Great food and nice service. The chicken and French toast was just right.
Always a winner and never disappoints in both food and service.
Tout était parfait sauf pour le bruit. On ne s'entendait pas parler car le niveau sonore était trop élevé.
Have been there for lunch and dinner but this was a first for Mother's Day brunch. Food and service were excellent. We were a large group and everyone got their food at the same time. All in all, excellent experience!
Really excellent, we loved it and can't wait to go back!
The food was excellent as was the service. We had a very good evening.
Brought visitors for a business dinner. Started with monitors and a dark and stormy drinks. Entrees chosen -fried oysters ; crab cakes. Delicious. Amuse bouche offered was a hush puppy ! Yummy! Mains chosen were: pan seared scallops ; shrimp creative jambalaya ; bourbon shrimp. Fabulous with nice heat as well perfectly grilled ! Also Cajun Caesar salads -but if heat with pancetta abs homemade croutons -delicious! Dessert-their famous Bread pudding!! Simply amazing-no leftovers lol. Everyone was extremely delighted with their meals and look forward to returning!
We had one of the specials of the day which was fried chicken which was delicious, but was served on a salad which was over dressed and limp and that was it! We also had the shrimp gumbo, the shrimp were good, nice spice, but the tomatoes very disappointing and let the meal down, they appeared canned and two still had the core. We mentioned it to the waitress who had been very attentive but that was as far as it went. We finished with the bread pudding - served with a sparkler as it was my birthday - amazing! we thought that might have been complimentary - no. When we look back and considered we had spent over $130.00 we were sadly disappointed.
Best brunch in the West island. Fantastic dinner too. Probably the best restaurant in the West island
Fantastic place. Great foo. Wonderful service and ambiance!
There are so few places in Greater Montreal where you can experience good Cajun cuisine, which makes Bistro Nolah very special indeed. The daily special appetizer was mussels in s bourbon cream sauce that was so good we asked for extra rolls to sop up the sauce. The Caesar salad had a surprising and welcome kick to it. The shrimp and grits (especially the grits) were most enjoyable and the blackened catfish was great. Service was pleasant and efficient. The only downside is that the place is very noisy, but that shouldn’t stop you from going unless you are particularly sensitive.
This was our 2nd visit to Bistro Nolah. The cuisine is gourmet-like with pleasing plating. We ordered mostly seafood and were not disappointed. Our ultimate favourite was the grits... creamy, buttery, delicious. Service was attentive but allowed us to enjoy an unrushed birthday supper. Would highly recommend!
Very pleasant dining evening. A little too noisy with loud conversations. But very busy so such noise is not surprising.
Second visit, this time 9 of us, 8 who had not been there before. We all loved our meals and are appreciative of the great service and also attention to special dietary requests.
We will all definitely return.
Food was outstanding! Lobster ravioli with shrimp, mussels and cream sauce was phenomenal. Also octopus on bed of black rice was excellent. Cocktails to start were very good. Not cheap, but a very nice meal, good ambiance, a bit loud (just like New Orleans!)
I enjoy treating myself to a quiet single lunch at Bistro Nolah, it's comfortable, quiet & the food is always superb. The crab cakes, one of my favourites, were so very tasty, there is something about that sauce which makes you come back for more. As main course this time, I decided on a salad served with fried chicken breast, suggested by my server. I was again, pleasantly surprised at how it all meshed well together. The salad was a fresh mix of swiss chard, different lettuce, kale with slices of apples, walnuts & I'm sure that I'm forgetting items, served with three small fried chicken breast. I didn't need dessert after that terrific meal for which my taste buds are still thanking me! The service, well-timed & pleasant, was excellent, discreet & professional. I also enjoy having dinner with friends at Bistro Nolah which definitely is my favourite restaurant in the West Island.
Absolutely loved the food. Had the Shrimp Creole Jambalaya. Rarely eat dessert, but had the bread pudding as well. Has not become my all time favorite place to eat and so happy it is located within the neighborhood. Highly recommend this place.
Amazing food, amazing service! Will definitely come back! 😊❤️
Sunday brunch and service was excellent. Couldn’t ask for better.
Went to Nolah for a date. Pretty small restaurant, but it makes for a very cozy and romantic scene. At night, the lighting is romantically dark, with candles and warm wooden decor. Service was great, as the waitress that we had was very nice and made great recommendations about the menu and about the specials that they had. As for food, it was absolutely spectacular. It had a simple and concise menu which consisted of classic creole and cajun food. The seafood was on point and they have really good specials that change weekly. Overall, it's a small cozy place to eat that has good food and service all while being fairly casual.
Have been to New Orleans, this place serves up the real deal at a very reasonable price. We sat at the bar purposely and were well taken care of. Highly recommend it!
My friend and I went to Nolah to catch-up over lunch! It was great in every respect!!
A really great Gem of a place hidden away in the West Island. If this Restaurant was in the Plateau, it would get more respect but the food was great and the services and price were totally fair. If I had to make one suggestions, I would say the restaurant manager needs to turn the lights up 10%... was pretty dark, to the point at time it was hard to see what I was eating. But everything i put in my mouth was stellar!
Food was good. Service was very slow. Made a special birthday request that never came.
The food was excellent but service very slow and the noise level was almost intolerable.
We could not hear each other talk for most of our meal.
Limited menu at lunch
The food is good but the fried chicken is too salty, that is my only complaint.
Been awhile since we returned to have brunch here but it was worth the wait👍👍. We started with a dark and stormy alcoholic drink -very tasty but could have used more ginger. I took the Le Jose special of day -I x catfish taco; their potatoes; and fried chicken piece on challah bread French toast. Delicious and filling . My friend took the Benedictine special -smoke salmon eggs Benedict. Was also yummy I was told ( as I don’t like salmon so didn’t try). Coffee delicious as always. Service impeccable and always around for refills on coffee and water without having to ask! Recommend Nolah’s !!! Bon appetit!
La nourriture est excellente. Le service est impécable, par contre, meme si le restau est petit, c est tres bruyant. A part cela, parfait!!
Excellent food. Good ambiance and very well knowledgable staff. Perfect dining pleasure.
The food was excellent. My only complaint was that it was very noisy. Will probably go again in the summer when we can sit outside.
Merci pour cette belle découverte ! Nous y retournerons pour essayer la belle terrasse et le brunch!
Always excellent, we often go at lunch. The pain perdu for dessert is a must try! Mac and chorizo is one of my favorite ever! A little place worth discovering with colleagues or friends!
Great service and authentic cuisine. My husband loved it! We chose Nolah’s to celebrate his birthday.
Good food great service. I had the blackened catfish and it was great. Well cooked and spiced. Shelley had the braised short ribs which were delicious.
Was fantastic as usual!!! Great food and ambience!
Awesome!!! Nuff said.
Excellent service. Helpful staff with choosing wine.
Duck was a little chewy
Excellent meal and excellent service from Matthew!! Have never been disappointed and are always welcomed warmly!!
Evening marred by an unpleasant maître d. Despite the restaurant being practically empty we were given the choice of exactly one table. So much for accommodating a client! And we were reminded at least twice while being seated that we had no more than two hours during which to enjoy our meal, as the restaurant was flipping the table. Talk about treating your clients like cattle. The food was good, if a bit over the top in spice. But the elephant in the room is the poor service. A bit of success seems to have gone to their heads.
