The food was good, started with the French onion soup, topped with local cheese. Had the salmon tartare as my main (normally a starter) and it was very tasty, very well seasoned. Service was a bit slow, but friendly and kind.

Les plats principaux goûtés (poulet, boeuf et saumon) étaient de bon niveau. Par ailleurs, le chili végétarien était très moyen. Le tofu, mal préparé, nécessite d'être préalablement mariné pour avoir un minimum de saveur. Un chili doit aussi être relevé, c'est sa nature! Devoir rajouter des flocons de piment séchés pour relever un chili indique un manque de compréhension du plat ou de préparation. En dessert, la tarte au sucre était excellente mais le moelleux au chocolat était tout sauf … moelleux! Très ordinaire. Finalement, des espressos préparés mécaniquement et qui goûtent l'eau ne sont pas dignes d'un resto qui se veut de bon niveau. La carte des vins est aussi très moyenne. Le Côte du Rhône dégusté (57$), dont je ne connaissais pas du tout l'appellation (...et je m'y connais quand même un brin!) était très ordinaire. Pourtant, la SAQ déborde de vins savoureux pour la tranche 45$ - 57$ (prix resto). Incompréhensible. Je m'offre pour vous aider à bâtir une carte de vins adéquate! Le service, sans être mauvais, est d'une autre époque! Un petit renouvellement de staff peut-être! Aussi, la salle pour les repas est d'une fadeur exaspérante...pas très loin de la cafétéria! En conclusion, je fréquente votre resto depuis une dizaine d'années et à mon avis, le bistro Nordik végète! Allez, un peu d'imagination, de travail et d'enthousiasme pour relever tout çà!

Note - We had a horrendous meal on December 30th at Bistro Nordik but due to there being only 2 dinner type restaurants on the mountain we were unable to make alternate arrangements.


Made a Reservation for dinner at Bistro Nordik for New Year's Eve dinner four weeks before we were to arrive. There was no mention that there was a buffet for that evening. There was a reference on the Chateau Mont Ste Anne website that a New Year's Eve party was to take place but it made no mention of Bistro Nordik.

After our meal on the 30th (mentioned in Note) we had been told by service staff that there would be a buffet offered for New Years Eve but we confirmed with front desk staff that an A La Carte menu would also be available. I was provided a printed copy of the Christmas Dinner Menu by a front desk staff member that she thought was the New Year's Eve menu.

On Dec 31st I made multiple inquiries to staff regarding the New Year's Eve Menu and the cost to no avail. I was actually told by a staff member that the menu was "in the Chef's head" - I told her that they must have ordered certain foods for the event as it was only hours away. At about 5pm a hotel staff member offered to take me around the buffet so I could see what was available. We attended the area but no tags had been placed in front of the empty chaffing dishes.

Surprise Surprise - the buffet was a total waste of $300. It was 120$ after tax/tip per person. The best part of the meal was our wine but that was an extra $60 with tax/tip. Two glasses of Sparkling were provided free.

The food was incredibly lacking to say the least and the whole event seem disorganized/last minute.

We actually bonded over our horrible dinner experience of the 30th and the 31st with our fellow guests. I'm guessing this is not the type of camaraderie they want among the guests.

We will not be dining here again.

We had supper there as a group of 4 adults. The decor is stated and somewhat cheap feeling (vinyl conference chairs). Drinks were ok, but the servers were frazzled and disorganized. We waited over 40 minutes for our meals after receiving salads. In contrast to the environment and service the meals were excellent and not what the ambience and service led us to expect. Artistic salad presentation, excellent steak fries red deer meals. We were left conflicted about the experience.
We I would recommend eating here for the high quality food and also if you are staying in the chateau and don't want to have to dress to go outside.

Note - when you view pictures of Bistro Nordik which depict a quaint dining room with a black wood burning stove, grey upholstered chairs and a bar in the background UNDERSTAND THAT THEY HAVE RELOCATED TO THEIR BUFFET DINING AREA - this is not mentioned on the hotel map. This new Bistro space is void of warmth or any type of design theme AND BONUS it overlooks the hot tub area (Not a pretty sight)

Waited 18 minutes until someone took our drink order - surprise it wasn't our waiter. Note - It was not busy when we arrived (Max 25 people in a room meant for 80).

Ordered a Bottle of Wine

Started with Salads - Caesar for me (would be considered deconstructed but not indicated on the menu) , Green for my wife. It was pretty good and then .....

One hour later the entrees arrived

Flank Steak ordered Medium Rare arrived Rare-Blue with the most dreadful peppercorn sauce I've ever encountered.
"Lobster" Risotto which was mostly extra small shrimp. Bistro Nordik should rename this dish to " Many 61/70 Shrimp and a little Lobster Risotto"

They offered to remake the Steak but due to the fact that we had waited an hour I decided to pass.

But good news they discounted my 1/3 eaten steak by 50 % !!! Yes only the steak.

The dinner was horrendous and OMG we made reservations for New Years Eve at this place and there is no where else to go ......

Overall I’d recommend the restaurant. We had excellent service and dessert was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Would definitely tell friends to go.

