   Its been a while since we have gone. The place is certainly cozy and a little tight. Our table was right up in front. We started with the fried chicken which was moist and great with a spicy honey sauce. We then tried the sausage gumbo which was ok. It seemed to have a little less depth of flavor and wasn't hot as we would have hoped. We then has the brisket and grits and the shrimp creole. The brisket was good but there wasn't much which was disappointing because it was good. The grits which were a sub for the mash potatoes were creamy and good. The shrimp creole was really good. Spicy shrimp with the jambalaya rice was a hit. No room at all for dessert. What made it a real enjoyable experience was Matthew. He looked after us and was a real gem. Taking the time to explain everything and making some great suggestions. This gentlemen is a class act and knows how to look after customers and make their experience memorable. Thank you Matthew

   For both my wife and I it is our favourite restaurant. My wife is Celiac and we don't have to worry because she can virtually eat 90% of what is on the menu. The food is amazing and the staff never disappoints.

   The food was exceptional, the service was amazing and the ambiance was perfect for my sister’s birthday dinner. We closed the restaurant but nobody pressured us to leave! Thank you for accommodating us! What a treat to have a one of a kind restaurant in the heart of the West Island!

   Bistro Nolah is a great little restaurant. You absolutely need a reservation as there are a limited number of seats, in the warmer fair weather there is a patio so there is a bit more room. The staff is amazing, very friendly and knows the menu/food very well and make excellent suggestions. The food was out of this world, try the Fried Chicken Appetizer, it's to die for... It was our first time for myself and my friend and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I did put "very good" for the value as I did find it a tad bit expensive, but considering the quality of the ingredients and the excellence of the food treat yourself! I'll definitely be back, especially in the warmer weather to try out the patio on a warm Summer's night, what better way to enjoy Southern cuisine and a cold beer.

   Absolutely outstanding experience. We frequent Bistro Nolah on at least a couple of occasions each year, and it never disappoints. Pleasant atmosphere, fair pricing, generous portions, fabulous food, and terrific service. I highly recommend the buttermilk fried chicken appetizer (which 2 can even share) and the blackened catfish main course. On this particular night, service was especially good, as our server was friendly, very helpful with explanations and recommendations, and most attentive. We dined with a couple who had not been to Bistro Nolah in years, but now will return before long.

    Everything is great! Cannot go wrong with the Mac&cheese, fried chicken, and hush puppies. All are not spicy. If you like spicy, jambalaya & gumbo, shrimp creole with jambalaya, and blackened catfish have a kick. Enjoy

    A great evening in a quaint setting. Delicious food, excellent service, and remotely located in the west island. A definite must for those who want to try something different outside of steak, Italian, or Asian.

    This was my 4th visit here and to say there we’re disappointments is an understatement- it was my birthday and they didn’t even put a sparkler on the dessert which I paid for - that aside, the bread came hard and cold and had to be returned and replaced - the hush puppies were not soft and mushy on the inside - to be fair, the fried chicken appetizer was good. The disaster was the brisket which i’ve had before on my last visit in november - it came in the smallest meat portion ever, 2/3 of a cup of not even sliced, but hand separated meat - of which half was fat - so when split apart I got 1/3 cup of shredded meat - gone are the generous days - I knew there was an issue when the plate came so low in the middle - they tried to add all sorts of cheap veggies and sauce so to hide the lack of meat - so it was returned and I ordered shrimp creole instead - which came as shrimp n grits - and when i mentioned it to the lady server, she argued with me about what I ordered - though my dad sitting next to me heard loud and clear - all this to say, stick to the staples of creole - but it was just so annoying, not going to bother going there again for what you pay - go to bistro grace or la louisianne - observation: it wasn’t that busy as i’ve seen it before on a thursday night - draw your own conclusion - and as I write this, I have heartburn -

    We had another outstanding time here. Started with crab cakes which were great and finished with blackened cat fish which was cooked to perfection! Service was spot on! A wonderful place to share a meal with friends!

    They service and food was amazing. We had the tasting menu!! When we arrived it wasn't very crowded but by the time we had finished eating the place was FULL and the noise level was rather high. However, this didn't stop us from having a wonderful time. Richard, Chris and their staff never disappoint!!

    The food was great, flavours, texture, taste and portions were perfect. The waiter was to busy talking to the hostess to pay proper attention to us or other patrons. The music was also very loud making people talk louder to hear over the noise. The important thing, however was the food and that was a pleasure

    I have been to Bistro Nolah a few times and every time is amazing! The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. I've been to New Orleans and the shrimp gumbo and Nolah is still the best I've ever had!!

    Absolutely fabulous - it was Valentine's Day, so we had to choose from a fixed menu, but as usual, Chef Richard Taitt outdid himself, and each dish was a flavour & texture explosion. Mathieu served us, and every moment and interaction with him was a professional delight! If you've been here before, this is old news...BUT if you haven't eaten here yet...GO. GO NOW!!

Richard, Chris and the entire team deliver outstanding flavors, a wonderful selection of cocktails and wine, great service , in a warm ambience and all at a reasonable price.
