   L'Hermitage is our "go-to" restaurant for special occasions. It is not "cheap" - quite expensive. However, the service, ambiance, food quality are all outstanding. My wife and I have been there several times for dinner, drinks, and even weekend brunch.

   Was there with the family to celebrate wife’s birthday. Perfect in everything, from the hostess to the service, food, ambiance… love this place. And Tony is such a special and attentive server that we really feel home here. Can’t recommend it enough.

    We just celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Bistro on Sunday, 12 March. We had a wonderful table in the back corner for 2 which was decorated with a beautiful floral bouquet. Our waiter, Tony, was truly delightful. He was always attentive to our needs and made the evening quite enjoyable. The food arrived quickly, hot and delicious. The team effort that the restaurant uses to remove dishes, refill water and make sure you have no issues is truly commendable. From the time we walked through the door until we left, all went very well. Thank you to everyone for a great evening.

    We went to Sunday brunch. I had the traditional Eggs Benedict and my date had the Eggs Benedict with salmon. The meal was prepared with great care and the presentation was perfect. We enjoyed the meal and the service was also great. Then we had the 3 part dessert: raspberry meringue, crème brûlée, and chocolate mousse each in their own dish. It was the perfect ending to a great brunch.

    Serviced as always was top notch. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly and was excellent. My beef bourguignon was good; however, the beef was tasteless.

    Our daughter and son in law were celebrating their wedding anniversary. As always, the wonderful service, food, ambience and wonderful wine list made this dinner very special and pretty perfect. If I could, I would eat here every day.

    Everything was perfect about the Bistro L’Hermitage. The service was excellent. My buddy and I ordered the veal liver and it was cooked just right and the red wine sauce was full of flavor. Could not have asked for anything better, it’s a treat to eat at this restaurant.

    First the good. Excellent service and a really nice table- a quiet corner. One delish starter- lobster bisque. One delish dessert- almond tart. We both had the seafood special which was stuffed salmon. Good not great. Not so good. Onion soup was bland and unexciting ( from a French place- WTH!), the lemon meringue tart had very little lemon and a pile of some crumbles that reminded me of sawdust. And finally, the stuffed salmon. Beautiful piece of salmon with nice shrimp and crab stuffing BUT- it was slightly over cooked (med well) so a bit dry. And it was served with crispy skin down, but on top of cold mashed potatoes. This could have been a terrific dish but fell short on several points. And finally, since this was for a birthday celebration ( which we noted in the reservation) it was a big disappointing that the restaurant did not recognize the special occasion.

    My wife (who loves French food) and I went for our anniversary last night. We had perhaps unrealistically high expectations based on reviews we’d read over the years. It’s a quirky restaurant, which is fine—much busier, louder, and cramped than we expected, which is also fine—just a different ambience than we anticipated. What really underwhelmed us was the food. We both found the lobster bisque inedibly salty, and no one expressed concern when I said I was done with my nearly full bowl. Everything else we had was fine—but just “fine.” We’d have gotten (and indeed have in fact gotten) just as good a meal for one-third the price at our little neighborhood bistro.

    We had always gone to Bistro Hermitage for special occasions and holidays. Last night was our first disappointment. The parking was impossible. Our table was not ready along with several other parties so we clogged up the hall to the kitchen. When we were seated, there was hardly room between the tables. My scallops were tasteless and a little tough. Potatoes underdone. Very loud so no ambiance. I think we will go elsewhere next time.

    My husband and I got engaged here in 2016 and have continued to come hear every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff always makes it special especially when we get to see the manager that was there the night we were engagedZ the food is always a 10 as well as the atmosphere and staff.
