Bistro Mezzaluna Ratings and Reviews
We chose this restaurant for our Father's Day dinner. It was our first time dining here. Robert, our waster, was great...in service & personality. We started with jumbo shrimp cocktail & lump crab cocktail. Amazing! The veal chop & lamb chops were superb. Key lime pie was the grand finale. Will definitely go back.
We went for dinner for our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised. This was our first time at this restaurant. The service was amazing from the minute we walked through the door all the way up to dessert. The food was excellent and served hot. There were so many things we would have liked to try, so we will definitely come back.
Old world excellence at every turn. Friendly, experienced and well trained service team compliments the hand crafted artisan pasta dishes, fresh fish, aged steaks and rustic salads. Was plain to see the restaurant caters to both the tourist and the regular local clients, with a lively happy hour and entertainment in the bar. The backlit menus are an amazing find and I immediately shared the concept via video with several friends who own restaurants. Overall 5 star experience with execution that sparkled from valet, host, bar, kitchen and wait teams.
The restaurant was in a large building with no windows. The waiter was good and tried to speak Italian but managed a only a few words. The food plates were huge and not all that Italian or appetizing. The overall impression was that of a large operation that was "fake" Italian.
It was Mother's Day and I took my wife out to dinner, as we'd had a very good experience there during our last visit. Well second time around proved to be just as great as the first. Everything from the server, to the food, to the valet was top notch and worth every penny afforded for a wonderful dining experience! There will definitely be a 3rd time for us!
The food is always excellent whether you choose from the daily specials or the fantastic menu. We had good service with excellent food recommendations. The night was very memorable. Can't wait until I go back to my favorite Fort Lauderdale fine dining experience.
Food was good, however we went with a baby and they didnt have enough high chairs so we had to eat(uncomfortably) with a baby on the lap. Their excuse was "sorry we don't have enough high chairs because usually not many babies come here" very lame excuse. Not a baby friendly restaurant
Although Bistro Mezzaluna has been in its present location for five years, we hadn't been to the current site. We were delighted. The atmosphere is classy yet comfortable. The service is exceptional. The food is worth a drive from anywhere. Most important, is the fact that the space is quiet enough, even when very busy, to hold a conversation without raising one's voice at all. We look forward to our next visit.
Bistro Mezzaluna had been recommended to me due their outstanding lobster bisque soup and they did not disappoint! We also enjoyed the pear salad, pine nut crusted sea bass and filet. I highly recommend their truffle and mushroom risotto, but not the garlic broccoli for a side dish. If possible, ask to sit outside under their covered space as it so relaxing to listen to the nearby water fountain. In addition, I would like to recognize Bistro Mezzaluna's excellent customer service. Our server, Eric, was able to fulfill each and ever request during our first experience at this restaurant in which I highly recommend trying.
Excellent menu. Third time dining here in 5 years.
Food prepared well but everything was slightly over cooked. Especially the fish dishes. Otherwise wonderful preparations.
This was a birthday celebration. Waiter forgot.... then realized. Made no attempt to correct by bringing candle, etc. just an "oh well".....
Check was $307. Waiter took my AX card and ran it "in error" for $487. Claimed to have inadvertently charged the wrong dinner check. Of course, when I "noticed" , it was immediately corrected. We dine out 5 nights per week ...... for many years. I don't recall such a mistake in the past. Inexcusable!!! A comment on the lack of attention to detail.
Would we go back? For sure. The location and proximity to the Everglades port alone make it a worthwhile dining stop (especially if you are going to cruise). Overall, the menu is good value. Buyer beware! Compare your dining check to the credit card charges!!!
I have dined at Bistro Mezzaluna before on three occasions. This visit was our last.
Expensive, poor service and a Filet Mignon I had to send back because the salt shaker was emptied on the beef. For a Friday night the place was empty and the bar with live entertainment was sparse.
I frequent this restaurant since I move to Florida and before they move to the new location. The food is outstanding however this night I brought friends with us to introduce them to what I always thought was a great Italian restaurant. We were seated and the waiter was the worst I've ever had anywhere. My wife ordered a French martini and was given a cosmopolitan I picked a bottle of wine off the wine list and was brought something totally different and told by the waiter, this is what I ordered. Then he went and looked at the wine list and found that that's not what I wanted. Then be puts his hand on my shoulder and talk to me like he knows me. He doesn't know me. When you go to a restaurants of this caliber the entire experience is what you're there for. The ambience, the dinner and the service. No waiter should ever touch you or argue with you, a customer and for this reason it will be a long time before I go back to this restaurant. I actually had to go to the manager Frank and ask to change my waiter so that I can at least enjoy my dinner with friends.
