of comfort food they serve down south. This style of food is the inspiration behind some of the dishes we serve at Nolah

Beautiful day to eat outside!! Loved it
We have been here several times and always had a great delicious meal. This place never disappoints.
We had an excellent dinner, the food was amazing, it was our first visit at Nolah. We wished we could have sat outisde on the terrase but it was already full. The only negative point is the noise inside the restaurant. At moments we could not even hear ourselves speak, we were only 6 at our table. Excellent food and service but very noisy, maybe beacause it was Friday night and very busy.
The food and service were excellent. We chose to sit inside and found it quite noisy. Our daughter has been and sat outside. She found it quiet. Perhaps it was the two large groups that contributed to the noise. Perhaps the decor contributed, too.
I was disappointed that there was no table d'hôte.
I loved the Louisiana flavours. I had the blackened catfish and it was delightful. We have visited New Orleans and found the cuisine at Nolah authentic. I would certainly recommend Nolah ( and I have).
It was a little pricey for a regular day but for a special occasion it was great.
I have lived in the West Island for several years but learned of Nolah only recently. Cannot understand how you have remained so hidden. I read the superb reviews last month so this past week when my son and his family were visiting from Virginia you were the destination of choice. All of us were delighted with the experience. I will certainly be returning.
NOLAH is quite a hidden gem in the West Island. I live close by and never even noticed it. It has a lovely terrace, and although close to a street, high plants around it give it some privacy.
The restaurant serves New Orleans southern cuisine. The menu is quite varied, with specials of the day as well. Southern food may be somewhat spicy for some persons' taste, but is delicious. I ordered blackened salmon with grits as a special side, and both the presentation and taste were excellent.
It is not just the main course, but the crème brulée with kahlua dessert was also very nicely presented and exquisite.
The service was impeccable, in line with an upscale restaurant, with a very knowledgeable and friendly Maitre D.
I am a loover of New Orleans food having been there twice and gone to all the bogies. Nolah is superior to some I have dined at in NOLA. The big advantage to Nolah is that I can be there in 20 minutes and in CAD.
Delicious food, intelligent menu. Only downfall was that we were waiting about 30 minutes for each course to be served.
Love the food and the staff never disappoint. We travel from Toronto a few times a year to have the Nolah experience.
Great food & super authentic! We had a fabulous time. Waitstaff were very attentive
Food and service was great but the AC was not sufficient during the heatwave so it was a bit too warm inside.
Awesome food; the appetizers (ceviche, crab cake, tacos) were all amazing. Like the fact that they always have a different menu on the chalkboard that is different from the main menu. For main course the fried chicken is so good, and the scallops are out of this world. I will go back there very soon.
Always a great experience. Highly recommend! My favorite resto in the west island.
It was our second time there, this time with friends. We wre fortunate to ge a ta le on the terrace which was very intimate. As on our first time, fhe food was amazing.
Excellent food and service. Very pleasant atmosphere.
I like to come eat here for brunch. The food is always great, there is specials that vary week to week and are always delicious. The service is quick, staff is always nice.
I truly appreciated my evening at Nolah's. It was my first time dining there and I will DEFINITELY return. The food was great, the service was very good and the southern vibe of the menu really lived up to the NOLA acronym (New Orleans, Louisana).
I've been to Bistro Nolah dozens of times over the last few years, and it occurred to me that I hadn't reviewed it for Open Table. Nolah is an absolute gem in the West Island. On our most recent visit we chose Nolah to host a dinner for an out of town guest. When planning his trip, he specifically requested we take him back to the bistro we went on his last visit that was so good (Nolah!). But, the spot is equally great for a date, or just a regular night out when you are looking for something a little different. These guys have managed to create something truly special. The food is fine dining quality, and there are always unique options on the menu that you don't see anywhere else. Everything about this restaurant is approachable - the food is incredible, the ambiance is warm and cozy, the service is impeccable, but it never borders on fussy. This is hospitality done right. They also have an interesting wine list with bottles at different price points.
