Bistro L'Hermitage Ratings and Reviews
A lovely restaurant. It is beautifully decorated and looks so French. The tables were set with white tablecloths and pretty china . A visual treat. The waiter was very friendly and the service was excellent. The lunch menu was varried with light lunch choices as well as a full selection of entrees. The food was very good and beautifully presented. Would love to return and experience their dinner service.
Sunday Brunch here is always a treat! Our waiter, Carlos, remembered us & seated us in a favorite corner. Soon we were relaxed with Kir Royales in hand. They have delicious croissants & fresh French bread served with butter & strawberry jam. Not a place to watch your carbs! I love their soup presentation, and the Lobster Bisque is yummy. Barry is addicted to the smoked salmon platter w/ all the accoutrements. We both had steak w/ shallot-cabernet sauce, but mine was NY Strip & he chose Hanger. Both are divine. I had a glass of Bordeaux. We both had dessert. He had the lava cake w/ chocolate ice cream. I had the dessert trio (crème brulee, chocolate mousse & lemon tart). Beautiful & scrumptious. This is an authentic French restaurant. The only decent, white tablecloth restaurant in the Occoquan-Woodbridge area. Prices are more than reasonable.
Took my girlfriend here for New Year's Eve. Had one of the most wonderful three-course meals; the appetizer, main course, and dessert were all unique, well-presented, and tasted absolutely amazing. Service was on point, and the whole room was decorated for New Year's with balloons and wreaths, really a great atmosphere. This is the second time I've come to their New Year's Eve dinner and I plan on reserving a seat for next year as soon as I can.
Unfortunately we were a table of six and we were shoved into a corner backing up to another table. Very uncomfortable, something was obviously wrong with our order, it took an hour and a half to get our food. Paid in cash but they never brought my change. I would have probably left it all but it's nice to be given the opportunity to decide how much to leave.
Overall a great restaurant with good food, service and great ambiance.
The best restaurant in the Washington, D.C. area; our favorite anywhere worldwide. The service is top-notch from the moment you walk through the door until your last bite. The food is creative, generous, and delicious. It is equally perfect for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a celebration with a large group of friends.
There were 6 of us in our party and they seated us at a round table which was great for conversation. This is my third time dining here and the service and food was fantastic as usual. Everyone had salads to start, two people also ordered appetizers, the main courses ranged from leg of lamb, to duck to tuna to a steak special. Everyone was very happy with their meals. We ordered two bottles of wine, two specialty drinks, and 4 desserts to share. The best thing about this restaurant is that they never rush you. We were seated at 7:00 and didn’t leave until 9:30. I think this is my favorite restaurant!
Excellent food and service; most of our group had a chef's special which were overall more appealing than the regular menu. A bit too noisy, not an issue on earlier visits. I wonder if they'd squeezed in a couple of extra tables for the holiday season, or just a louder crowd over the holidays. Great place for an upscale dinner without any traffic or parking issues.
We've dined here for special occasions, and we were celebrating a birthday during this past visit. The service was exceptional and the food divine. This visit was the busiest I've ever seen it and as a result, the noise level was rather high, making it difficult to carry on a conversation near the end of our dinner. Despite the noise, a delightful dining experience.
There are many local restaurants to choose from to dine out for special occasions in my area. The Bistro outshines them all from the moment you arrive they make you feel welcome. Their menu selections are amazing. I have never tasted anything quite like it. Simply delicious. Dessert was fascinating and delightful.
Bistro L'Hermitage has excellent service, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Every dish I have tried has been divine. It literally melts in your mouth. My husband loves the lobster bisque, I prefer the french onion soup. Both are fantastic. The house salad is a full plate with lots of vegetables. It is difficult to chose the main dish because they have so many wonderful selections from the skirt steak to the duck, everything is fantastic.
I highly recommend this restaurant for a gathering of friends, a romantic date, or a fun filled holiday dinner with family.
This was the first time we visited and came highly recommend by colleagues so we gave it a shot on Christmas Eve. The outside looks like a cute little causal beach cottage - standing out from its surrounding, was decorated interestingly shabby chic-ish. Inside is white table clothes but does not feel stuffy and on the casual side. However, you would be comfortable in a suit and tie or at least a sports coat. Blown glass chickens on each table seemed to be a theme. We were greeted and escorted to our lovely table for two surrounded by 4/5 tops. But it was cozy and comfortable. We were doted on by the lead server who was assisted by 3 or 4 additional wait staff. Never had to wait or worry about service. Point on.
The menu is good. Dinner does not have separate vegetarian options, however, I was taken care of. We loved the variety of flavors offered on one plate. A mixture of seasoning, texture and preparation methods was a delight for the taste buds. The eggplant and goat cheese with arugula salad - to die for. My husband had a shrimp dish and I had a special vegetarian plate consisting of 5 specialty side orders and risotto. The wine suggestion by our server paired nicely with our meal.
Highly recommend the Grand Trio for dessert. Our server surprised us with a sorbet trio as well so basically we had 6 different flavors of sugary goodness. Save room during your meal and treat yourself.
Price-wise was well below what I thought we were going to spend. Our entire meal including wine came to $135.00. Well worth every penny plus t is now our favorite place to dine for those special nights out.
We went to Bistro L'Hermitage for the first time last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the food and friendly service.
Wonderful, wait staff, tasty food, great wine. I would recommend this restaurant for either a group or a romantic dinner to celebrate a special day. The wait staff were very attentive and seemed to be very friendly with repeat customers. We will definitely go back again!
Excellent food and top notch service. The only draw back was the noise level. Maybe it's the way the bistro is built (wood paneling, etc.) or the loud table just behind us (one too many bottles of wine combined with several members of the party's extremely loud conversation and booming laughter) but it was so noisy it was hard to hear the hoped for intimate conversation with my spouse of many years just across the table. But the food and wine are superb so we will try it again and hope for quieter neighbors!
