Food was excellent - try the grilled octopus. Ambience was dim and quiet on a Sunday night. Service was highly professional - They take great care of you! Will return for sure.

Overall lovely restaurant and meal. Service was impeccable and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our appetizers were delicious as was the souffle for dessert. My only criticism was that my halibut was under seasoned. It was very bland and ordinary. For a french bistro we were expecting more from the sauces and there was barely any sauce on my plate, same with my husbands duck. Too bad other wise it would have gotten 5 stars.

We sat upstairs, which is lovely, and had the 5 course tasting menus with the wine pairings. It was delightful. From the selections of wines to the creative French cuisine I loved it all. If you want the whole experience do the tasting menu. Amazingly we have eaten downstairs for lunch which is also great but more casual.

One of the best dining experiences I've had. The food was amazing, the wine was great, waters were very nice to us. I'll definitely come back every time that I'm in Boston.

As usual, we had a great meal! The octopus and tuna tartare appetizers were plentiful and well prepared. The duck, predictably, was excellent. Service friendly and knowledgeable. Management attentive. This is our "go to" restaurant.

Quiet and reserved upstairs dining room with view of the Public Garden. A little pricey but main course of duck was outstanding and fish very good. Desserts--ice creams and a blackberry clafoutis were excellent. Best reserved for a special event given the cost

With our reservation, we were seated the middle of a tight two-person banquette, between two other couples in close proximity and quite near a very loud group at a large table. This group was so loud, we could not converse. We asked to be moved. The offer was a high top table next to the stairwell. There were many other tables available, so we asked for one of those. That is where we should have been placed at first, since those tables were unoccupied during our entire stay. Service was very slow, but when the food arrived, it was excellent. The wine list is brief, but has some worthwhile selections. The open kitchen (behind glass) is fun to watch. One job of the maitre d' should be to measure the level of dissonance in order to satisfy all of the diners. The obnoxious noises constantly made by the very loud group was disturbing most of the other diners in the restaurant until they finally left. Restaurant menus should also indicate which plates can be made vegan and/or gluten-free for those who require such things. The waiter here had to check repeatedly with the kitchen for these requirements.

Our favorite Sunday Brunch in Boston. Sit outside if weather permits and have the champagne cocktail with lavender. Everything on the menu is wonderful. The lemon ricotta pancakes are heavenly!

We had a delightful brunch with friends from out of town. Our table was in a window overlooking the Public Garden, the food was wonderful and it was quiet enough -- though busy! -- to enjoy conversation among 6 people. A lovely spot!!

Went for Sunday brunch and they placed us next to a very large, rowdy party when the entire upstairs dining room was empty. Weird.

Bouillabaisse Bloody Mary was fair, not as delicious as it sounds.

Bellini was too sweet, but good all the same.

Cheese board was very delicious, but the server and runner had a difficult time telling us which cheese was what and brought it out with the wrong cheeses many times.

Third time and its still a charm! Tried brunch this time and was just as pleased as my first two visits over the past two years! The croque monsieur was decadent, the pancakes my daughter ordered divine! Loved their signature champagne cocktail last visit so ordered again! I prefer to sit downstairs as I like to watch people walk by and see the Boston Commons comings and goings but would recommend the second floor as well for a more romantic atmosphere! There are large windows overlooking the park offering beautiful views! There is a elevator if not able to take the grand staircase up. The only negative to this visit was the lack of the server bringing the requested syrup for the pancakes when requested. First I should not have had to ask and second once I had it should have been brought right away. Instead she never did and I had to ask another staff member. Still I would highly recommend this restaurant! Out of 5 stars a solid 4.9 rating in my opinion!

We dine fairly frequently at Bistro du Midi because the food is very good. This was our first foray into brunch and it was rather disappointing. The bread was OK but uninteresting and served without butter. The croque madame was basically a ham and cheese sandwich with an egg- no yummy bechamel sauce. Worse was my Benedict which had solidly hard eggs. I rarely send food back but this time I had to, and the replacement was fine. By then my companions had almost finished. We were given one complimentary dessert between us to compensate, which we appreciated.
The restaurant was not at al busy so there was no reason for errors and not what we expect.

The occasion was to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We have been to Bistro du Midi a few times. It may have been a coincidence, but we have been seated at the same table each time. We now consider that “our” table.

We enjoyed our pre-dinner cocktails.

We agreed that our meals (Rib-Eye Steak and Sea Bass) were both fabulous and would highly recommend each of them.

I have included a picture of the Chocolate Soufflé that we had for dessert. I liked that Happy Birthday was written in frosting on her plate.

We will certainly enjoy our next meal at Bistro du Midi!

The restaurant has a great setting and view of the Boston Public Gardens across the street. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. The food was mediocre however and the portions were ridiculously small especially for the price. We do not recommend it nor would we return.

a great night out with a few couples - being a vegan - it is always greatly appreciated when the Chef and waitstaff will accommodate a vegan diet for off menu meals. I did indicate 1 vegan diet in the party when making the reservation - always good to give them advance information - better for everyone - accommodate a vegan diet and creating a flavorful and seasonal dish -

Everyone had amazing dishes - the Fish was light and tender and the duck was cooked to perfection - beautiful presentation
a nice variety to the menu for entree choices and we will be back

Day time - a great burger in the lower level bar area with dining seats and when the weather is nice - street seating.

We always dine upstairs which is the formal dining room. They have a bar downstairs that serves more casual food and more of a bar scene. Upstairs is excellent with fabulous meal options which they will also do wine glass pairings as well as they have an excellent tasting menu. I really love this place.

Service was horrible. The waitress seemed annoyed at times. And worat of all a mouse ran across our feet.. right in the open in front of everyone. The manager was told and his response was, "ok let me get your check" . In other worda, let me hurry and get you out of here! Then he said, ,"oh I took 1 drink off your tab". One drink? ! Are you serious? ! He didn't think comping that entire meals was worth not having this negative review?! Shame on him! Before we even ordered, my friend suggested we leave, as we noticed the bartender complaining to the waitress about the drink he ordered . We should've followed our instinct. We would never go back there!
