This is a good place for a very good dinner and good service. If you're looking for space and quiet, go somewhere else. This is a small place, a bit crowded, but the good makes that a small negative.
Wir hatten einen tollen Abend mit einem feinen Essen im Familienkreis mit unseren Jungs.
This was our first visit to Bistro Le Steak, prompted by strong reviews in Open Table that turned out to all be true. High quality traditional cuisine in a nice but not overly fancy environment, served by first-rate staff. Our waiter was friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and blessed with a nice sense of humor. We sat at a little table in the corner of the enclosed street side dining , so it was quieter than sitting in the main space would be, which is what we wanted this time around. Next time -- and there will be a next time --perhaps we will sit where the action is!
A good joint. Attractive, quiet, good food. A very pleasant place to go.
Food is excellent, 'tho pricey !! Service and other employees is friendly and inviting. We been here before; we enjoyed this time and will certainly return !!
this restaurant has been around for awhile but the decor at night still seems to work. the steak was delicious & plentiful. mussels were glorious. the service was excellent & we were lucky to have a waiter with a good sense of humor. he was attentive & friendly as were all the staff.
We went for our 3rd anniversary. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was impeccable. We started off with calamari, which was crisp and flavorful.
My boyfriend had the Naturally Raised Sirloin Streak with Mashed Potatoes. It was cooked very well and the quality of the meat was excellent.
I had the Shrimp and Scallop Entree with a chipotle wine sauce. The portion size was great, and the flavor was even better.
5 star ambiance, food and service. We will be back!!!!
Loved this place. Reservations were on point and we were seated fairly quickly. The waiter we were assigned, David, was quite the gentleman and very fun to talk to. Service took a bit longer than usual given the amount of people we had in our group but was still outstanding. Both the food and wine were served as asked and David was readily available for us whenever we needed anything. Absolutely worth its price and would definitely come again for another pleasant experience.
We very much enjoyed our dinner. The food was very good, the service excellent and the ambiance good as well. I would highly recommend this to our friends.
I have been here many times and as always the food was delishous. I was with friends and all we found our waiter very intrusive. We felt rushed and he hovered over us and interrupted our conversations. This was a first. I will be back but if I get the same waiter you can be sure I will move to another area.
Great neighborhood Place for friends to enjoy in a nice casual setting.
Valentines Day night doesn't offer the normal prefix. They still offered pretty reasonable prices for steak. My bf got calamari, great as always. I got the Roquefort Salad, also a favorite. Our main course was steak sandwich and steak and fries. My boyfriends steak was terrible. Tough, chewy. He managed, but couldn't finish the last third because it was all tendon and tough. We were disappointed with the meat. They might have been rushing to cook it because of the turnover for Valentines Day. I heard them rush another couple to order because they were "busy"...they weren't THAT busy.
I ordered a burger well done, just didn't expect for it to be overly done. Perhaps I should have asked for server's recommendation on cooking levels.
Food was amazing. Service was impeccable. Would definitely go back again!
Good food, disappointed dessert rain out
Steak was delicious as was my friends fish dish. We had the prix fix dinner which was well worth it with friendly service.
We absolutely love this restaurant. Our foodie friend from the west side fell in love with this place and said it is her new "favorite restaurant" and worth coming to the east side to eat. She plans to introduce all her friends to this gem.
Great, romantic, warm and fuzzy place with great food.
Got a nice little corner spot by the window, was perfect for our date. Wine was good, steak was cooked how I liked it. No complaints solid choice.
We were celebrating my friends birthday and this was good. The place and food were very good. The only issue we had was service. The waitress was not attentive, manager had to step in quite a few times as well as the other wait staff. Not sure if it was because they were shorthanded or she was new. Overall, it was great and we enjoyed ourselves. Would go again.
Great quality. Amazing sirloin steak.
I had the Porterhouse steak and my wife had the cod wrapped In Potato. Both were terrifi, and well worth the trip to the East Side. The service was spot on, and the the ambiance was perfect for our date night.
We shared the shrimp St. Tropez for the first time, it was so delicious, would definitely order again. Tasted the filet mignon, outstanding. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The Cote De Rhone by the glass was delicious. Service was warm and attentive. I go to Bistro Le Steak frequently and it never disappoints.
Excellent wine and food, exactly as a bistro should offer. Very much delighted that the once renowned "Le Steak" has been brought to life again. Reasonable pricing.
Service was fun. Good food. Fix price value meal would order again. Should have early happy hour drinks . Would dine again there.
My wife, son and I dined at Bistro Le Steak and the food was outstanding. My wife had the steak, I had the snails to start and the mussels as my main course. My son had the chicken. Each dish was cooked to perfection. The service was friendly, prompt and very helpful.
I recommend the restaurant highly.
The filetee Mignon was AMAZING! Best meat I have eaten since a long time.
The salmon and frog legs were very tasty, I really recommend this restaurant.
Me and my partner were impressed by the good food and the attention.
Excellent service. Cosy and charming. Great pork chop!
Bistro Le Steak has never disappointed us. The food is mouth watering delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Music too loud (but staff did turn down when asked), another example of a NYC restaurant that seems compelled to add music although no one asks for it because they think it is trendy. Quality of bread has declined a lot. Serving staff gracious but not always careful--for example, I ordered no mayo dressing on crab cakes but it came that way anyway. Overall, still one of the most comfortable, attractive, and reasonable restaurants left in the City that understands and delivers true bistro style food.
We have been going to Bistro since it opened. We love their steaks, seafood, duck and especially the Shrimp St. Tropez appetizer which is fabulous. Last year we did a taste test of the Steak restaurants in the neighborhood(UES) and Bistro won hands down. Their steaks taste better, are cooked better, and are more reasonably pricred. They have an extensive well edited wine list. My only wish is that they would bring back their country pate.
We've been many times for dinner, but this was our first for brunch and it did not disappoint. They serve the full lunch menu as well so we had many choices. The floral murals on the wall in the side room with the windows were lovely - it's too dark at night to really see them - and the Christmas decorations were classic.
Waiter was extremely helpful, friendly and personable. Really nice place for our date night.
Enjoyed the Escargot and Steak. However, they did not have bearnaise sauce and their house mustard sauce was so so.
Great time with friends here; we made it a little louder from our laughter and good time! Outstanding steakhouse with a cozy French flair. The service was excellent and my steak was cooked perfectly.
Really great place for a good cocktail and a solid dining experience. Perfect for the where should we go when we don't feel like cooking. Neighborhood gem!
Although the service is quite good and the restaurant has charm, the food is pretty mediocre reminding you that standard French fare may not be as simple as some think.
The food was amazing and the service was just as good if not better!
Although a steak venue, the fish dishes are superb. A special beet salad was delicious to start followed by almond crusted filet of sole and a potato crusted cod fish. The homemade carrot cake was exceptional. The wait staff is always attentive making you feel right at home.
We went there on a week night with friends. We all live in the neighborhood. This was our first (and last) time. There was absolutely nothing special or remotely innovative about this place. The food was mediocre at best. The pricing wasn't extremely expensive but it wasn't cheap either. There are so many better restaurants in the immediate area why settle for mediocrity?
Great addition to neighborhood.
