Four of us dined at Bistro Roca and Antlers Bar. We had figs wrapped in prosciutto as a shared appetizer and should have ordered more. They were delicious. Two of us had the Mountain Trout and two of us had the Black and Bleu. Both courses were excellent and the steak was wonderfully tender. Our server was attentive and humorous. My only observation is that parking is quite cramped so allow some additional time for that but overall a five star experience.
This is a very busy restaurant presenting a challenge for conversation and timely service.
I have eaten here multiple times but this time the food was different and disappointing. We ordered the margarita pizza and it was loaded with pesto. The crust was soggy. It just seemed that the chef tried too hard to be fancy but simpler would have been better!
Awesome evening ! Everything was terrific !
Fantastic service as always. Cocktails on point. They made my daughter's birthday very special. Always a favorite.
Great place to meet friends for dinner and drinks. Attentive staff and delicious food with extensive menu.
Very enjoyable experience - food was great as was service. Parking is a bit of a challenge.
one of our favorite restaurants! Always take our guest to Bistro Roca..
One of my favorite restaurants in North Carolina! They put a twist on your favorite southern meals. Delicious.
Always a great experience at this Blowing Rock treasure. The staff is incredible! The food, terrific!
Emily our server was so sweet professional and on top of all the things that make a great dining experience out, truly great!!
Our go to/always recommend to friends/neighborhood bistro. We are seasonal residents and this is always our #1 choice whether it is the two of us or with friends. The BR Team is so well trained and accommodating.
A must do for all travelers to the Village.
Great place within walking distance of downtown Blowing Rock. We arrived an hour before our reservation and they graciously accommodated us.
We've always enjoyed your restaurant my wife came here back in the mid 70 when she was student at App.
Will be back next year.
Consistently good food and service. Fun atmosphere. Excellent choices that cover a variety of tastes. Highly recommend for a date night or a group.
Great food, varied menu, prompt service-nice atmosphere.
Excellent food and diverse menu. A great place to entertain a diverse group.
Great dinner spot in Blowing Rock. Back room is a little cold, especially if you're seated by the door - it doesn't close well unless you lean over and push it closed EVERY TIME someone goes out. Food is very good.
Pleasant restaurant. Great atmosphere, excellent food. Our only complaint is that several items on the menu were not available the evening we were there.
We were so disappointed in Bisteo Roca. For years this has been one of our favorite restaurants in Blowing Rock. The Black and Bleu which was a ribeye for years on the menu is now an inferior cut of meet. So disappointed.
The food and service were good. The atmosphere is family friendly and noisy. If you’re wanting a quiet romantic dinner, this is not your place.
The eggplant frites were great. But my best meal was the brisket over Mac n. Cheese with a fried egg. Outstanding
Emily was our waitperson and did a terrific job.
We had had such good experience on a visit 2 years ago we were eager to return, this time bringing friends. They are foodies and the whole experience received top marks from them too. The fig appetizer is as delicious as we remembered- the mussels, Mac and cheese, and lettuce wraps were outstanding. Lovely fire, attentive servers all added to experience. Love the bar dog photos and even you philanthropic approach to the community. We will be regulars on each trip to BR.
Absolutely our favorite restaurant when visiting Blowing Rock...always pleased with both food & service. I had the Cuban crepe & was new for me but delicious. My husband had the filet of beef but also loves the burger sometimes. So one can see has a wide range of selections for any appetite. Also, a great place to take visitors for first visit to Blowing Rock to make sure everyone is pleased & happy. KatB, GSO, NC
We have frequented Bistr Roca occasionally during our 5 month stay during the summer and once in a while during our winter visits. Our last visit we were extremely satisfied with the food, food service, etc. our lone criticism was that our initial interview with our server was somewhat delayed.
The food in the service were excellent. I had a really good time hanging out with my family. When the food came it was as requested and was prepared exquisitely . Also the lobster mac & cheese was to die for.
Every time we have a great experience here, from the food to service to the atmosphere. You can’t go wrong with any meal here
Menu offers so many options. Bar service is outstanding. Very comfortable to be casual or dressy. Pricing is reasonable except the appetizers. Very tasty but small portions.
The' Brisket and Black & Blue were awesome. Mussels were small and underwhelming.
Yes, I'd definitely come back!
We sat on the screened in porch, great temperature. Had the veggie spring rolls and prosciutto wrapped figs for apps. Entrees were fish of the day (swordfish) pizza of the day (jerk chicken.) All very tasty. Good wines by the glass. $100 for 2. Pricey for the area but worth it for the ambience.
Bistro Roca never disappoints. The food is always delicious, I look forward to seeing what the nightly special dish will be. It's always creative. The service is outstanding and the ambiance is always delightful in that cozy mountain lodge feel. We highly recommend this restaurant and Antlers Bar.
Always a great place to dine
We always have a great dining experience at Bistro Roca. Sunday brunch is my favorite! Waiters are always friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Don’t miss this fabulous restaurant when you visit Blowing Rock!
Lovely brunch! Will definitely return soon!!
A treasure in Blowing Rock.
The figs are amazing! The brisket and Roca pizza are also absolutely delicious! Don’t pass up this restaurant on your next trip to Blowing Rock!
We booked this restaurant based on its rating on TripAdvisor. Boy were they right! The food was absolutely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time with exceptional service. The portions were not overwhelming and simply perfect to enjoy the meal. Everything from the wine to the coffee and dessert was five star. Will definitely eat here as often as I can in blowing rock!
We were up there for parents weekend at App State, and I think they were overwhelmed (although it should have been expected). There were 9 of us dining, and all of our meals came out at different times, over a 20 minute period. One of the dinners, however, did not come out until almost everyone had finished eating. The waitress explained that the Chef had overcooked his meal, so they needed to start another one. But then when his (2nd) meal finally came out (salmon), it was basically raw. The food was generally good, except for the salmon meal. The waitress brought this to the attention of restaurant management, who gave us 3 free desserts for the table. But, given the amount we were about to spend ($350 plus for the table), the very poor timing of the meal delivery, and the raw salmon meal, I did not feel that was nearly enough.
Looks like a nice restaurant but the food was very disappointing. I had a small Caesar salad and pizza with Italian sausage. The salad was mostly soggy wilted lettuce. The pizza was doughy and unappetizing. It looked and tasted like it came from Costco.
