Bistro Joe's Ratings and Reviews
Pleasantly surprised! This place has been inconsistent, but our experience the other night was "almost" perfect. Started out a bit odd, as we were being dripped on from the ceiling. After we moved to the bar, things picked up dramatically. Great drinks and friendly barstaff. Oysters were outstanding as was mushroom flat bread. Loved my burger and fries. And the beignets.... holy smokes those were darn close to New Orleans.
We will be back. Hopefully it stays as good as we just experienced.
Overall, I'd say it was great. Only a few things that I think could be improved - 1) the chair backs were very uncomfortable after a while, 2) the salmon was farmed and not wild caught (so I declined to order that), and 3) the spread that I think was supposed to be herbed butter that was served with the delicious bread tasted like margarine (ick). Service was excellent and our food was excellent. Atmosphere was nice (much better than it looks from the outside).
Enjoyed the fun contemporary atmosphere at this local hot spot. Interesting craft cocktails and impressive wine list. The seasonal salmon entree was excellent as was the steak my dining companion ordered. The blondie was outstanding, much more than expected from this typically humble dessert offering.
Hostess was very accommodating with our table preference. We all enjoyed our food as always. I tried the pork chop for the first time and it was cooked to perfection. The mushroom sauce was on the salty side so I skipped that. This is one of the better restaurants in the area.
