Food and service was excellent, as usual. A hidden gem of a French restaurant in Woodbridge/Occoquan.
Service was very fast and the wait staff was excellent.
Great food and service. Noise level has unfortunately increased.
The rack of lamb was bland. The mahi and shrimp was bland as well. Disappointing for the price. $44 and $40. The oysters were decent, cocktails were great.
Bistro L'Hermitage is our guaranteed great meal when dining out. We love the food and staff and are never disappointed - we would highly recommend this restaurant!
A wonderful evening at L'Hermitage. The food and service were terrific. We celebrated our wedding anniversary.
Outstanding as always. We visit the Bistro for all our special occasions. Our latest visit was for my wife's birthday. Our server Carlos made the visit even more special.
Love, love, love this place! The staff treats you like family-all of them. The food is always exceptional, from the champagne risotto to the strawberry jam that is hand made and served at brunch. Always a special experience.
Birthday celebration for our two children.
Enjoyed the food and ambience but did not care for the seating.
This place never disappoints. The food is outstanding and the service is top notch.
This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions and it never disappoints. My husband and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and although we never mentioned it, at the end of the meal our waiter brought us a special dessert with a candle and wished us a happy anniversary. Somehow he knew (maybe from prior year celebrations?) but it made us feel like we were part of the Bistro family. It’s hard to explain how inviting the restaurant makes you feel and how wonderful the service (and of course the food) is, but I recommend you go and see for yourself. It is the best!
I liked the sufficient attention throughout the meal as opposed to over attention
Very well trained and engaging staff
Excellent food and service
The food was spectacular as always and the service was similar.
Bistro L’ Hermitage is my favorite restaurant, especially when dining with family. I was celebrating my birthday and the food and ambiance that evening was magnificent. Five stars for this restaurant!
Love to go here....great food... great service....easy to talk with friends....cosy....
Exceptional food for the area and a nice wine list. Would definitely recommend if in the area.
Me and the wife come here for dinner often. Made the rsvp and requested for table 2 and our favorite waiter Carlos. We didn’t get the table or our waiter. Food is always amazing it just it takes a little long. So Get your orders in.
The Bistro is ALWAYS our favorite dining experience. The service, attention to detail and, of course, the food are all beyond compare. Thank-you for another delicious dinner.
Service was outstanding, really liked the ambiance.
Wasn’t impressed by the food. It was good but left something to be desired.
Overall good experience and really good value.
Always fabulous, consistently wonderful food, service and ambiance. Had a terrific birthday brunch for a friend--the trout with champagne risotto was otherworldly, as was the hangar steak with eggs and breakfast potatoes/salad! I bring so many friends to this restaurant and they return on their own as well! Recently also tried the mussels gratin for shared appetizer--over the top wonderful!
The food was exceptional, and the presentation was perfect! I am counting the days until my next visit.
Fantastic setting...romance or business. Food is exquisite.
The restaurant was superb as expected. This is our “go to” place in Northern VA when we want great food, greater service and a super experience. Never tire of the menu; this time wife had the Chicken Napoleon (enough to feed his whole army) and I had veal though I planned on having a fish entrée. We’d started with a shared calamari appetizer with roasted pineapple then wife had the cream of broccoli soup and I had my usual- the Caesar salad with white anchovies. We always trust the staff for our wine choices and they never disappoint and didn’t this time either.
My score is due to the quality of the Meat for some reason unknown to me the quality is not the same as the previous experience. Thanks You
Always an outstanding choice.
This is our go to for a great dinner south of DC. This is the first time in 4 years I didn’t love the food. I felt like everything was under or over cooked. But, we always have a fantastic time. The service is always great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will still be going back.
Fabulous as usual! Service was excellent and food was delicious!
Invited a professional colleague and her husband to dinner at a class restaurant. Couple drove for 2 and 1/2 hours from their home to get to the Bistro and us for dinner. It was critical for us to make a good impression and make their travel worthwhile.
Success! Staff and our favorite waiters knew this arrangement was important to us and didn't let us down!! Gave us the usual special treatment we've come to expect from the Bistro, and made the evening a resounding success. Well done, and we appreciate it!
Absolutely the best meal I have had in a very long time. Everything was prepared excellently and served immediately. For our starters:
I decided on the pan seared scallops with caramelized brussel sprouts, my husband ordered the purse shaped pasta filled with pear and cheese, with garlic cream sauce. The scallops were still sizzling, they were creamy and tender inside, crispy outside, coupled with the brussels sprouts and that glaze! The pasta purses were tender, yet toothsome, the perfect al dente. Smooth creamy filling, slighty sweet, and just enough. The creamy sauce was a glorious addition.
I selected the Wild caught Salmon with Pan seared shrimp and crab burre blanc sauce. Served with mashed potatoes and nestled on a bed of spinach. My husband selected the rack of lamb, cooked medium rare, served with baby spinach, squash/eggplant medley, and tomatoes, liberally drizzled with wine sauce. My Salmon was a dream, crusty skin side, creamy, melty inside, and steaming as I cut into it! The shrimp were just done, nicely seasoned, and juicy as I took a bite. The crab meat was a generous large portion of jumbo lump crab, the delicate flavor of the crab was enhanced with the sauce. The mashed potatoes were buttery and fluffy. My husbands lamb had a nice sear on the outside and was juicy, pink, flavorful and delicious on the inside. The squash medley included yellow summer, zucchini and baby eggplant slices, displayed on the plate with the tomato slices. For dessert: I chose the bread pudding topped with creme anglaise served with vanilla ice cream. My husband chose the almond tart with creme anglaise served with vanilla ice cream. The bread pudding was full of nuts, raisins, coconut, craisins and, I think, pineapple! Warm, tender, moist. So yummy. My husbands almond tart was warm and not overly sweet. Very tender, flaky crust and golden, cakey interior, very almond forward, and buttery.
Our waiter was outstanding. The atmosphere was inviting.
Every visit to this restaurant has been a joy. Be sure to try any specials they might offer. Their cream of broccoli soup was a delight.
We enjoyed our 31st anniversary date/dinner at PW County's best restaurant, Bistro L'Hermitage. It was a fantastic evening. My wife enjoyed fresh Tomato soup, Coquilles St. Jacques, Cappuccino and Creme Bruise as dessert. I had silky Lobster Bisque, Hanger Steak with Crab/Shrimp cake Potato Puree and Baby Spinach, coffee and Crepes du Jour (stuffed with fresh fruit). They knew it was our anniversary and added a complimentary Chocolate Mousse. The food was absolutely excellent. We felt welcomed and honored from the moment we walked in the door to each visit from the exceptionally attentive staff during out dinner.
We will be back many times to this amazing gem in Occoquan VA.
We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this wonderful and elegant dining experience.
We discovered Bistro "Hermitage a year ago and have been back several times since. We enjoy it every time. Service is perfect, sommelier great, chef outstanding. And the prices are reasonable. This is our new go-to restaurant for any occasion.
Our experience at Bistro L’Hermitage was one of those that you talk about for years. The building itself is quaint and very much in line with what we’d expect from a restaurant in France. The music was low and subdued but appropriate for the setting. The wait staff were professional, courteous, and worked together as a team. The food was absolutely outstanding from the appetizers/soup through to the main course and dessert. The portions were large and everything was cooked to perfection. We left very full but absolutely satisfied! I look forward to eating at Bistro L’Hermitage again and will definitely recommend them.
Superb service, well worth the cost
Everything was excellent, as is always the case at this fine restaurant!!
All I can say is best food and service ever! The food was awsome, the place and environment very romantic. Highly revommended
Never anything but spectacular meals at Bistro L'Hermitage.
