We love the menu! We all enjoyed Moroccan specialties, and my Dad, just back from Spain, thought the paella measured up. My young daughter was able to find something plain that she would enjoy, and we all love the décor, background music, and overall ambiance! We just wish it was a little closer to where we live. Street parking was easy to find on a Sunday night.
The worse dining experience ever! This was supposed to be a nice Father's Day Eve meal for two families. There were several signs that should have clued me in not to dine here. The restaurant was nearly empty at 7pm on a Saturday. The waiter was so rude that it was unbelievable. We could only hold our mouths open in shock and laugh. For example, one of our members asked for the desert menu. The waiter simply frowned, huffed and repeated the options louder. The food was subpart to say the least. Iutbof 8 guest, no one enjoyed their food. This restaurant will not be in business much longer .
My wife and I ate at the Bistro du Soleil when we were staying in Alexandria. There were only a few other customers there, which was frankly surprising. The atmosphere was charming, with both normal tables and Moroccan-style booths. Service was good.
The food--a blend of Moroccan, Spanish, Greek, and other Mediterranean fare--was delicious and creative. I had the beef ragout and my wife had the lamb tajine. Both were amazing. We followed that with dessert and mint tea, which our waiter proudly informed us was made on site (no tea bags here!).
Still the same interior of the old Moroccan restaurant it replaced. It remains a middle Eastern restaurant with no hint of Mediterranean ambiance. Booths line the walls making for comfortable easy conversation. Five of our party of six ordered traditional dishes and all were quite good. I tried a simple chicken dish and ate only a portion. Forget the baklava, it is only OK and half the size it should be. The wine list has a good selection and our young waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable. The food shows promise; I feel the owner/chief needs to concentrate on what he does best. And get rid of pooka pipes and mirrored globe ceiling lights as soon as possible.
Very nice restaurant great ambiance. The service was very good as well.
We were seated promptly and had a choice of a booth or table, the booths are more intimate.
The appetizer to share was plentiful, delicious and very well explained.
Only recommendation I would have for them is to have two or three fresh fruit juices on the menu.
My wife and I had dinner here while visiting DC area. The food was absolutely magnificent. Had a few appetizers, wife had chicken while I had lamb shank. Highly recommend the calamari and banana peppers. Service was impeccable, atmosphere was great. Menu had items from all over the Mediterranean. Would visit here again...frequently.
What a great find! Enjoyed our second time dining here. Food was great, atmosphere wonderful. Very good service. Our friends enjoyed it as well. Will definitely be coming back here.
Love the improvements they've made at this restaurant since last time we ate there. Service was attentive, food was marvellous (I had the lamb shank but my wife's portobello mushroom ratatouille was equally delicious), and the ambience was nice. The baklava I had for dessert probably was the best I've ever had. Will gladly go back!
We stopped here on out first day in Alexandria and we had to make a return visit. The food is excellent and the service is fast. The lamb shank which my wife had was again awesome. I tried a different lamb dish and was just as impressed with it as I was with the lamb shank. This place is absolutely worth a visit or two.
Loved the ambience and service !

Lamb was excellent !
