 times we were seated on the porch near the dumpsters and the smell was notable.
The porch otherwise is lovely.
Bistro Roca is our go to place for fine dining in Blowing Rock. It serves up wonderfully crafted dishes and has a great bar that serves terrific drinks. Our favorite dinner is their signature black and blue rib rye. It is worth every penny. Also a treat is their roca salad sampler, which comes with the meal. You cannot go wrong with this place and I highly recommend it for that special dinner with your special person.
Service was actually much better than usual. Didn’t have to wait as long for our food. However consistency of portion is poor. Added chicken on salad for two orders was not the same quantity.
Great salads, appetizers, sauces and dressings. Fish was overcooked, dry, and cut extremely thin. Good presentation.
My favorite mountain escape! The food and beverages are delicious.
service was poor. she was an inexperienced server that got lost a ton!
They ran out of many things which is frustrating....so dont show them to the guest!
It was just ok.
Another great meal. This restaurant never fails to deliver. Great food and and exceptional service every time. Definitely a Blowing Rock favorite.
Great food. Exceptional service. Only nit was the noise level was loud early on.
A wonderful dining experience!
We always say that this is the best restaurant in the high country; and we will still say it after this visit. The food was fantastic, the service perfect, and the setting beautiful.
Always delicious. As locals, we try to avoid most places in Blowing Rock. Bistro Roca will always be the exception.
Awesome time. Dinner was terrific. The wine was great!
Jamison was our waiter, and he was excellent. He took care of us and also gave us plenty of time to catch up with our friends!
Tremendous, low-key dining and relaxing venue. Great place to gather with friends for a gustatory experience. The food is tops; service is excellent; the beer selection hops with choices; the wine list connects well with one’s discerning taste. One of our “go to” places in BR.
Loved this place. Went for brunch on Easter Sunday and had reservations so we were seated quickly. Our server was both friendly and efficient and answered any questions we had plus explained the menu selections thoroughly. The meals were served in a timely manner and the food was not only original but very nicely plated and overall delicious. The ambiance was warm and quaint and the decor very interesting. We would definitely put this place on our repeat list if returning to the area.
Awesome birthday dinner for my wife with a super friendly server.
Great place with great people
Our favorite spot in blowing rock!
We had the winter Veggie Mac and cheese as an app and it was phenomenal. We both got pizzas that were very good. There were a lot of other looking good items on the menu. The atmosphere and ambiance were very nice.
Food was extremely well prepared and tasted fantastic. We were seated at the exact time of our reservation. Service could have been better as it took 15 minutes to get waited on after being seated. I also received the wrong glass of wine. I ordered a glass of Reisling and received a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We enjoyed ourselves very much and will definitely be back.
Dinner at the bar was terrific. Tina was very professional and handled everything in a superior fashion.
