Top tier French cuisine in a quiet adult setting. It was the perfect place to catch up with friends. The food - bouillabaisse, monkfish with escargot, halibut with clams and cockles, rib eye steak - was delicious. The wine list had a good selection of moderate to expensive choices. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.
Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Service was excellent food was good.
We stopped in while on vacation in Boston because the restaurant was well rated and near our hotel. This is not a cheap meal, but it was a very well prepared and beautifully served meal, in a beautiful but simple space. The second floor, where we are, overlooked the Public Garden, which is currently lit for Christmas. Overall a very nice meal and we’d be pleased to come back for a special occasion.
It was our second time eating here. We were in the city for a play and I literally parked right outside. I questioned going in because we had our 5 and 8 year old, but we took a chance and everyone made us feel very comfortable. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is incredible. We'll be back soon!
Very disappointed with the service.
Wonderful lovely meal
Tastefully decorated for Christmas
Outstanding as always.
I love this spot for both the downstairs, more casual bar and the upstairs for cozy, fine dining with a view to the Public Garden. We ate upstairs. The service was excellent. I had the duck which was good but the portion was teeny. That said, I would likely return because it is a beautiful space to hang out for a nice relaxing evening!
Good food, nice ambiance, okay service
Bar seating with Stefan. Service, food, and drink were all excellent as expected.
Had a wonderful dinner with my fiancée for his birthday. The service was excellent. I've been to this restaurant a few times now and consistently have a fantastic experience with service, food and drinks.
Exceptional service and French cuisine experience!
It's a great spot in Boston, the location is super nice... I'm suspect to talk because I love french food
We had a wonderful dinner there on Thanksgiving. We were a party of 5 and we all enjoyed our meals. We never felt rushed. We were able to enjoy our family as well as the delicious food. I will definitely go back.
My husband and I switched it up this year for Thanksgiving and we were not disappointed with our decision. He had the turkey and I had the duck both, were very flavorful. We can’t wait to comeback and try the dinner menu
Thanksgiving 3 course menu was amazing.. plenty of food and great selection..
Fabulous food and service. Monkfish was a home run. This restaurant never disappoints
Took a while to get us our table despite having a reservation, and arriving on time, but staff was very attentive, and food was great.
We loved it for the weekend brunch in the winter time. It's holiday mood everywhere. Food are great. Will come back for sure.
The food was good but the service was terrible. Rude waiter, careless, spilled food and water
The location is beautiful and the food is good but the service is really awful
Lovely fireplace - ablaze but perhaps a bit too toasty
I went there for Birthday dinner and I have some things I can’t eat, along with my 88 year old father. I mentioned them when I made the reservation, the waitress knew and was armed with information before we asked. Everything was great! I’ll be heading back there again!
In town for a convention and treating ourselves to a nice evening. The sirocco cocktail with hot pepper infused tequila was outstanding. Beet salad was perfect and original. Haddock was excellent. Hostess was also so warm and genuine (and that can be hard in the industry!) -- made you glad you walked in the door. We asked to order 3 items and split them, and that request was beautifully accommodated. Seating upstairs was cosy and warm on a windy, snowy, night.
Another wonderful evening at the Bistro! We have only been once before but remembered why our previous memories were so fond. Service is gracious across the board, from walking in to being seated to being served. Our server Nabil was incredibly attentive without being obtrusive- just what you want! The food was excellent, although we found the portions to be large. They were extremely helpful with one of our party's dietary restrictions and made the whole evening a pleasure. We will return!
My wife and I went to Bistro du Midi for a date night recently. It was an excellent meal from start to finish. Our server was exceptional. We started with a Tuna Tartare, which was a light and refreshing opener. Then I ordered the ribeye, which was tender and flavorful. My wife ordered the duck which was also insanely delicious. We also shared the fingerling potatoes with spicy aioli. When we ordered dinner I told our server that we wanted the chocolate soufflé. I knew it took 25 minutes to make and we were trying to make a play with an 8:00 curtain. When desert came out it was the raspberry soufflé. I checked with our server to make sure we hadn’t received the wrong table’s order and he told us that he put in the order wrong and that he would get one out to us right away. We told him not to worry about it and that we didn’t have 25 minutes to wait for a new one. The raspberry soufflé was crazy delicious. We asked for a check and when he brought it over he was carrying a chocolate soufflé. That’s right. My wife and I ate 1 and a half soufflés each. No regrets! (Also, in my humble opinion, the raspberry one was better) It doesn’t matter how great a place is or how good the server is, mistakes will happen. It’s about how the restaurant deals with that, and they dealt with it perfectly. I will 100% be back again.
Lunch at Bistro du Midi was wonderful. Ordered a Croque Monsieur with a side of Pommes Frites. Great lunch. Quick service. Work nearby and will return often.
Very accommodating and excellent service. We tried the seasonal tasting menu, which had dishes centered around truffles and they were all delicious.
Good food awful terrible service
Lovely restaurant; great staff; quality food.
Ambience conducive to conversation. Excellent food. Attentive staff.
Some dishes were excellent others okay. Would have shared the rib eye with my husband. Wine choices at moderate prices seemed limited. Dessert of chocolate pannacotta was tasteless and overpowered by the sorbet. Would be best to have a dessert choice without ice-cream or sorbet.
We came to Boston for a matinee show and was looking for a place for brunch beforehand. The meal was excellent and there were plenty of tasty looking options on the brunch menu. Good presentation and atmosphere the staff was friendly.
The food was good but the service made me want to never come back. One hour wait for oysters?!
Would’ve been an outstanding experience if only they didn’t completely screw up our foie gras! We were craving and looking forward to delicious foie gras - what they served was cold pate!
However, my Bouillabaisse was amazing! And the bread was fresh and warm, which is always a good sign.
Great food and service. Pre theatre dinner. Reserved seats at the upstairs bar. The bar tender offered great recommendations and it was like having a private server. Miss having wines by Coravin.
I ate at the bar. Try the Farmer’s son- a great spin on a Pimm’s cup! The service at the bar was stellar! Delicious meal- creamy cauliflower soup , amazing short rib bistro burger, framboise soufflé with French burgundy to drink! I will return for some of the other wonderful sounding items on the menu next time I am in Boston!
Very good traditional haute cuisine. The torchon de foie gras was very good.
New favorite French restaurant!! Filet was best I hav ever had.
Excellent from top to bottom! Amazing cauliflower soup! Unique beet gnocchi. Lovely fish.
Really lovely second floor dining room and great lunch and dinner menu.
