Best French Bistro in Manhattan, always a favorite, never disappoints!
It was wonderful
First time and won’t be the last time. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed.
Lovely little cafe.
Great choices on the wine.
I had the duck confit sandwich
Was it worth the price? Not really but it was delicious!
Service throughout was amazing.
Truly enjoyed my overall experience
We had a 7:30 reservation on a Friday and it wasn’t too crowded but it got busier as we were eating. It’s so charming. It’s like a place that’s been there forever but it still really good. We’ll definitely go back. There are so few places in this neighborhood that are not crazy $$$ and total scenes. This place is perfect.
We really enjoyed our dinner in this snug little bistro. From the steak tartare appetizer, to the lamb shank and filet mignon entrees, the food was perfectly prepared and delicious. My wife's apple Tarte Tatin with hazelnut ice cream was a big hit.
The service was friendly and very attentive, without being overbearing. While it was our first time there, we noticed that the staff remembers and acknowledges their regulars, giving it a family-like feel.
We'll be back, next time we're in SoHo.
Good , traditional bistro fare and one of the few remaining New York City restaurants with an acceptable noise level and music appropriate for dining and conversation. The main problem is the Open Table reservations system, which enforces an absurdly punitive cancellation policy and sets itself up as an intrusive digital pest after a visit to the restaurant.
This restaurant has always exceeded my expectations in the quality of the food, service, and ambiance.
Having had come to support this restaurant on numerous occasions I have not once been disappointed!
I would definitely recommend the escargot!
This was a last minute switch from one place to another and I’m so glad we did. The staff were so nice and welcoming. The ambiance was perfect and very much like being in Paris. The food was perfect. I had a goat cheese tomato tart that was on the specials menus which was nice. My partner had tuna tartare that was also quite nice and fresh. For the mains I had the most flavorful chicken breast that came with the most amazing sauce that went great with the mashed potatoes. My partner had a filet mignon which I’ve never been a fan of but I tasted it and would no doubt order that for myself. We also had dessert which I don’t regret it. The apple Tartan which our server recommended and she didn’t let us down. Also the French martinis were amazing. Moral of the story here is, I highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back to try other things.
Amazing restaurant. Fantastic service and ambiance. Amazing food. The escargot was the best I’ve ever had. Steak and duck were perfect.
I enjoyed my meal very much, except for two items. The orange sauce for the fish did not taste good, at least not like orange. And the profiteroles, while generous in size, weren't what I call profiteroles: it was a huge mound of ice cream with pieces of pastry inside it, rather than pastry shells filled with ice cream. The appetizers, vegetables were all delicious. It's a very pleasant ambience and service, I would recommend to friends except for the dessert. Also, reasonable prices for this part of town.
We just love Bistro les Amis. Feels like home. It is a fantastic neighborhood place that has successfully served its patrons for many years.
Great food and ambiance in SOHO
excellent service, excellent food
The manager and staff offered personal care and attention. The dishes were extraordinarily well prepared and the street side atmosphere is lovely.
Had an amazing dinner and were welcomed by the owner as always.
Never ceases to satisfy on all levels. Bistro Les Amis's service, food, and atmosphere are always welcoming.
This is a difficult review. We split an order of butternut squash ravioli as an appetizer. It was delicious. My duck main course was outstanding. Huge portion, cooked perfectly. However, my friend's pork chop was very, very fatty. With hindsight, he should have sent it back. He did mention it to the waiter who passed on his comments to the owner (?). The owner apologized profusely and took the pork chop off the bill. He said that this shouldn't have happened and would speak to the meat supplier. Very nice that he took the food off the bill but this should not have happened in the first place. The pork chop should have been checked before it was cooked and served. That's why I rated the food only three stars. Having said this, I would definitely go back.
Service was the best. Very French place.
The best onion soup!
A beautiful indoor room. Modern yet traditional. Romantic for dinner or meet friends for brunch/lunch. Very friendly service. Delicious food at reasonable prices.
Outdoor seating also available.
Love the food and the very hospitable service! We were early for our reservation, but we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the croque monsieur and was very quickly told I could have the madame version if i wished. That happens to be my favorite way and I was well pleased with the results!
The food was fantastic. Loved the outdoor seating and cute patio. Was a fun Parisian experience!
We had a great meal here! We were supposed to eat at Laduree but walked out after our food was served cold. Bistro Les Amis had great food and great service.
Service was amazing. Food was fabulous. Pleasant ambiance.
I went with two friends for a late lunch on Saturday. I made reservation for outdoor table. We arrived on time and despite big crowd we were seated right away. The waiter was nice, helpful, and did not rush us. We got our lunch in timely manner and it was delicious. We were not rushed after lunch to leave and were given our receipt when we asked for. I eat in this restaurant many times before and it did not disappoint me now either.
Bistro Les Amis is a destination we try to visit every time we are in NY. It has the feel of a locals’ restaurant with superior food. We eaten here 7 or 8 times and have been pleased every time. The only difficulty is finding a parking space but we’ll put up with that for such a excellent eatery. In particular, the sticky toffee pudding dessert was the best we’ve ever eaten!
Just lovely as always! Noise level was a bit much but it waxed and waned and it WAS Saturday night, and I’m thrilled that they are busy, so. My Branzino was divine👍🏻
If you are in Soho, don’t forget to stop by to check this place out for amazing foods and excellent service. Foie gras is a must-try! Pulled BBQ duck confit and chocolate lava were definitely delicious. They also have happy hour fresh oyster. Will come back for more Foie gras and check out their other dishes for sure.
So happy Bistro survived the pandemic and pleased to see so many familiar faces still there. As always food and service superb.
This is not a place we would return to. Everything was average at best and my entree was inedible. They did take it off the bill.
Our favorite restaurant in Soho
Nice outdoor seating, very friendly staff and great food
Top notch service and awesome food will make this place one to return to very soon!
Butternut squash ravioli dish was very good. The jumbo lump crab cakes were decent but not like Baltimore crab cakes that are truly amazing; there were no lumps of crabs, just mixed in with the rest of the fillings.
Excellent food and service.
Good food. Nice server. Would go back.
2/3 of our dishes arrived cold & the other one was an undercooked egg white omelette. The only good part of this meal was the free bread & butter
Excellent and accommodating service; We were treated as regulars, which we now plan to become.
Lunch with a friend seated outdoors (street side shelter). I had mergueze sausage sandwich, which was ok, probably wouldn’t order again. He had broiled fish, said it was very good. My pâté first course was quite good. Service was very good, although there were few customers so can’t tell what it would be like when crowded. All in all a simple, more than adequate French lunch in Soho. No real street parking though; had to use a nearby garage.
