We visited as a family and enjoyed riding the gondola to the restaurant and the amazing views over the mountain - we also had fun heading back down in the dark and the views of the stars are unbelievable. The restaurant it's self is casual and very family friendly. The food was good and there were more options than in other family restaurants we visited but the quality wasn't amazing for the price. The beer and wine options were good.
For fine dining, go to Larkspur or The 10th. Actually Two Elks food is better than this, though it's cafeteria and this is sit-down. Shrimp PoBoy is mostly bread, shrimp bland. Good peel-on french fries. Chicken tacos are very dry, guac ok but not super fresh. No Champagne by the glass. Best thing is carafes of ice water waiting on the table, and convenient location inside the main building across and slightly uphill from Pride Express lift.
Nice mountain restaurant with interesting menu. Many choices. Very good soups and mussels.
It is especially worth going up there for dinner on Thursday where they have a 2 for 1 entre.
I went there for years because of the exceptional Ahi tuna entree and I was disapponited with the substitute. The waiter told us the dish was "moved" by the chef to another restaurant of theirs. Now I feel the food is just good, not exceptional or very good.
Came on Thursday 2 for 1 night. Excellent service! Meals good value with promotion pricing. Enjoyed small desserts that were priced fairly and not overwhelming
This was a nice place to take my mother who was visiting from MA. We don't have much extra cash to dish out for many of the eateries around here. This was affordable, plus she got to go up the gondola.
Had a great time with my wife and two young kiddos. The only negative of the night was it took us getting up after 10-15m to get a waiter to come to our table to get our drink order. Other than that, the food was delicious and the evening was fantastic. This is a must for anyone traveling to Vail. Great food and drinks for the entire family
Great family dinner experience .. Gondola ride up, top notch service and the turkey pie was sensational ..
Very Friendly Staff, fun gondola ride up! Great for families.
Enjoyed our families' New Years Day tradition. Skiing Vail, watching football and great food on top of the mountain. The views are fantastic. Service was excellent and the menu was perfect for the entire family.
The most fun and accommodating staff, a great bar, good food. Perfect if you are at Adventure Ridge but also nice to just ride the gondola up for dinner.
The only place in Vail to have a great lunch a la carte ON the SLOPES! Awesome place, very friendly people! Not overpriced as other places are. Really really good! We loved it!
Beautiful ride up the gondola to a ski-in restaurant. Very attentive staff and good variety in the menu. Good for lunch while skiing, or for non-skiers, good for after ski hours, when the gondola is free.
8 of us ate, 2 had to send food back because it was undercooked and cold. They microwaved both meals, so when returned, they were uneatable. Service (Maxwell) started out really well and then disappeared, which is strange as the restaurant wasn't half full. For lunch, when skiing, it's ok.
Had fun time on the mountain for family lunch. Service was a little slow, but great view
Luvd the Jim and Sid show.
We look forward to going to Bistro14 every year!
One of the best places to dine in Vail; not over-priced, and food is very tasty and prepared well.
On top of Vail Moumtain and accessible by gondola for free after the ski lifts close, Bistro 14 is a great restaurant! The turkey pot pie, burger, and French onion soup were all fabulous. Great service too!
This restaurant is definitely worth the gondola ride,go up after 3 for a free ride but before the sun sets to get a beautiful view over all of Colorado's Mountains. The service and the food was fabulous.
The Bistro has a great setting with spectacular views of the mountains. I expected better quality for the food considering the menu prices, plus the cost of Gondola ride to get up there.
I would recommend for drinks and skip the food.
We ate here after our hike up and down mid-mountain. It is loud and anywhere from families to couples were dining here for lunch the day we ate there. The service was slow, drinks arrived fairly quickly but it took forever to get our burgers and sandwiches. It was a great place to eat after hiking and considering we were hot and sweaty, we would eat there again if in the same situation.
Great service on a very busy day. The staff was great. The food was also good
Food and service were great. We especially enjoyed the Two for Tuesday deal. One minor complaint: menu said 18% gratuity added for parties of six or more. We were two and nevertheless had the 18% automatically added. We were pleased enough with the service that there was no need to complain, but Bistro Fourteen should resolve this discrepancy.
This wasn't what we thought it would be. It's a very casual lunch type place whose decor has seen better days. The best part of the dinner was the ride to and from on the gondola.
Cindy is an outstanding waitress. Responsive, personable and engaging with the customer.
Went here with a large group and the service was EXCELLENT!
Interesting menu. Great service. Fun ride on gondola.
Jim and Syd were quite entertaining and attentive!
Surprised to find such a quality restaurant serving skiers with good service comfortable surroundings and a great menu. Ended up ordering the shaved lamb sandwich that far exceeded my expectations. A perfect spot when you have put in a full morning on the slopes and are looking for a great lunch spot.
I enjoyed this spot so much I came back the next afternoon for a little acres - ski time.
It wasn't busy at all. One of the best views of anywhere in Vail.
Cindy is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great food and good staff service for on mountain dining for lunch. Ate here five days out of five.
Great dining for families with a fabulous view of the mountain. Service was excellent and food was delicious.
This is NOT a super fancy white glove restaurant. It's a nice general restaurant at a great place, Eagles Nest at 11,500 feet. If you go up late in the day during ski season, you can see a great sunset before dinner. While not a fancy atmosphere, the food and service was great. And it won't empty your wallet.
After reading the reviews, we were expecting the worst. However, we were pleasantly surprised! Previous reviewers were correct; if you go after sunset don't expect any scenic views other than your own reflection in the mirrored windows. Atmosphere was so so, but the food and service were as good or better than most much pricier restaurants down in the village. The sesame crusted Ahi was equal to any we have had anywhere, and much less expensive -- prepared perfectly and dribbled with an excellent sauce! Throw in the "Two for Tuesday" two-for-one entree special and this is the place to go...
It was a relax atmosphere! the turkey wrap was very good!
The food was good and it felt good to be off the mountain and not in a large dinning hall setting. Our server was great! The burgers were delish. I ordered the mussels which were very good, but I wish the portion was a little larger.
Fun and entertaining place to eat at. It was fun to ride the lift to the top catch the view and enjoy good food.
The prices are the same as lunch. Menu too.
Cheaper to have a glass of wine than the world's most expensive soda.
They need a different menu and pricing to get me back and I even went on bogo night..
Perfect spot to hit after a long day of skiing. Kid friendly. Food was great!!! Be sure to try the chicken pot pie.
