Bistro du Midi's cuisine features the simple yet refined flavors of Provence and the South of France. We feature an extensive award-winning wine list, and offer it all in a relaxed environment overlooking Boston's beautiful Public Garden. A street level cafe features floor-to-ceiling windows, and in the spring and summer our patio provides some of the most optimal al fresco dining in the city.

Our private Wine Room can accommodate groups from 10 to 30 behind handsome sliding barn doors. The room features a stunning view of Boston's public garden, original sketches by Henri Matisse against deep red walls and a window into our upstairs wine cellar. The Wine Room is a perfect option for intimate family gatherings, business meetings and celebrations of any type.

Our semi-private Matisse Alcove sits just off the main dining room with three walls around the table and the fourth side open to the dining room, providing parties of 6 to 10 guests with a more intimate dining experience while still allowing guests to enjoy the energy of the restaurant.

This is a very good restaurant. Best duck in town! And I had venison tartar for an appe which was outstanding. Wine list a bit over powering, but their sommelier is very good. Think $$. Service excellent, a very quiet Thursday night in February so we chatted if we wanted to and didn’t when we didn’t. Attentive, professional, not over bearing. Love the Bistro.

Ah, a terrific foodie restaurant that doesn't have cavernous ceilings and blaring rock music to cause premature deafness. The food was wonderful. Duck breast cooked to perfection, and the Brussels sprouts with pork belly was beyond delicious. It was so nice being able to converse with ease in such a lovely room (we ate upstairs). If you are seeking quality food and service without the trendy cacophony of most restaurants, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

Bar downstairs was terrible and bartender more concerned about us not transferring tab upstairs ( assumed it was about tip) than service. Fish was good upstairs but served warm not hot....terrible service. I will not go back (and I dine out in Bos 3x/ month).

We received a gift card and figured we could have a nice date at a reasonable price. We did the 5-course pre-fix with wine pairing and it was great. It would have been WAY out of my price range without the gift card, but it was a great date night with our gift card.

It was ridiculously empty, but I have a feeling that made the food better because it allowed an all star team to do their thing. We loved it!

We had Sunday brunch and the 3 of us ordered something different and shared. All of the options we chose were delicious and well prepared. The bloody mary cocktail special was exceptional, and the portions were generous; none of us ordered dessert because we simply didn't have room. We will return to this restaurant--the view into the public garden is a nice complement to the wonderful atmosphere inside.

I had a birthday brunch here and the wait staff, managers, and hostess were extremely attentive and nice. Not to mention the food is just magnificent. Our server was Jennifer and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and welcoming. I had such a great experience for my birthday brunch!

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Fresh ingredients, innovative cuisine and excellent service. Had a table in front of the fireplace, looking out onto Boston Garden. Bistro du Midi satisfied the foodies and the plain steak and potatoes people in our group...a rare find!

We dined here on New Years Eve. The set menu with wine pairings was just perfect. Every dish looked beautiful and tasted delicious. The wines were all interesting and matched each course perfectly. The service was great - the meal was perfectly timed to culminate just before midnight. My only negative was that our table near the window was a little cold although the view was lively and the space felt intimate and looked cosy.

We had New Year's Eve dinner; a five course meal. The bread was cold and doughy, but was replaced with breadsticks upon request. The salmon was underdone but re-cooked immediately upon request. The rest of the food was superb: kudos to Lyndon the waiter who recommended the white truffles; the scallops were thin sliced and delicate, the octopus chargrilled after marinade, and the salmon excellent once done to flaky. There were several groups and it was noisy. Lyndon and the other waitstaff were excellent, very attentive even though they were quite busy; the room is very nice; the tables for two are close together, but that is the expected style. The front of the restaurant downstairs is a bit crowded, but they were happy to accommodate us in the bar while waiting for the table; we were early and they got us in early.
Overall, an excellent experience for a foodie and a wine lover, though too loud for a romantic meal.
