About Bistro Nolah
We named our restaurant Bistro Nolah, an acronym for New Orleans, out of a love for the style
of comfort food they serve down south. This style of food is the inspiration behind some of the dishes we serve at Nolah

Bistro Nolah Ratings and Reviews
Service was friendly but the food was quite disappointing considering the reviews. We had to return the shrimp gumbo as it tasted like a bottle of beef bouillon had been dropped in it. The shrimp creole was eatable but not very flavourful. Afterwards, the latte was barely warm and the pecan chocolate desert was overloaded with Nutella. For what it is worth, we did start with Martinis and those were excellent!
Got together with old friends and we were all very happy with our experiences. One was gluten free and she had no problems finding an appetizer and main meal. Another friend is allergic to cheese and likewise he had many options to choose from. Out of 5, we were all super happy with our meals and great service. The Mac n cheese is delicious but the portion was huge!
Amazing brunch as always. The restaurant was quite busy but the service was as good as usual. Great Mimosas! Really interesting brunch menu.....savory or sweet, whichever you prefer. Fabulous coffee. Just a great place to go for brunch or any other meal for that matter. Lovely time as always, very enjoyable, highly recommend.
This was my first visit to NOLAH. I came here for my 37th birthday. The ambiance was nice and the service was good. However to my surprise part of my meal was disappointing. I ordered the fried chicken and French toast. My chicken was full of fatty pieces/deposits through out. I tried picking through the chicken to remove them and just eventually lost my appetite because there were a lot. The quality cut of the chicken versus the cost I paid was not up to par. The French toast was good and I enjoyed that.
Our first time here and as soon as we stepped in, heard the jazz that we like and saw the candlelit atmosphere, we anticipated a nice evening. We were not disappointed, though a little on the pricey side. My husband mentioned Bistro Nolah was a "nice discovery" and our server, Matthew, was very knowledgeable... describing the dishes like a connaisseur. The chef offered a complimentary "amuse-gueule" of salmon cakes. My husband enjoyed the crab cake appetizer and I had the fried oyster (fishier than I remember oyster being... NOT the Bistro's fault at all, but mine). Then, I had the ravioli special dish with blue cheese (nice) and my husband had grits with his meal, for the first time in his life (he LOVED it... soaked with cheese and cream helped). We finished on Matthew's recommendation, with the Bread Pudding with Bourbon sauce. It was good but since we both do not drink hard liquor, found the Bourbon somewhat too much (but for Bourbon lovers it would be delicious). We plan on coming back! Thank you :)
i've been to Nolah a few times and each was wonderful and a bit different. The menu changes slightly each time, which is always a pleasant surprise. The food is amazing, just the right spicing. Our favorites are Shrimp and gritts (i usually don't like gritts but these are awesome, delicious), blackened steak/fish, the steak was perfect!! ... and of course the bread pudding is a must have, even if I can never finish it and bring it home (great for breakfast cold the next day too). On a Tuesday night reserving a table wasn't a problem and as we went late there were less people and less noise than usual. It was a very comfortable ambiance to sit and talk. Oh and I LOVE the cocktails :)
Excellent from start to finish, we got to try the Salmon Ceviche and Sweet Potato Hush puppies to start and they were great. The Salmon Ceviche explodes in your mouth with a blast of citrus. So good. As an appetizer we shared the Grilled Octopus on Black rice and it was delicious. The red sauce a perfect add on. Our mains were Shrimp and Grits and an amazing Blackened Mahi-Mahi over an incredible Macque-Choux, I had never had it before but will definately have it again. Corn right off the cob with Brussel sprouts in a creamy sauce, so good. First time in my life that I have eaten Brussel sprouts voluntarily:)
Bistro Nolah never disappoints - we have been at least 8 times over the last number of years and always enjoy the food . Whether for a family celebration or special guests visiting we are always happy with our choices . The beauty of Nolah’s is that the menu is not huge , the portions are perfect and the seafood is always perfectly cooked - the chef knows what he is doing !
Overall this was a good experience. Small place, friendly staff, nice slightly noisy ambiance. The food was great: the hurricane was wonderful :) crab cakes soooo good .. delicious salad. I ordered the mac and cheese which was good but way too much and too filling (could only have less than a quarter) ... brought it home and my boys who finished it over two days . Got the bread pudding to go too (as I was full at dinner but wanted to try it) it was amazing ... honestly a must try ... I think the best I've ever had. ..the resto lives up to the great reviews but, as mentioned before, it is a bit pricey.
