Bistro Limoncello - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Went for a Sat. night dinner with a friend. It was not crowded and our waitress was very accommodating. Ordered appetizer, cocktails (limited number but very tasty) and main entrée. My limoncello scampi was delicious with large tender shrimp. we talked for hours and it felt very comfortable. I would recommend.
We have been meaning to try this place, and a gift card from a friend got us there. Simple menu executed well. Delicious cocktail, good wine list, pleasant, efficient service. The live music made talking difficult, but the jazz trio was excellent. We'll be back!
Was looking forward to a Phantom Gourmet pick. The food was luke warm with overcooked pasta and the chicken was chewy. Was surprised that the cappuccino we ordered was not hot at all and the server new this and said she even preheated the cups and offered to microwave our coffees. 🤔 Very disappointed and will not be returning!
There for two hours, for pasta, on a friday evening after we all worked all day. 6:30-8:30. Service was so slow. One hour to get our pasta dishes, though not many people in there, and waited five minutes for cheese after we got food! As italians, we know how long pasta takes. Manager said there was only one chef and offered free desserts. Would rather have had meals half comped. Not worth the cost and wait. Dont care what phantom gourmet says.
Dinner was just ok, but I give them the benefit of the doubt. It was mother's day and we were the last ones to be seated. I think they were all tired. Starter was mussels in white wine sauce that was very bland and mussels tasted frozen and mealy. Main course Filet Mignon with vegetables and roasted potatoes. Filet was cold and roasted potatoes weren't roasted at all, just boiled. Didn't give the food back as we wanted to go home and we like our steak medium rare - would have been too well done if re-heated. My husband has been there before for a business dinner and he enjoyed it, so I will give them another try someday.
Once again we enjoyed excellent food and service. We were seated promptly unlike at a Westborough Italian restaurant where we no longer dine. Some visit, I will actually order another dish other than my favorite Sinatra chicken and sausage dish. Well, maybe.
My wife and I enjoy trying new places and returning to ones that stick. This one will not be a return visit. The ambiance is well suited for a night out with no kids. The service, although prompt and attentive, seemed awkward at times. As for the food... I will not go into specifics, but the bread and oil before the meal, were the best part.
4 of us had lunch on a Saturday. We had the dining room to ourselves! The food was prepared well, presented well, and served piping hot. The wait staff had little to do, but were not annoying. They let us chat and relax. We were slow to order and lingered. It was an enjoyable visit with friends that we had not seen for a while.
Four of us came for dinner. I strayed from my go to classics and tried the veal saltimbocca(sp?)
It was OK, I tad too salty for my tastes but still good. They could have added a bit more veal to the plate as it was a bit shy.
All else liked their meals and we all left filled. Total bill with a few drinks $150 plus tip.
My wife and I were very pleased with every aspect of our visit. We were seated immediately, had bread and water within a minute or two, and were greeted by our waitress immediately after that. Everything we ordered came quickly, and was delicious. The only change I would recommend, is that they list the pricing on the separate Specials menu. My wife and I both ordered entrees (and her appetizers) from it. We likely would have ordered the same had we known the pricing, but I was a bit surprised when I examined the check. Overall, a great local spot, with great service, great food, and mostly reasonable pricing. I recommend that you give it a try.
Bistro Limoncello is a local favorite of ours. The food is always wonderful, tasty, and portions are great. Our server, Marty, was personable, informative, and even as things got busy still responsive to our needs. I tend to pick from the specials offered; which have always been fantastic, but my family loves the veal dishes. We have never been disappointed and we definitely recommend!
Beautiful restaurant. We met another couple there for dinner over the weekend. Ordered meatballs and melanzane rollatini for appetizer. Both were delicious. House salad came next, generous size. I ordered the Frutti Di Mare for dinner, it was delicious; again generous portion. Two people in my party ordered the Veal Saltimbocca for their dinner. They felt it was good but too much lemon, taste more like piccata instead. They switched the pasta on two of the dishes but they were quick to make it better with free dessert. Would definitely try again.
My husband and I made a reservation for Valentines Day. The menu looked very good, so thought we give it a try. The food was very good. We got a meatball appetizer that was good, but my husband thought could have been a bit warmer. I got chicken parmesean as I wanted to try out the red sauce, my husband got con pollo and broccoli. My chicken parm was amazing. Panko crust was delicious and crispy, the cheese was fresh and perfectly melted, all in all, the best I have had I'm sure. When my husbands meal came he thought it looked light on the chicken in the plate, but he devoured every bite and found it to be quite filling. Don't let size affect your judgement, the portions were perfect.
Our server was polite, and the waitstaff in general were very polite as well. I do think they understaffed for such a big date night. It appeared they only had 2 waitresses serving 20 tables. Though we were served our dinners and dessert fairly quickly, our waitress was held up by a larger table and another arriving table and we didnt' get our bill for 30 minutes after we got our dessert. This is something we hate about eating out. My advice for all waiters and waitresses is to come back shortly after dropping off the dessert and leaving the bill with a 'no rush' comment.
Overall nice place, good food, but you need more staff! :)
Had a Valentine reservation, were greeted/seated promptly. Table a bit small but OK. Bread basket had 1 type of bread which is fine by us and the bread was good. We shared an appetizer, brussel sprouts, which we both enjoyed. My date had one of the V-day specials, sea bass. I ordered caesar salad and Chicken Sinatra which is one of the normal house specials. Sea bass was very good. Caesar salad was not good at all, not inedible, but the flavors I expected were not there. I order Caesar salad a lot. All the others have been similar; this was bland. The Chicken Sinatra was also pretty bland. Both my salad and entre I could easily have made better at home. Ordered a slice of their lemon cake to go. It was good but laughable for the skimpy size. Service was annoyingly slow. It seemed like there was plenty of help but maybe the kitchen was to blame? Prices seemed a bit high. All in all a very unimpressive experience, will not be back.
Our waitress was not very good. The other staff was fine. Food was slow and honestly better food and value if we'd gone to Bertucci's. I don't mind spending a lot if it's all great. But that wasn't the case. Even the Caesar salad was somehow bland. Baffling.
This is the third time we have been there and each time has been disappointing. We decided to give it one last try to see if you had improved in 9 to 12 months.
I had the special of sausage and shrimp bowtie pasta with the marinara sauce. As a special it should be something I don't know special? First the dish came out barely warm and second sausage was average sausage at best and a little overcooked. But the worst part was the shrimp which as a dish I love. It was the most robbery and either totally over cooked or somewhat under cooked , it was hard for me to tell. I literally couldn't eat more than two of the fairly large shrimp which was such a huge waste.
Really a very very below average Italian restaurant which I would not recommend to anyone and I don't leave this lightly . I leave very few personal reviews and we go to a lot of restaurants Monthly
They desperately need a new chef.
