of comfort food they serve down south. This style of food is the inspiration behind some of the dishes we serve at Nolah
It's not my first time at Bistro Nolah but it was my first time having their Sunday brunch, as usual the flavours were unexpected and absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I said that we need to keep coming back until we've tried everything on their menu!
This time I had the breakfast casserole: I loved the flavour and it was a very hearty meal. However, I would've loved if I could've had the option to have a smaller portion of the casserole as a side with the pancakes or waffles.
My boyfriend had their special, a fried chicken burger with potatoes. I can only assume it was great because it was gone so quickly and my boyfriend, a tough critic, said he loved it.
We also shared the Jack Daniels bread pudding for dessert. It was really good but the Jack Daniels flavour is VERY strong. I would've preferred if it had been more subtle.
We've eaten at NOLAH pretty regularly for the last couple of years and it has never disappointed. Whether we order off the set menu, or get one of the specials, the quality of the food never varies from a very high level and the service is absolutely on-point. A gem!
The food was excellent. I had the ribs and my husband had the shrimp jambalaya. The seasonings were perfect and the portions were good. We received the food quickly. We also really enjoyed the free hush puppy with spicy sauce as well as the homemade biscuits.
I had a drink - Miss Julep - which was flavourful.
Service was prompt and professional.
We enjoyed a wonderful supper and will return soon.
Absolutely delicious! Went for dinner with my husband to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect choice. Highly recommend the crab cakes, pan seared scallops, duck confit, beignets and the chocolate torte. The service was great and we took our time and were not rushed at all. We will definitely be back!
The food and the service are excellent. The only issue with this restaurant, the 2 times I went, is the noise level. It is very noisy. The people voices and the music compete. I would suggest to lower a bit the music when the restaurant is full or nearly full.
We had a great lunch ! The shrimp bisque soup was delicious.
The main coarse’s were great, the salade with the greatest fried moist tender chicken , the featured blackened salmon was perfection with just the right amount of heat and finally the third dish was an Italian/New Orléans sandwich ‘ muffuletta’with roasted/seasoned young potatoes.
And don’t leave without having the dessert with Jack Daniels sauce ...!
I had heard great things and my experience was phenomenal. Great service for the lunch hour and what to say about the food apart from: it was awesome! I’m already planning on going back in the next few weeks.
Always a fun experience. The downside this time was that our server seemed impatient and uninterested. She never came back to check in.
The food sells itself for sure. I recommend this place 100%
to be honest i was expecting a lot tastier food. it was not bad but i was expecting more.
prices are fair.
the service was okay but not the warmest , friendliest staff.
i think the ambience could have been better.
it is a small resto so it felt crammed, and my table was right by the doorway so there was a cold draft.
Everything is good, everything! Pain perdu is a must for desert.
Very good cajun food. It was only 2 of us. Small inside and Nice atmosphere. Would go back.
I think the food was good but overpriced.
A girlfriend and me went for lunch. The service to receive the full meal was long. Bread (awesome freshly baked) came after I was almost finished with my soup. Go when you have “time” to eat/unwind. My gf and me dis just that somit bothered us less.
Waitresses were pleasant.
Food was much better than I expected as I have been to New Orleans numerous times. The male waiter (I forget his name) was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very happy and plan to go back. Yes it is pricey but worth it.
Went there for breakfast/brunch for the first time. The food was awesome! Original menu.
Excellent food and service as always! Amelie and the rest of the team were great as always.
Everything was great except for the noise level. The restaurant is quite small with vaulted ceilings which seem to amplify sound.
Food and service was top notch !
Service a bit slow once you get seated but the food comes out very quick and delicious every time. Staff is very friendly and the whole place has a very simple homey / feel. Only downside is that it's very noisy in there but the food more then makes up for it.
Excellent food as usual
Great waiters that explain very well each plate on menu
Shrimp taco were just WOW!!!
Food was great, never disappoints! Mixed drinks very good too. Service could have been more attentive, took forever to flag someone down for coffee and dessert. Should focus more on serving clients than setting up for next day.
Food was lovely, atmosphere lovely (although music could match Louisuana theme) decor fun, server was super but as he went by memory he got one order wrong but we'll go back for sure
Went for dinner with 2 girlfriends. I have Celiac Disease and can’t eat gluten and one of my friends is severely lactose intolerant. Food and service as fantastic. They took great care of us.
The service was great. The food was awesome. My only complaint is that we were seated close to the door and would feel the cold air everytime the door opened.
Super as usual
Absolutely Fantastic - will definitely be going back and this was just brunch!
Worth every penny. Delicious food, cozy atmosphere! Will definitely go back.
We just had an amazing creole soul food for our post Valentine's dinner date. Entrees and main dishes were so delish! To be honest, we didn't get the chance to try the desserts because of the generous proportions served. We ordered fried oysters, shrimp gumbo for starters and Salmon creole and blackened catfish as main dishes. It came with sweet potato mousse and freshly baked bread. I believe we paid a reasonably priced meal for two. Highly recommended!
Everything was great! A bit pricy and we weren’t aware of the prices until we got the bill, but it was valentines day so it makes sense.
Unexpectedly Excellent food! A Definite must experience .
Easy reservation, good presentation of the menu, the jambalaya and dessert were out of this world. Very knowledgeable waiter that pays attention to details even with a full dinning room.
Great food. Grits are fantastic. Excellant service
love this place! Food is amazing, staff is wonderful, only issue for me- and I am extremely old- is that the noise level is a little high but still our go to place for special occasions.
Cosy little bistro situated in the West Island. Food was excellent, service very professional. A meal for two with a bottle of wine with tip between $150 to $250.
I introduced my friend to Bistro Nolah Friday February 8 for lunch and as always it was delicious.
She had the blackened salmon with jambalaya and I had a crab cake, crispy outside and packed with crab meat inside, with a delicious sauce that took all my will power to not lick the plate. My main was the very authentic shrimp gumbo with okra no less! My friend works at the airport and she said she was going to arrange the next get together with colleagues at BN. Server was knowledgeable about the wine selection and was very friendly.
Nolah is an excellent place to dine. Their regular menu items are prepared with care and are very consistent in their quality, flavor and quantity.
The venue is clean. The sweet potato soup was nice and hot and delicious, the pan-seared scallops were tasty (could have used a wedge of lemon), and the braised beef is so tender, it melts in your mouth. The service was timely, the staff quite knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely return.
This is a wonderful gem located in a plain strip mall! Noticed it because I stopped in this mall for something else. The food is excellent, ingredients are fresh and it is an original menu for Montreal. It’s worth the drive out to the suburbs and bonus there is plenty of parking!
Staff and food are amazing
Love this Restaurant. Great ambiance, Great service, Great food, Great drinks. What else can I say!
Wonderful brunch as usual. Everyone we bring is impressed and surprised to have such a place in the West Island.
Delicious food, cozy and excellent service. I had a great time !