At our most recent visit, I had the 1/2 rack of lamb with salsa verde. The lamb was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the salsa verde was the perfect blend of tangy with fresh herby finish. One of my dining companions had the fried chicken with salad. I got to try a bite of the chicken, and the seasoning mix in the batter is really stellar. Better yet, the chicken was still nice and moist and perfectly fried. My other dining companion had the pork Creole. It was a really tender cut of osso buco, and he said the creole sauce was a nice heat without being overly spicy. That's the thing about Nolah. They are mad scientists about getting the perfect mixes of spicy and sweet and salty and tangy all in one dish. If they bottled up all of the sauces they create, I would buy them all. It's why we keep coming back. We also shared a chocolate torte for dessert. I'm not a fan of overly sweet dishes, and the torte was perfect. The candied pecans on top are a sort of sweet and savory mix that is the best part of the dish.
Had reservations for 3 people at 7.00pm.
They had only 1 beer left... This was on a Thursday....
They also ran out of 2 dishes on the menu.
The girl who served us didn’t smile, was rude and was unapologetic for lack of beer or limited choice on menu.
Bistro Nolah is by far my favourite restaurant in the West Island. No matter what I choose, it is always beyond incredible. The shrimp and grits are my go to meal, and the appetizer shrimp taco (if you are lucky enough to get it on the table d’hote). Have never been disappointed at Bistro Nolah! After every visit, I am always looking forward to my next.
I'll go back !very good food, good price, nice terrasse
We have had dinner at Nolah ( at least 5 times) and have enjoyed it so much. This past weekend we had out of town guests and took them to Nolah for Brunch. It was outstanding. So much so that we are going back for brunch next Sunday.
The food was delicious - all four of us had the Shrimp Creole with Jambalaya. The service was excellent. Our only complaint would be the very cold air blowing down directly on our shoulders. If you get indoor seating, I suggest bringing something to cover up - a sweater, light jacket, pashima, etc
Beautiful little neighbourhood restaurant. I have been twice, for brunch and dinner, and it was nice that the staff was the same, both in and out of the kitchen. The wait staff is very pleasant and helpful, and the food is wonderful! Lovely little patio to sit on in nice weather as well. Looking forward to going again!
My husband and I had heard about Bistro Nolah and it was everything & more! We loved the lunch specials as well as the wine by the glass. Food was delicious and if you like spicy, this is the place for you. Service was excellent too! Would highly recommend and we shall be back.
Nolah never fails to impress with beautifully prepared food. High quality ingredients are treated with respect and expertise.
The food did not disappoint but the service fell a bit short!
Great food!! Food took a little while to come but overall everything was great!
It was our first dining experience at bistro Nolah . The staff was wonderful and attentive, the service was great, and the food was amazing! We will definately be returning!
I like the fact that there was a bottle of wine @ $30 ( Woodbridge Sauvignon Blanc). Some restaurants charge way too much for a bottle of wine that is average at best.
It was my husbands birthday, we have been wanting to dine here in forever! But we had such an AMAZING meal. Thank you
Fresh and tasty. Worth the drive to the west island. Quick service and knowledgeable staff. We will return for the brunch for sure !
We very much enjoy the cocktails at Nolah. The main courses were delicious, the plating is attractive and colourful, and the service excellent. Dessert was a bit too rich and large a portion after such a big meal. We will definitely be back.
Great food and nice service. The chicken and French toast was just right.
Always a winner and never disappoints in both food and service.
Tout était parfait sauf pour le bruit. On ne s'entendait pas parler car le niveau sonore était trop élevé.
Have been there for lunch and dinner but this was a first for Mother's Day brunch. Food and service were excellent. We were a large group and everyone got their food at the same time. All in all, excellent experience!
Really excellent, we loved it and can't wait to go back!
The food was excellent as was the service. We had a very good evening.
