Bistro L'Hermitage Ratings and Reviews
Bistro L'Hertitage provided the perfect experience for my wife's birthday. I wouldn't have changed a thing and I look forward to going back. Truly is the perfect restaurant for anyone looking for romantic or intimate setting. One of the best restaurants in Northern VA
Our only white tablecloth restaurant in the area! Classic French dishes. Dinner & brunch are both delightful. We were here for Saturday Brunch. I had divine Lobster Bisque (after a croissant served with butter & jam). Hubby chose the smoked salmon platter which was perfect. My traditional Eggs Benedict was perfect (but they also serve it with smoked salmon). Barry loved his Hangar steak. We even had dessert! The lemon tart is fantastic, as was the Chocolate lava cake. We both enjoyed cups of Cappuccino. Very attentive service. No complaints at all! Worth a drive to Occoquan.
We talked about it for days. Everything was perfect. The wine, food, service, ambience was very very special, and I would recommend it to anyone who feels like a meal can be a special occasion. We had the salmon, tuna and escargot. The waiter and assistants couldn't have been more attentive, and we will be returning soon. My suggestion, just do it!
We heard of this place before but never indulged. It is a bit pricey but overall well worth it. The food, wine, and staff were exceptional. This tops the list as one of our special places to go when we want to celebrate or just have a extra nice dinner out.
My second visit to this restaurant. Food did not disappoint. Service was excellent, but a little enthusiastic for my taste. I also found the restaurant busier and noisier than before, so conversation was a little more difficult. Just a personal preferences, it did not detract from our experience. This is an excellent restaurant, and I will be back.
My husband and I have been taking our friends to Bistro L'Hermitage since we discovered this gem a couple of years ago. The food is always delicious, the wait staff, top notch. Joseph the owner makes you feel so welcome. Bistro L'Hermitage is at the top of our list for one of the best restaurants.
Our party of six had a wonderful evening. We ordered several appetizers and 5 of us had various fish/scallop dishes while the 6th diner had “NY Steak” which we thought would be NY Strip. It was a bit tough while the diner that had seared tuna said it wasn’t the best quality tuna. Having said this, the service and ambiance were great......perhaps double down on the quality of some proteins. It was a bit too warm in there but we were seated by a light. I would, having written this review, return to the restaurant.
Really enjoyed our evening with friends & I highly recommend. There were 6. My husband & I shared the salade verte which was very, very good. Then I had the roasted chicken. It was one of the best chicken entrees I have ever had. We were all pleased with our meals & the excellent service.
The food overall was excellent! The mussel, the scallop appetizers, and the soup were superb. The ambiance was excellent and they turned down the music so my wife and I could converse. The filet for the main course was an excellent piece of meat and cooked to perfection; however, after the flavorful appetizers, the lack of flavor was a disappointment. The desserts were also superb. The waiter was excellent; but it was difficult to get our water glasses refilled and to get more bread.
Had a delicious lunch at this French restaurant. There were many options on the menu to choose. I had the lobster bisque followed by garlic shrimp with couscous. Yummy 😋. The service was outstanding as well. Very bistro like atmosphere which made me feel like I was in France. Highly recommend this place.
A hidden gem we discovered after living nearby for two decades. On our first visit, the place was quiet and conversation easy. On our second visit, it was difficult to speak beyond the person next to you. Other then that minor complaint, this is the best restaurant in the Occoquan area.
We have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time and finally were able to do so on Nov. 11 for a dinner with good friends. My overall reaction: WOW! The service was excellent, from our entrance to our exit several hours later. At our table in the beautifully decorated dining room we were met by a complimentary cocktail. The table setting was as beautiful as the rest of the decor. The French bread we was just perfect, fresh but crusty. My wife and I shared a Ceasar salad, complete with white anchovies. Our entrees--red snapper with polenta and scallops with roasted potatoes--were amazing. Due to diets we decided to pass on dessert, but a complimentary platter of small desserts--chocolate moose, creme brulee, and a lemon custard--was a great way to sample sweets without overdoing it. I can't wait to return.
