Best restaurant in the Valley and the most beautiful
It was the worst food I have ate in my life .
We went for Valentine dinner with my wife and we were served food that was probably prepared the day before.
We left after taking one bite.
Shame on management that compromised for a quick buck which was very obvious
This experience ruined a night that I thought would be special with my wife
It was Valentine's Day and the menu turned out to be rather limited. For the same reason the place was packed and service suffered
Pricey, particularly side dishes. Very good service.
It was a pre-fixe menu due to Valentines Day. So the meal was expected to be average instead of their usual GREAT!
As expected, the food was average..
The service was slow but everyone was very nice considering how busy they were that evening.
We will return when it’s not a holiday to enjoy their usual great food and service.
Sister in town They had never been to the valley restaurant. Loved it. I live the soufflés !
Food was fine. Ambience still lovely after all these years. Service was way off, though. We needed to get up from the table to ask for menus after about 20 minutes sitting in a near empty dining room.
About two hours later we needed to get up again to beg for a check.
Eating dinner on a light Tuesday night at 6:30 pm with my 93 year old father in law shouldn't take more than two and a half hours for two courses.
As always, food, service, ambiance were excellent. Great place to relax with friends over a meal.
Bistro Garden is a special place. Warm and friendly, with great food and service. Joe was our server again and he never disappoints.
I took a dear friend to Bistro Garden to celebrate her birthday. The food was delicious, the restaurant, as always, looked lovely & inviting, the pianist played a creative assortment of pieces and the waiters were very attentive. When they brought the birthday soufflé, the pianist played happy birthday & she was thrilled. I have never had a bad experience at Bistro Garden and will return very soon.
Great food and service. AND they get the most important aspect of fine dining just right - they provide a QUIET and beautiful ambiance so that friends and families can visit and hear one another! That is rare and very much appreciated!!!
outstanding service and food
long time dependable favorite
Unfortunately we had a very disappointing evening. We were celebrating our mothers 86th birthday. for many, many years Bistro Garden has been a family favorite for many special events, even large private parties we have given. First of all we had to ask for menus, the first bottle of wine ordered was bad. after about 1/2 hr they told us they didn't have the 2nd bottle we ordered. when they brought the 2nd bottle we had to ask for new wine glasses as they didn't remove the glasses with the bad wine. 3 of the meals were wrong and had to be returned. the vegetables and rice were cold on every dish. I don't have any idea what is going on the this lovely restaurant but it will be a long time until we return and then only if people we trust give us a good review. Such a shame for what should have been a wonderful 86th birthday celebration.
European restaurant, nice feeling great service. The food is very good.
They gave me free desert for my birthday, which was delicious.
We been there many time and will return again.
Not too many classic restaurant like that in San Fernando Valley.
Elegant and delicious. Lovely piano music with romantic surroundings make for an excellent date night
I like to come to the restaurant during the holiday. The ambiance made the restaurant. The soufflé was a special dish that I went there for. It’s the only place where I can find the grand marnier and chocolate souffle in the San Fernando valley. Love the piano player which made the dining experience so romantic and made the ambiance more along with the decoration. Very classy and old traditional New York style dining experience.
i Always liked to dine at bistro garden it’s one of my favorite restaurants
Bistro Gardens has been a family favorite since I was a child. The ambience is the same, though its time for a few upgrades. The fire was roaring, the carolers were amazing but, the staff wasn't on point. I asked for a dinner salad for my four year old and they brought me a prix fixed salad from my dinner (charged me $15 for it). I would have sent it back but, the waiter dropped it and ran. If it wasn't covered in a lemon vinaigrette, my daughter would have consumed some of it. They also only offered chicken tenders or spaghetti for children??? I'm not at a chain restaurant and my daughter doesn't care for either. We tried to change the pasta from vermicelli to fusilli or Orecchiette with some broccoli and pink sauce but, it showed up as vermicelli (aka spaghetti with marinara). They should have taken children into account seeing that it was Christmas Eve and it was a "Caroling Prix Fixed Meal." Still, it's close to home and has a great Holiday Feel to it. Well be back, just hope they consider the kiddos next Christmas Time.
Surprisingly the waiter was inattentive. We usually have superb service but not this time
Old classic dining spot. Fun watching seniors not afraid to wear their furs that were purchased when it was the fashion status rage!
Lovely place to meet, dine or just share a meal! Never disappoints!
The Bistro Garden has long been a family favorite, both the original in Beverly Hills and the current one in Studio City. It is by far the most festively and tastefully decorated restaurant just about anywhere for Christmas. The staff is well trained and the meals are always perfect.
Took my staff to Bistro Garden for our annual holiday dinner. Food was wonderful. Ambiance great. Excellent service. Excellent food. I've eaten here before and Bistro Garden never disappoints.
The restaurant is absolutely stunning and perfect for a ladies holiday lunch! The food was delicious and even though very busy the waiters were attentive. A real treat!!
We enjoyed the attractive setting, the variety of good food, the excellent service
and the relaxed and friendly overall atmosphere.
This is really a lovely place. However, on this occasion it was really noisy as I put it down to the piano playing. I don't recall this being the situation on previous visits. May be it was the season. It was extremely difficult to have a conversation with the person sitting next to you.
Had to insist strongly on a larger table. We had 5 people plus gifts for the holiday. The " table for four" with 5 chairs could barely accomodate bread plates next to dining platters, and NO ROOM for elbows. In addition, we suggested that the piano player stop giving a performance, and stick to "background "music. Didn't happen. He was not only too loud for conversation but not a very apt musician as well. Food and service good, ambience lovely. But the seating problem and overly loud music left a bad taste (figuratively ).
This restaurant is charming. Good food, good service, expensive. Great for a special occasion. Be sure to order a souffle.
Bistro Garden has always been a great place to celebrate and enjoy fine dining in the valley - sadly, our last visit was underwhelming, to say the least - the menu needs updating, and the service needs a polish. We want to go back but it's hard to justify the expense without some TLC from management.
We were at Bistro Garden at Coldwater for Thanksgiving dinner. Because we were unable to be with family this year we decided to try the special holiday option. We were seated for our reservation promptly and were impressed with the quick and attentive service, as well as the quaint and charming ambiance of the restaurant. For appetizers we both had the risotto with grilled prawn. It was fairly good but the risotto was on the dry side. You could maybe allow for the kitchen staff preparing risotto ahead of time and trying to manage the texture as delicately as they could. While this might explain things, to be fair, it does not excuse it. We both had the turkey dinner for entrees. The turkey was tender, moist, and delicious. The sides- mashed potatoes, stuffing, red cabbage, and candied sweet potatoes- were all delish! And, again, we both had the pumpkin soufflé for dessert. Funny, we never order the same food. The soufflés were hot, light, and very tasty. The biggest disappointment, however, was the very long wait for dessert after they cleared the table. We watched tables on two sides of us receive their dessert before us, and we finished our entrees before them. Unfortunately, our server never once checked in with us while we were sitting there with an empty table. Eventually, I got his attention and told him we were waiting for dessert. To his credit at that time he returned shortly with the soufflés. But, no word about the delay, which you do want after such a wait. Well, I do, at least. And, we sat there at least twenty minutes, probably longer. It's a good thing we had many things to talk about to bide the time. Still, having dinner at such a beautiful restaurant with a packed house made up for a scaled down Thanksgiving this year. We will definitely be back.
