We were here on all you can eat mussel Monday. The smell of the broth was great but we did not eat the mussels. The calamari was excellent and the brazino with lemon caper sauce was outstanding. Despite how busy they were, our server got our drinks and food to the table very quickly.
I had never been there before so I rolled the dice after reading the reviews on OpenTable. I have grown tired of pricey Hoboken haunts with so-so food at our usual haunts there. My guests and I were not disappointed. Since it was my granddaughter’ birthday, we were all pleased with my choice. The menu offered variety and the six of us something different. All us were pleased with our choices and would not hesitate to return.
My favorite spot. Bistro La Source has a bit of everything, from ambience to reasonable acoustics, a happy vibe and, oh, delicious food!
The servers are all so attentive and polite. The bar is also a fun place to hang out. I highly recommend it!
Great experience as always. So nice to have a place where we always feel welcome.
Reliable destination in Jersey City . Parking , great food and always a welcome . Catriona our server five star service
Absolutely wonderful. The service, wine, entree - what a great local spot!
Always fresh tasting food and the staff is always so attentive and kind
New Years Eve dinner was amazing! Definitely would come back. Small petite and perfect.
The New Years fixed menu was amazing! Love bistro la source
Great service and delicious food. Highly recommend.
The place is great and also the service, but the food is below average, except for the cheese plate, which was delicious. My risotto was a simple rice and it was a bit disappointing.
Ambience and service warm and inviting, food was yummy, homey, frenchy. Lovely dining experience!
A little bit of Paris in Jersey City
his was a fantastic find, off the beaten track but honestly better than the three times as expensive pretense of New York city. My view, Jersey City is the up and coming place to be.
It was a pre fix menu for Thanksgiving. Escargot was a bit too salty n over cooked but seafood stew was very good. Small place n nice ambiance though a bit too loud. We had a nice corner table so it was overall a nice experience.
Great experience! The mussels were to die for, very attentive waitress and the food comes out delicious! My husband and I had a great night
Nice rustic French bistro close to business centre of Jersey City
four choices of sauce with mussels, we tried the curry and the Thai and both were excellent. The Niçoise salad had a huge piece of ahi, shrimp pasta was very good. Lobster bisque had pieces of lobster and was delicious. We will definitely go back when we visit next! And our kids said that they will return.
We love this place and try to have at least one or two meals here every time we are in town! Love the food and staff. Has become one of our favorites!
Food was very good - Last minute addition to table no problem. Waiter was very good. Very nice time.
Friendly staff, great food and service!!! We lived the seafood stew!!!
Awesome Mussels Monday!
Always delightful. Good food, good wine list, small, charming restaurant. Moderately priced.
Bread was stale. Food is average at best. Better places to eat downtown JerseyCity. Good looking cal hangout for drinks.
Food was very good. Can’t wait to go back!
The food is great and well priced. This time we sat in the bar, but made the service a bit slow.
We love coming here for Mussel Monday’s - $13 (plus the cost of any drink... can even be a $2 soda!) gets you unlimited bowls of mussels in 5 different sauces. highly recommend!
Great menu with a wide variety. Service was excellent - friendly and unobtrusive. We were not rushed at all. On-site parking is very very helpful! A great neighborhood place and worth a drive.
Lovely place in Jersey City. I didn’t look at dinner menu but I imagine it’s as good as lunch menu — especially if you like moules frites.
I have been thinking ever since we left that I should leave a review on this place. It was excellent!!!
Great atmosphere and THE BEST fish fry we both have ever had! The food came out so hot and service was great. They have a pretty diverse menu, which is good as I have a lot of dietary restrictions.
It took over 20 min to get our bottle of white wine, which was warm. Service was the slowest I’ve had in Jersey City. It was 80 degrees outside so we sat inside, only to realize it was hotter inside than out. The food was decent but not worth waiting around between courses, never having anyone check on you, and sitting there uncomfortably hot for what could have been an hour and ended up being 2.
Rachel was a terrible waitress who ignored our party but served the two tables next to us with perkiness and a smile. We felt sincerely discriminated against. It took us 40 minutes after finishing our entrees before she even came back with the dessert menu. It took another 20 minutes after that to get our desserts. It was not worth the wait either. When paying, we couldn't even find her to get our check. We just went and found another waiter to grab our check and pay.
We went for Hudson Restaurant week and sat outside. What a gem. Delicious food, great atmosphere and good sized portions.
Bistro La Source is our go-to neighborhood restaurant with authentic French food that even my husband, who lived in Paris for years, agrees is superb. We took friends to dinner there and all had eaten on France and each pronounced the following:
best calamari I’ve ever had...
Best mussels I’ve ever had...
Best steak frites I’ve ever had...
It’s a gem. We’re grateful it’s here
Amazing! Food was delicious. Will definitely go back. Great ambiance.
I love this restaurant! It is cozy and warm and fun and relaxed!! The food is scrumptious and there is something to please every palate! Definitely a neighborhood gem in Jersey City.
Great service, tasty food, cute place w/French bistro flare
It is a great place and the Mela was nice mike in France. We enjoy our dinner.
My wife and I discovered this gem in our ongoing search for a good French restaurant. We were very pleasantly surprised to find this Bistro, with an all you can eat Mussels Monday which offers four or five different flavors of delicious mussels. The fried chicken dish will amaze you. It has a casual atmosphere, but definitely a great experience that I would recommend to anyone.
