We have always loved their sister restaurant, La Becasse. So expectations were high for this first visit to Bristro FouFou. All the first course dishes were outstanding: the frites, the Goat Cheese and the Gravlox. The special soup of the night (vichyssoise) was a huge disappointment as it had the consistency of mashed potatoes and the French onion soup was only average. We devoured with delight all our entrees: the Plateau Provencal , the lamb chops and steak frites. We bypassed desserts.

Bistro FouFou and its staff made our night unforgettable! We had our first date here over a year ago and I chose to come back on the night I proposed, I got a YES! They greeted us with a congratulations and two glasses of champagne on the house, which was a great surprise. We ordered the special that evening which was a filet with lobster, cheddar mashed potatoes, asparagus and bearnaise sauce, the meal was outstanding! We were offered dessert and passed I gave our waiter my credit card for dinner when he returned with check presenter we opened it all we found was a sticky note saying “congrats!, happy pride..Tim”. WOW!! How unexpected and amazing! I have been to a lot of 4 and 5 star restaurants in my life and I have never experienced such and outstanding, welcoming and classy staff and on top of it a fantastic meal! Thank you so much for making one of the greatest nights of our lives even better!

We had fa antastic meal and experience our first time here during Restaurant Week a few months ago. For that reason, my husband chose it for his birthday. Our table was by the door and it was a very cool night - we had to ask 3 times to have the curtain closed so we wouldn't get a blast of cold air every time the door opened. We were there at the early hour of 6:30 but there were no specials left. Told we could still have crab on our steaks, but that turned out to not be true. And the dinners came out very slowly. Also difficulty opening the wine and it ended up with cork in it (by husband was too nice and wouldn't ask for a replacement). I was told asparagus would be sub for fries, but that didn't happen although then they brought a side of asparagus. So we kind of had to accommodate the restaurant and work pretty hard for our dinner. And although they knew it was my husband's birthday, nothing offered, not even a candle in his dessert. Just the hostess saying happy birthday. Given all the options in the area, we probably won't go back for a while. Makes me sad. They could and have done better.

Food very average - did like the bread and goat cheese/tomato starter - it was excellent and we anticipated a great meal but were disappointed with all 3 entrees ordered by our table.

Service was lacking after drinks and appetizers. Had two elderly (80s) guests with us, wait staff should've been more attentive to getting the entrees out within a reasonable time. Then quite a delay getting the after dinner coffee out. Overall food was good -- appetizer portions were quite large, but entree portions a little on the small side -- especially the bouillabaisse and steak frites.

Burger was undercooked- asked for medium well- recieved pink the whole way through. One veggie plate was incorrect. The staff never inquired about the food, or if we liked it, satisfied?

Outstanding Happy Hour menu with lots of special appetizers and drinks. Dinner followed. Try the Beef Tartare either as a starter or, as we did, as an entree. Oysters were excellent as was the Steak & Frites. Wine list is varied and priced reasonably. Excellent service, charming dining room. You almost think you’re in Paris.

We ate at Bistro on a Monday evening, using a 2 for 1 coupon. Our waitperson was generous in her interpretation of the coupon, but we passed on the burger, frites, and beer special for steak frites and scallops. We also enjoyed the Bistro flatbread as an appetizer. Everything was delicious and served in good to generous portions.
We will definitely return, coupon or no!

Food is always excellent, service was good only because our server delivered the wrong wine and I did not notice until too late, hoping for a light red not the Rhône we ended up,with, oh well. She apologized. Will definitely go to BFF again.

Was wanting to love it, merely liked. Not exactly overwhelmed by the experience. Tables were so close together that I was nearer to the stranger on my left and on my right, than I was to my husband sitting across the table from me. That's a huge negative to me. Romantic dinner doesn't really accommodate raising your voice to me heard, then to be heard by surrounding tables instead of your intended. French onion soup was extremely salty. The clams in my Seafood Paella were full of grit. Waiter was very proficient, but not really very friendly. Don't think I saw him smile at all. It was restaurant week, so perhaps busier than usual, but that shouldn't be an excuse.

We went for their restaurant week menu offerings--I wanted to try someplace new and something different than our usual; hubby is not a very adventurous eater, so this Bistro menu was perfect for us. I loved the beet salad and I didn't even know that I liked beets! The beef bourgenan (sp?) was excellent as well as the dessert assortment. Nice ambience and attentive service made it a great date night!

It was restaurant week so we reserved an early table & host was warm & friendly. Staff overall top notch! Great wine list, bread perfect. Paella needed more stock or creaminess-was dry - but good, pork chop option should not use Yukon golds for mashed too gluey.French Onion soup Perfection! We ate at Bistro FouFou for restaurant week, where they had prepared a special menu for the occasion. However, my husband ordered off the regular menu and had the scallops. I selected the beet salad and seafood paella, which was part of their special menu. All of our food was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. We would definitely return and eat here again.

We dined here during ‘Restaurant Week’, which maybe wasn’t the best time, due to the high volume of customers, coupled with this being the off-season. Nevertheless, I would have expected more from the food. I ordered paella, one of the ‘restaurant week’ specials. Simply put, it was not what I would consider to be true paella. Although the shellfish were delicious—fresh and cooked impeccably—they were completely let down by the rice, which is what makes paella paella! Arborio, I think. But whatever the type, it was glutinous and, worst of all, cheesy, without even a hint of browning/caramelization. Truth be told, it’s not hard to find sub-par paella—even in Spain. So the quality of this dish was somewhat forgivable. But my wife’s French onion soup was over-salted and under-every thing else. She hates the mountain of cheese that is de rigeur in most versions here in the States. But here it was almost nonexistent; same with the inclusion of actual onions, as well as the volume of stock. Lastly: truthfully, I think I have made better Boeuf Bourguignon. The bread and butter were wonderful, however, as was the service. I hate to leave a review that’s pretty negative; it takes guts to have a French-styled restaurant up here in the hinterlands—and we did have a nice time, overall.

Two-top tables are very close together. Our server was outstanding as were any staff we encountered. Had a big "blow hard" behind us who kept name dropping and insisting that the owner/chef come to his table. He impressed no one in the vicinity but himself. But there is nothing you can do about that.

It was our 40th wedding anniversary and we wanted to have a nice steak meal , The serviing staff were freindly and attentive. Our waiter was knowledgable about the menu and provided assistance in helping us choose our meal. He suggested a smooth aromatic wine for me and my husband had a beer that that he enjoyed. The bibb lettuce salad was dressed to perfection with a mild citric/sweetness and just enough dressing to flavor but without leaving any dressing behind on the plate. We both ordered a medium steak, my husband got french fries and I got mashed potatoes with green beans. The steaks were absolutely delicious, tender and juicy. The french fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The mashed potatoes were tasty and creamy, but barely warm and the green beans were a bit woody. I would give this restuarant 4-1/2 stars as my meal wasn't perfect, but I would definitely go back and give this place another try. Especially when ready for another wonderful steak .

The food itself was pretty good, but the cost was ridiculous for the amout that we got. The staff was very nice, and the restaurant was very nocely set up. I just cant fathom spending that amout of money for decent food that doesn't fill you up.

Everything was great, but our food took quite a while. It seemed as though everyone was getting their meals except us. No explanation was offered and we didn't ask. The service, otherwise was excellent and the food as well. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable.
