My husband and I really enjoy this restaurant. We come every time we are visiting Blowing Rock or Boone. I have ordered the Black & Bleu every time and have loved it. Our friend ordered the CAB Brisket and also loved it. My husband ventured out this time and order the Lamb Chop. While it was delicious, it was a small and very fatty chop which was not worth the price of the entree. Service was impeccable. When my husband mentioned the the Lamb Chop, the server immediately offered to take a portion off the bill or a dessert on the house. We opted for the dessert on the house which was delicious. The server also followed up heavily apologizing saying he spoke with the Chef and that they were going to monitor where they order from to ensure it doesn't happen again and that they greatly appreciated the feedback. We still love this restaurant and will be back multiple times. Thank you for the wonderful service!
We go to Bistro often. This experience was under par. The mussel appetizer was not cooked thoroughly. When mentioned to the waitress she was sent back with the reply from kitchen management that if the shell was open they were done. However the mussels were hard to open from their cracks, did not easily release and were slimy. The manager came by and apologized and said that he talked to his kitchen and going forward they would do better. We paid for our $120 meal and the overpriced appetizer (even though we did not eat it) and were not offered any compensation. Disappointed.
This was our first visit to Bistro Roca and we were not disappointed. The ambiance was rustic and comfortable. Service was very good and the food was enjoyable. We will definitely return.
We always enjoy our meals at Bistro Roca. Food and service are always excellent.
Everything was just perfect for our anniversary dinner from the food, presentation, service. It just couldn't have been better in any way. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Watauga County!
This was our 5th meal at Bistro Roca; we dine here each time we visit Blowing Rock from our home in Florida. The quality of our dining experience has been very good each time. There was a new menu for our latest visit, but we enjoyed our meal and the portions were very generous!
Unfortunately just after ordering our dinners they lost power. We had to eat pizza.
Our server did a great job recommending dishes for us to enjoy. The brisket was very good and the seating on the porch was delightful.
When me made reservations we were not told the Sunday lunch was actually and only brunch with a limited menu. I ordered the crab cakes which were not sautéed but seemed to have been deep fat fried. There were two small patties mostly fill and little crab. They were crunchy all over and dark brown-burnt. I would usually send such back but my mother in law said she would be embarrassed so I did not. The waitress seemed to be in a very big hurry and gave us little time and came back only to present the check. Over rated, over priced and the chef must have been new at his job or hungover from the night before.
Bistro Roca is our “go to” restaurant while in Blowing Rock. Excellent food, service and ambience are standard.
Always a wonderful experience at Bisto Roca. We were seated upon arrival. Service was great. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it is as good I have ever had. My wife had the Black & Bleu steak and I the lamb chop. Both were cooked perfectly. One must go here if you in the area.
A local favorite , this restaurant was recommended by everyone we asked. It is rustic, fun and felt authentic with locals mingling with tourists. Our booth was cozy and comfortable-the buzz was lively not overwhelming. Our waiter Steve, was efficient and friendly with a delightful southern charm. He was helpful in navigating the menu and was right on. Entrees included a salad selection. I enjoyed my local trout, 2 large filets, prepared as described but a bit spicy for me. My friend enjoyed her crab cakes as well. The wine pour was generous too. Definitely a first choice when visiting Blowing Rock.
Repeat visit for two of the four at the table. All were favorably impressed. Wait staff very efficient. Food superb. Selections varied from pizza to main entree among the four. Always enjoy this place.
It was great! A storm come through town just a short while before we arrived and lightning had caused a temporary power outage. This disrupted the ventilation system and other things so the restaurant atmosphere was a little bit chaotic when we arrived. Nevertheless, we were happy to be there, and the managers and staff did a great job overcoming the challenges that the bad weather had caused. Overall, my wife and I had another great experience!
We always make sure to visit BR. It’s a special place in Blowing Rock.
Bistro Rica is a must when visiting Blowing Rock. Try Roasted figs wrapped in proschutto.
The food and service were fabulous but the hostess was very indifferent and not welcoming at all.
Perfect as always.
We love bistro roca! We eat here every time we come to Blowing Rock and it never disappoints. Highly recommend.
As always, great food and excellent service! We always enjoy this place.
We went here for a late lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The server was slow coming to our table in the very light crowd but, once he came, he did a good job. We had the crab and cuban sandwiches and a burger and all were well prepared and tasty. We also had the fig appetizer and it was good but very overpriced. We were not offered a table near a window but were in a quiet area and the ambiance was acceptable. In all, it was a good but not great experience.
Hidden gem just a little off main street with great food and a perfect balance of posh meets mountain atmosphere. Absolutely worth the stop.
The food was very good- However, one of the dishes included a non-listed ingredient that one of my group was actually allergic to ~ she had an allergic reaction after eating.
Even though she was sick, she still liked the dish. I just think they should list ALL of the ingredients.
The salmon with Thai sauce was over the top!
Great service and food was delicious! Dined here during a girls weekend to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Great atmosphere with menu options for everyone. Will definitely be back!
The server was very helpful and efficient. The food was delicious and the drinks, too! We had a lovely evening!
Why are there no points when making a reservation at Bistro Roca restaurant in Blowing Rock, NC?
We were disappointed with the pizzas. Both of us felt there had been a change in the ingredients, and they did not taste as good as in the past.
The food was out of this world, the service was great. I have been to Bistro Roca numerous times, and I have never been disappointed.
Our food was excellent and the service quite good. We will go back again.
We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was exceptional as always. Hailey was our waitress and was an outstanding server with nice personality. She should be commended for her excellence!
My favorite local place to eat. Good for all occasions
Nice spot! Good food & ambiance. Recommeded!
Absolutely love this restaurant. I feel comfortable even when dining alone.

We really enjoyed our first time at Bistro Roca. The food was great and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back!