Food is too ambitious and falls short often during the meals. The decor is horrible and looks slapped together with what ever was left over from the last renovation of the hotel. I will be as fair as possible. Service was poor, our waiter was much too talkative when he should have been waiting tables. Hence our long waits for the next food arrival. Ceviche was just raw scallops and shrimp on lettuce....no acid, no salt, not even a lemon slice so we could actually make it ceviche, just raw fishy scallops. Foie gras was the only good dish, it was most likely bought and sliced. I doubt this restaurant would make the terrine. My son had the salmon dish that must have been 3 oz of fish. Bavette was not overcooked...this is the only compliment I could muster. Beef cheeks are difficult to not cook well but being bland was a sin to the cow. My bottle of wine came to the table uncorked. It was Christmas, I didn't want to make a fuss about it.

Bonjour, la nourriture en générale n'était pas fraîche. Salade césar molle, tomate molles. Fondue parmesan pas assez cuite et presque froide. Le service était correct, mais pas d'un niveau hôtelier 4 étoiles.

The tartare de saumon was not good, no flavour. The waiter was not present for us, too busy. My daughter did not like the macaroni and cheese and our waiter did not ask if she would like something else. Unpleasant.

It was a little warm and given we were the only guests there (6pm is too early to eat in Quebec but we have a perpetually starving 7&10year old
Service was pleasant. Decor was nice.
Portions were on the smaller side for some dishes (risotto) and larger for others (ravioli). Foie Gras was good; burgers were okay but lacking something compared to all of the details on the other dishes. Pasta was a bit rubbery I hate to say.

This is a very good restaurant located in the hotel next to the Mont Sainte Anne ski area. i dined in late March 2019, arriving late on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was very quiet, with only a few tables occupied. We were able to sit next to the log fire. There are 3- or 4-course fixed price menus and the menu choices are quite varied and include good vegetarian options (i enjoyed the green salad and General Tao tofu). Portion sizes are good and meals are well presented. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Good food and great service! We ordered onion soup, Cesar salad, ribs for me and paste for Jane. Ribs are more of a barbecue sauce and not smoky. In all was good value for what we had.

Main course had no veg...just meat and potatoes and the potatoes were inedible
...as basically they were potato chips. I asked what was the difference between french fries and chips, as that's what they were called, and was told that chips were house made whereas french fries were not (I therefore assumed the fries were frozen). Anyway, the chips arrived but were house-made slices of potato deep fried. I would have preferred a side of just vegetables, as that would have been healthier. For a bistro to serve such fare is unbelievable. Also, the steak was on the small side with a sauce but was tasty. The chips went back to the kitchen and the dish was returned with a salad at my request. The salad was barely out of a bag with not much in addition added to it. Again, for a bistro to serve such shoddy, mundane fare is not to garner any praise. The same salad was served with lunch the next day. But because there is not much else on offer in this mountain resort, they are able to get away with it.

I had a reservation for 5 people at 8pm. We all got there right on time but still waited 10 minutes to get seated even though the restaurant was empty. Once we got seated we sat there with no service for 30 minutes. We couldn’t even get anyone to bring over a drink menu. At that point we just got up and left. I don’t think they even noticed that we left.

Went for dinner on Christmas Eve with family of 6. We ordered from the regular menu. Got beef cheeks, duck confirm and scallops. Also, salmon tartar for appetizers and soups. It took a while for food to come out, but everything was scrumptious! Also, the service was superb, and we got a bottle of wine on the house. We'll be back!

Quand au menu on écrit « côtes levés braisées » je m’attends ce qu’elles grillés.
Malheureusement, c’était bouilli et napé d’une sauce... rien de braisé juste très fade tout comme la soupe a l´oignon qui ne goûtait rien.
Très déçu de la cuisine... je pense que votre établissement pourrait faire mieux.

Nous sommes des habitués du Château MSA et soupons régulièrement au Bistro NORDIK (3-6 jours par années depuis les 3-4 dernières années). Nous allons au MSA pour le ski et le vélo de montagne, et apprécions demeurer au même endroit pour la durée du séjour. Nos critiques sont ici purement constructives. Nous apprécions l’ambiance semi-exclusive rustico-touristique, et aussi recherchons les produits locaux, les bons vins et les bonnes bières, de même que les viandes de qualité. En général la carte du menu est trop limitée. Après deux soupers, les choix se répètent. Mais dernièrement, nous avons noté une simplification du menu, avec des trucs plutôt communs…pizzas et brochettes (en demi-portion SVP!)…alors que nous souhaitions retrouver le burger de bison et la viande de cerf des menus précédents. L’ambiance est sympathique par ailleurs et le service à la hauteur. Bien qu'un Barman attitré serait préférable (nous avons d'ailleurs noté des clients, qui au milieu de l'après-midi, ne pouvait trouver le barman pour se faire concocter un cocktail digne de ce nom). Bref, pour des trucs plus communs il y a plein de bistros et de restauration rapides aux alentours, mais pour des trucs plus raffinés l’offre est très limitée et nous comptions sur le Bistro NORDIK pour y pourvoir. Cette fois-ci nous nous sommes dirigé vers Château-Richer…. Bonne continuation…

Tempura came out very cold, but was replaced promptly. French onion soup was mediocre at best and iced tea was from a powdered mix. The duck legs were good though. Good kids menu. The service was good. Desert was amazing.
