We named our restaurant Bistro Nolah, an acronym for New Orleans, out of a love for the style
of comfort food they serve down south. This style of food is the inspiration behind some of the dishes we serve at Nolah

What an outstanding experience. Not only were the food and drinks amazing, we arrived in Montreal an hour ahead of time and they were able to bump up our reservation to help shorten our wait. The staff were on top of everything and the flavours of the food were to die for.

Came back to try the brunch on the patio. The food was amazing and the patio is lovely. I had gone in the past for dinner and the ambiance was chill with good background music. Love the fact that they give samples of one dish eveytime! It’s not the cheapest meal you will have but well worh it!

Fantastic place to grab dinner with friends or to impress someone on a date. If you are looking to try something different and don’t want to drive into the city then this is definitely a place that you should consider. Do make reservations in advance. Looking forward to my next dinner experience here. 😊

Amazing !!! Gem in West Island. Food is unique and authenticate. For the quality it is well priced. Totally recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Dinner out with husband or going out with friends. Drinks are also great !

Good to finally find some Southern food in Montreal (well, almost...). Tastes could be a little sharper - feels tamer than it should be. Generous portions, great service. Kitchen closes surprisingly early.

Perfect EVERY TIME...a trip to Montreal does not feel complete without a visit to one of my all time favorite restaurants, Bistro Nolah! I have a personal favorite dish, but everything I’ve ever tried there is delicious so my recommendation is to head on over the next chance you get and find your own favorite dish or multiple favorites! If you need help picking, the staff is fabulous and will only be too happy to help...and if you happen to find that one favorite that satisfies all cravings as I have, don’t be surprised if the staff remembers your “usual” the next time you go(and I assure you...there will be a next time!)

Not our first time, we are huge fans of Nolah and we have always had a fantastic meal and outstanding service. Schrimps and grits is the best...the ceviche was very tasty.

Bistro Nolah is well worth the drive even if you don’t live on the West Island. My sister and brother in law are from the south shore and will definitely be back to eat at Nolah. The whole experience on Tuesday night was exceptional. The wait staff is fluent in both English and French. My husband and I have been to Nolah four times in the past year are we are never disappointed. Service, food and ambience is great.

I’ve been meaning to go to Nolah for the past 3 years it’s 15 min from my place. I’m kicking myself for not going sooner, what a wonderful gem! Food was phenomenal and the staff very attentive and kind. You HAVE to go! So happy is in the West, no parking hassles!

The hardest part of dining at this restaurant is deciding what to eat.
Authentic New Orleans cuisine an incredible service.

Even though we had a reservation and there was a few tables available, the waitress accommodated the people who came after us. We were seated 10 minutes after our arrival. It took another 10 minutes before the waiteess took our drink order. We ordered two appetizers and 2 meals. Food was tasty but side vegetables were so bland and over cooked. Couldn’t add salt/pepper as there was none on the table and waitress was nowhere to be seen. She didn’t check on us once after our main meal. Only showed up with the bill. Service was sub par for the price you pay. Not sure if I’ll go again.

We were 4 people and it was for my wife’s birthday. We started with cocktails and shared our entréés. The portions we generous and the complimentary entrée from the chef was a nice touch. When we got to the main meal i was not able to finish and felt quite full. The food is very good and even though there was quite a bit of noise you can still talk and be understood. When we arrived we were taken care of immediately, but after that i found the service little long for my taste. Someone else might find it ok. This is definitely not a deal breaker,i would go again. Also i found it a bit pricey, i paid for the 4 drinks and wine with entrées, 2 main courses and tea $206.00 before tip.. Again not a deal breaker but could not afford this every week..
I’ve been twice so far and would definitely go back and i do recommend trying this bistro...

This is hands down my favourite restaurant in the West Island and maybe in all of Montreal! I try to go as often as I can for a special night out or just on a whim. The menu never disappoints and he staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Love this gem!!

We started with the fried oysters, and they were superb. We sampled both the shrimp and sausage gumbos. They were flavorful with a bit of spicy without being overpowering. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and sported a fantastic crust. We finished with the beignets. They were well sized (more than a few bites, but not giant), and not over powdered, which in my mind made them perfect.

Service was amazing from greeting to bar to table. Our cocktails were really good and we saw all the real fruits being pressed ro make them no pre-made jugs of artificial mix, a sign of things to come. The food was bursting with flavour without relying on easy cheats like sweet sauces etc. The fish and seafood we had was equal or better to “specialized” restaurants. All ingredients were fresh and very tadty. The portions were good and we did not feel like the plates were put on a scale before reaching our table. A little gem with a different menu for the West Island. Well done ! We will be back.

First experience and I wasn’t expecting such nice food and good quality in a strip mall restaurant. The little covered terrace is very nice as are the tables on the terrace in the sun and the indoor seating.
I liked every item on the lunch menu-a real comfort food offering.
We will be back for dinner!

We had an excellent dinner, the food was amazing, it was our first visit at Nolah. We wished we could have sat outisde on the terrase but it was already full. The only negative point is the noise inside the restaurant. At moments we could not even hear ourselves speak, we were only 6 at our table. Excellent food and service but very noisy, maybe beacause it was Friday night and very busy.

The food and service were excellent. We chose to sit inside and found it quite noisy. Our daughter has been and sat outside. She found it quiet. Perhaps it was the two large groups that contributed to the noise. Perhaps the decor contributed, too.

I was disappointed that there was no table d'hôte.

I loved the Louisiana flavours. I had the blackened catfish and it was delightful. We have visited New Orleans and found the cuisine at Nolah authentic. I would certainly recommend Nolah ( and I have).

It was a little pricey for a regular day but for a special occasion it was great.

I have lived in the West Island for several years but learned of Nolah only recently. Cannot understand how you have remained so hidden. I read the superb reviews last month so this past week when my son and his family were visiting from Virginia you were the destination of choice. All of us were delighted with the experience. I will certainly be returning.

NOLAH is quite a hidden gem in the West Island. I live close by and never even noticed it. It has a lovely terrace, and although close to a street, high plants around it give it some privacy.

The restaurant serves New Orleans southern cuisine. The menu is quite varied, with specials of the day as well. Southern food may be somewhat spicy for some persons' taste, but is delicious. I ordered blackened salmon with grits as a special side, and both the presentation and taste were excellent.

It is not just the main course, but the crème brulée with kahlua dessert was also very nicely presented and exquisite.

The service was impeccable, in line with an upscale restaurant, with a very knowledgeable and friendly Maitre D.

I am a loover of New Orleans food having been there twice and gone to all the bogies. Nolah is superior to some I have dined at in NOLA. The big advantage to Nolah is that I can be there in 20 minutes and in CAD.

Awesome food; the appetizers (ceviche, crab cake, tacos) were all amazing. Like the fact that they always have a different menu on the chalkboard that is different from the main menu. For main course the fried chicken is so good, and the scallops are out of this world. I will go back there very soon.

It was our second time there, this time with friends. We wre fortunate to ge a ta le on the terrace which was very intimate. As on our first time, fhe food was amazing.
