Bistro L'Hermitage Ratings and Reviews
We took a house guest here for a belated birthday. We were disappointed to see that Carlos was not working on Sunday but the staff treated us well. A little confusion about the birthday drink. They said it was dessert & ended up bringing over 3 comp Kir Royales. Later (after we were full & had ordered 3 desserts) they sent over a candle in a large Crème Brulee. Overkill albeit delicious. We loved the appetizers, entrees & desserts. So did our guest. None of us could eat dinner that night! Looking forward to our next adventure in Occoquan.
This places service was impeccable. The owner forgot we were bringing a new born with us and had a baby carrier with us so he didn’t have a table just yet so while we waited we were showered with campaign and appreciatizers. Then the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was superb. Best place to eat in town. Sad and happy that I just discovered this place.
A very cute and fancy restaurant. The food and service was excellent although the dessert could have been better for the price. The only con was that we felt like we were having dinner with the couple next to us. Overall a great dining experience! Will be back for sure!
This is our 3rd or 4th time at Bistro L'Hermitage and, as usual, the experience was awesome. The food is always very good and service is snappy. Great place if you want to enjoy French cuisine without the overbearing pretentiousness of other French restaurants. We'd never drive clear up to D.C. or Tysons so having a great restaurant this close is terrific.
Have eaten there many times before. Food is always excellent ... love the lobster bisque. Service on this occasion was lacking ... it seemed we were handed off from one server to another the entire evening. Following dessert, when we were obviously done and ready to leave, we sat ... and sat ... and sat ... while servers walked past us, cleared empty tables, etc. The head waiter and manager were too busy training and general bs'ing with the hostess. Finally got the check after a 20 minute wait. Disappointing.
We love this place, however-My wife and I expected to have an intimate dinner for Valentine's Day. Unfortunately a family showed up with a small child and made it seem like we were at a family chain restaurant! Nearly everyone (mostly couples) in the restaurant that night had dressed up for a special night. This family was not dressed for the occasion. Our table and one next to us were not happy sitting next to a family that not only got an exception to the Valentine's Day fixed price menu for the child, but carried on as though no one else was dining. Most of what we could hear over our conversation was "Do you want to color?" as the mother spoke frequently to her child to keep her behaved. When we were younger, with our toddler son, we had a babysitter or didn't go out. Had we not started our meal, I would have asked to move. Bistro Hermitage needs to discourage families from bringing small kids to special occasion meals.
Another great dinner with superb ambiance at Bistro L'Hermitage. The special occasion for my wife and I was Valentine's Day. We were personally greeted by the owner. Our table (one of our 3 favorites) was waiting for us. Dennis was outstanding in taking care of us (as he always is), with helpful suggestions and a story or two. Cocktails were put in front of us almost before we sat down. It was a special prix fixe 3-course dinner that was superbly prepared by the chef, as always. After cocktails and appetizers, we both chose the filet mignon--medium rare.
This is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner in a quiet ambiance. It's our favorite restaurant in Northern Virginia, bar none!
The perfect dinner before Valentines Day, we could not get a reservation on Valentines Day so we did the day before. Everything was great talked to a nice couple next to us. The food and service was great. This was our second time, and we went to the Bistro Hermitage because open table recommended it. Everything was great, the Red Rose and bags of candy was a nice touch when we were leaving. This is one of our favorite places to eat.
Not Excellent but OUTSTANDING!!
We enjoyed a meal that was truly Outstanding. The meal was superb and the wait staff was attentive, cordial, and efficient. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. We've enjoyed both a brunch and dinner meal and in each case we've been more than pleased. We'd highly recommend the Bistro L'Hermitage, especially for a "special occasion." We're already ooking forward to our next visit!
Another very enjoyable visit to this Resturant. The ambience is and excellent service. All of our meals were excellent. We had the duck breast, lamb chops and their seafood special of seared rockfish with a shrimp and crab cake. All of the accompanying vegetables were good too. This resturant I really is a hidden gem. Much better than most restraints in the Washington suburbs.
Authentic French cuisine and romantic ambience in a tucked-away corner of Woodbridge. The building is quite modest on the outside; but do not judge this book by its cover. This is a place to remember.
Wait staff were very friendly; and all displayed a subtle attentiveness which allowed us to continue our meal without ever feeling rushed. Extensive wine list and cocktail menu. The food was AMAZING! Best muscles I've ever had. Duck was perfectly cooked. Excellent location for a special evening with your significant other. A tad more expensive than other nearby places, but definitely worth the money. Do not miss out on this Occoquan gem.
Can't say enough about the whole experience. It was very quiet and not heavily trafficked, but it was Super Bowl Sunday evening, so it's understandable to people wouldn't be out in a place where the game isn't on.
The food, the setting, and the service were incredible. Expect to pay a lot, but it's all very well done and definitely a dining experience for those occasions where splurging is to be expected
We are becoming regulars here! Carlos, our favorite waiter, saved Table #2 for us today. Sunday Brunch is outstanding with quality fare as well as quantity. We were comped Kir Royales (any occasion will do) to enjoy with the bread basket, butter & strawberry jam. Then I had the soup presentation (the best Lobster Bisque in the Metro area!). Barry had an enormous smoked salmon platter w/ all the fixings. He continued on to a Hanger steak w/ asparagus (instead of French fries) while I tried the Trout w/ champagne risotto. Both were outstanding. I asked Carlos to suggest a glass of white wine. He brought 2 for me to try. The French Pinot Blanc beat out the Sauvignon Blanc I would have ordered. We both had Cappuccinos & dessert. My chocoholic got the lava cake w/ chocolate ice cream & I had the trio. Really a wonderful & authentic French restaurant in Occoquan, Virginia!
