Great little neighborhood bistro! BYOB is always a plus! Made an early reservation, table was ready when we arrived. If you're driving, give yourself enough time to find street parking. Service was attentive and not rushed. Both of our meals were delicious! My only suggestion would be better bread; while hot and served with a flavorful dipping oil, a higher quality Italian bakery bread would have been perfect.
La Baia offers a great experience consistently. Food and service are always excellent. It’s a simple, no frills BYOB that always satisfies.
Wonderful service, intimate setting, the food was tasty and comforting.
Delicious food and considerate, attentive service.
Special attention paid when they found out it was our anniversary. Definitely going back.
Thank you very much for your nice words! We are happy you enjoyed your diner with us. Looking forward to serving you again!
Celebrating 2 birthdays. Staff were very pleasant. Food was very good. Would go again. Very tight quarters so not the place for a more private intimate dinner for two but was fine for our group of 4 celebrating 2 birthdays
Thank you for your nice review! We appreciate you choosing our restaurant to celebrate your birthdays. Looking forward to seeing you again!
Servers were the BEST! Super accommodating to the picky eater in our group and made changes and substitutions without batting an eye. Food was delicious-especially the fungi appetizer and tiramisu dessert. So glad this place is in our neighborhood. We will definitely be back!
We may have caught the kitchen on an average day - not great as some reviews have noted. Service was terrific.
First time dining at this restaurant. Service was great. Food was freshly cooked and delicious.
The food tasted great but was cold coming out, the service was excellent. We will definitely give it another try when it’s not restaurant week. Fast service
Restaurant week. It was extremely crowded and took about 45 minutes after we got our salads to get our dinners.
There during restaurant week. Had a reservation but felt rushed in and out. Had to send chicken dish back. Also didn't realize it was BYOB - figured an Italian place in Philadelphia would have a good wine list - our mistake.
Fantastic food, very fast service, friendly employees.
Had a great experience during restaurant week however we were disappointed that we were not able to be sat outside even though our reservation specifically elected for outdoor seating. It was also disappointing that the hostess didn't acknowledge the wait / backup for outdoor seating and just sat us inside without first explaining and apologizing for the change. Once we asked why we weren't being sat outside the hostess explained there was a backup.
Great neighborhood option. Feels almost like being in someone’s home. Authentic dishes, simply presented with sweet service. BYOB.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia - it is so quaint, but it feels like you are at Grandma's Sunday dinner with the best italian coming your way. The mussels are amazing, the spaghetti and meatballs are a classic. With it being a BYO - it can bring in a large group, so with it being a small place - the noise level can get loud.
This restaurant was absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend and I actually live fairly close and we thought we would try it out! We were blown away by the food! You could truly tell that everything was authentic- and the sauces on the pasta was out of this world! It’s tiny but cozy - and we loved the fact that it was BOYB! The server was very accommodating and we would definitely go back and bring family/friends!
Excellent food & service. We all enyoyed our dinner.
Great Southern Italian style restaurant not far from City Center. I tried the Salmon Risotto and my wife had the Branzino over Linguini with lemon-caper sauce. Both were delicious. Good sized portions and reasonable value. BYOB restaurant. I recommend it highly.
We love this place, very nice people. It looks like it is right out of Italy
Great service from Marco, our waiter. Ordered the rice ball appetizer which was delicious, along with the eggplant parm meal, wild salmon dish and lobster ravioli. Everyone enjoyed their meals and would definitely return.
We dined with a group of eight people and the everyone enjoyed their food. My chicken marsala was tender and flavorful but the best dish at our table was the lobster ravioli. Very good! Service was efficient. This is not a large restaurant and it is BYOB, so if you want wine or beer with dinner but sure to pick it up before.
The food was delicious. Service was great. The place itself could use a little decor
This hidden gem is right around the corner from me and one of my go to spots! The food is fresh and always hot (crucial). The service is always great and the entire team is happy to have you and go above and beyond to service! Do yourself a favor and add this to your list!
Good food. Not enough staff and noisy. Both complaints may be due to large 14 person party in small dining area. Food was worth it though.
From start to finish, everything was perfect. This is a wonderful place to go with great service. I look forward to going back.
Would not think of making a reservation here again. They didn’t honor the time and staff was very ignorant. Too many better byob restaurants in the area. A few better restaurants within a few blocks.
Hi Ian, I understand your frustration. The day you made the reservation, we had an accident, and had to close the restaurant for that night. Unfortunately in the rush of things, we forgot to close the Opentable to new reservations. However, I would like to let you know that we go above and beyond to provide an excellent service, which paired to our delicious food, makes our customers come again and again. I hope you give us another chance. I’m sure you will love our food and our hospitality.
food is very simple but tasty, although not all of it is hand-made (but to be fair, they do not claim it is). Service is really nice, it's a cozy place and affordable for a bite
Truly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! The food was unbelievable and the service went above and beyond any expectations.
Food was good, service was meh. It’s a hole in the wall place
Bistro La Baia is a charming family owned Italian restaurant with great service and delicious food.
Very nice small neighborhood restaurant. Great Italian food at a reasonable price. That large blank wall is begging for some artwork! BYOB.
Couldn’t have asked for a more attentive staff for our celebration dinner. The food was fresh and delicious and we appreciated the gluten free pasta options as well. It was a bit annoying to learn upon our arrival that the credit card machine was down and everyone had to scramble to get cash once at the restaurant.
The food is really good. This a cute neighborhood BYO with a nice selection of menu options. We sat outside on a very nice evening and that was lovely. We loved the mushroom appetizer and the pasta and meat selections were very well prepared. It’s ” another” Italian restaurants Philly, but a good one and the prices are very reasonable. We will go back.
Wonderful experience. Two friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time (one moved out of the country). Plenty of time to chat and sit and enjoy each other. Delicious food. Terrific service. Quiet ambience. We had a lovely evening. Thank you!
Authentic Italian. Wonderful servers. Enjoyed the whole experience.
Plain ambiance, but the food was good. We went late afternoon and had the place to ourselves. If going to the theatre later it makes sense as it is close by to the theatres.
This was quite possibly the best dining experience I ever had. They are very attentive and accommodating and the food was so fresh and authentic. The owner/hostess was willing to adjust our meals however we wanted and everything we ate was delicious. I would definitely recommend this quaint bistro to friends and will most certainly go again when back in Philly!
Samira is a talented and kind server and makes the experience so wonderful. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere is beautiful.
Great time at dinner. Outdoor seating. No corkage fee and very nice waitress! Great value! We’ll be back!
I have visited Bistro La Baia multiple times, each time getting better. Out door seating was fantastic, clean table with quiet street view. Lovely service and delicious food. Staff is knowledgable on food, wine pairings (BYOB) and specials.
