This is a true gem in Prince William (Occoquan) and we absolutely loved the experience. The décor was nicely done and reminded me of many places I have di in cities around France. Service was outstanding. Everyone we encountered from the young woman who offered to take our coats at the door, to the friendly people who unobtrusively kept our glasses full, to our wonderful and knowledgeable waitress were top notch. I would compare them favorably to some of the nicer restaurants downtown. Although I normally don't select anything fried, the oyster appetizer was superbly done. My dinner partner loved her red snapper and I thought the lamb shank I had was perfectly done. The sauces and sides were nicely done and the presentation was excellent. They have a nice wine list and the crème brulee nicely completed the meal. Now that we have discovered it, we will be back!
Perfect evening. Thanks
Fabulous food , presentation is fabulous as well. Bring your credit card , it is pricey . An excellent venue for a special occasion .
Wonderful service. Food cooked perfectly. Too full for dessert but they gave us a free creme brulee for our anniversary celebration.
We went to Bistro L’Hermitage for the first time in a long time. As usual the meal and the service were exemplary. It’s my daughters 26th birthday and she was treated wonderfully as we all were. The drinks were also fabulous
My husband had a wonderful date night here, the food was excellent, the service was even better - it was an all around wonderful dining experience. We will return and would recommend this place to anyone.
This was our 36th anniversary and the restaurant personnel made it very special. The wait staff was exceptional and so was the food.
Always fantastic! One of our favorite in town spots.
49th wedding anniversary .
Tell your host(young lady) to smile a little. Other than that everything is perfect. Would definitely come back again.
Amazing duck dinner. Food was great, service as well. A bit loud as we were seated in a corner near the bar and the background music was a little loud. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful.
We always love coming here for dinner. Great food, service, cocktails, wines, and
Despite the threat of a lot of snow, the restaurant was full when we left. We purposely made an early reservation because of the storm. As always, the food and service were excellent.
We love Bistro so when it came time to planning our anniversary we opted to try their brunch for the first time. The service never disappoints and neither does the food. Thank you, Lou for a memorable experience. We will be back soon.
Birthday celebrations are perfect at Bistro L’Hermitage. We have celebrated birthdays every year since they open and it just is perfect and unique every time. Food, service, atmosphere are always perfect!
The food is always delicious and the service is excellent. The specials are always fresh usually include a seafood option that you must try. I have highly recommended this wonderful gem to friends and others for years. You must have a dessert.
The food and service are always exceptional A very quaint and enjoyable place to go!
As always, we had a wonderful meal and excellent service. We love the charm of the the restaurant - takes us back to France.....
Attentive staff, amazingly delicious food. Our preferred special occasion dining location. My father joined us and said it had been years since he had enjoyed a meal as much as he enjoyed this one.
I wish that I lived next door so I could dine at the Bistro more often. Food is especially well prepared and the Staff is attentive. Probably appeals to a bit more sophisticated Clientell
My wife and I enjoyed our first time dining experience at Bistro L’Hermitage. The ambiance made us feel that we were back in France. Very good staff.
We went to celebrate an anniversary. The specialties of the day were presented as "Happy anniversary the chef has prepared for you a white cranberry martini" but we did not understand until we started hearing dinner options of what the "chef had prepared for you this evening" that we were hearing the specialties of the day. So we were a bit confused at first and had drinks we did not enjoy. Fortunately our waiter accepted my sharing that I was not enjoying the drink, that I had misunderstood it was a specialty not "on the house" and he gave me a drink I like at no charge. We were happy and really enjoyed the location of our table.
Charming and warm French Country House feel, yet elegantly set table. A bit noisy. Will definitely go again when we want to experience something special.
Always excellent food and wonderful service
Enjoyed the 5 course chef’s tasting. Outstanding meal and great service. Expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. Had scallops, foie gras, halibut, rack of lamb and desert trio. Yum.
It was a wonderful surprise to learn Bistro L’Hermitage serves brunch on Sundays. I’d only been for dinner. My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious brunch ( I had eggs Benedict; she had waffles with fresh berries) . As always, the service was friendly, gracious, and excellent. And as always, the atmosphere was relaxed, so we felt we could settle in without being rushed and have a nice conversation to catch up on each other’s lives.
Loved Brunch! Great ambiance. Delicious Champagne
Bistro L' Hermitage is always such a wonderful dining experience. Nothing has ever disappointed us there and getting there more often is my only complaint. We Love it!!
Outstanding food. Ordinary service. We felt rushed throughout the evening. It was clear that the server couldn’t wait to wrap it up and go home ..... we saw him rushing out even before we left, which was just before 10pm!
Excellent customer service from the time you walk through the doors until you leave! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect!
Great food and service.
Bistro L'Hermitage was outstanding, as usual. We have gone there numerous times and the meal this time was the best we have ever had there (it was their filet mignon). Once we were seated we had to wait a while to get our waiter's attention, but he finally came to our table and started rattling off the dinner specials. We calmly announced that we would like cocktails first, which made him realize we did not want to feel rushed. After that, we had our cocktail, ordered our dinner and everything was outstanding. This is definitely the place to go for good food and ambiance. We felt like we were back in France! Merci beaucoup!
Always an excellent experience - Service - Food - Cocktails/Wine - We have been back many many times - one of our favoirites especially for special occassions and a special treat
Unpleasant experience! We are not from Washington and did not realize how long the trip to the restaurant would be. We arrived 20 minutes late and were chastised by the hostess. Mind you there were many open tables. The other hostess who seated us was very unpleasant because the 4th person in our party had canceled out. As my daughter said, the initial encounter created a "bad taste". The service was just so, so, with long waits between courses. The food was good but certainly not anything special and quite overpriced. The overall experience was disappointing especially as it was supposed to be a special Christmas eve dinner. We will never return and certainly would discourage our D.C. friends from dining there.
We had a great time. Carlos is a great waiter.
Food was great and taisty
We decided to give Bistro another try for our Christmas Eve dinner. We were promptly seated at our requested table in the corner. It's nice usually quiet and a good view of the restaurant. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Malbec with our meal. The service was inconsistent. Our order was taken promptly and wine and appetizer came quickly. She was going to taste the wine but it was poured in my glass. Our entrees were eventually served but without the side dishes we ordered. When the sides finally came they were cold. Dessert was great. We will probably return since Bistro is the nicest restaurant around without having to go into the District or fight parking in Old Town Alexandria.
This was the anniversary of our first date and we wanted to have a special evening. Bistro L'Hermitage fits the bill. They are so friendly and the food is exceptional. We enjos the restaurant very much.
We've been to the Bistro many times and my parents have been regulars for over 30 years. This experience was very disappointing as the noise was awful and the service very very slow. Normally we have a GREAT experience in this restaurant. Not the past time...very sub par. Where was the owner on a busy night? No where to be seen!! And I thought my folks would have gotten more recognition by the wait staff for their continued loyalty......no one came over to wish my Dad well despite 30 years of weekly patronage!!! Very disappointing trip to the Bistro....Had it been my first I would not go back. Sorry to say as I think this is normally a superb place to go eat.....but not this time! Where was the Yousseff??? He should be there on a busy night!!
Amazing experience. Wonderful food and service. By far the best restaurant for miles and miles and miles!! Love this place.
Food was GREAT; service EXEMPLARY ... the BEST of Occoquan!
